BRIONYBOB Nice idea, but it doesn't work in fullscreen mode (no errors or anything, just nothing happens) and the main visualiser seems to be a rather harsh kaleidoscope-like version with the odd ripple on top. As I say - nice idea, but it hasn't really grabbed me, and it doesn't make me want to pay for a fuller-featured version. (Version 1.46)

MACNERD1984 If you have dual monitors (as I do) then Full Screen will only work if you drag your iTunes Window to your main monitor. Very annoying. I can get FS up with no problem once that is done. Hit "h" to bring up the options and then "s" to move between presets. (Version 1.46)

BRIONYBOB It's certainly better than I could do, but I'm sadly unimpressed. It's a bunch of five semi-transparent images that bounce around the screen. They don't even bounce in a realistic fashion. I remember making bouncy things like this on my Spectrum in the 80s... (Version 0.2)

BRIONYBOB I wouldn't dream of suggesting you're trying to rip anyone off. I'm suggesting that a longer trial period would entice me to buy it, while a sixty second period makes me feel you're being stingy. That's all - you can't possibly rip people off with a screensaver; if you like it, you pay for it. If not, you don't. I just thought your comment about it not being a word processor and not needing to be tried out was a little rude and short sighted. If you can increase sales by allowing a longer trial period, well then you've lost nothing, have you? (Version 1.1)

BRIONYBOB You might think it's reasonable; the rest of us will vote with our wallets. I like to leave a screensaver on my mac for a while, and if I like seeing it after a few days, I consider shelling out cash. A sixty-second preview isn't going to make me rush to an impulse buy, and draconian shareware puts me off even more. (Version 1.1)

Discover Lost Songs | Nov 25 2007 |
BRIONYBOB I don't understand what this does. I ran it and up came a list of 1600 songs. Each and every song is in my iTunes library, is sitting on my hard disk and is available to play without any extra work. The description is very unclear. What exactly is a "lost song" - a song that's not in a playlist? A song that's in the iTunes library folder structure but not in the iTunes playlist? At the moment, it's a mystery what I'd be paying for. (Version 1.1)

BRIONYBOB This works well enough, in that it does exactly what it says and it's pretty cheap. However, I do find that watching a translucent movie over the top of my work doesn't actually work for me. I now go for the separate monitor solution - a cheap LCD monitor attached to the back of the iMac which I run DVD Player on from the system software, which works perfectly. I can get on with work, and watch a film on the other monitor right next to me. Highly recommended - a dual monitor display is fantastic; if you've never tried it you're in for a treat. Mahjong Solitarus | Aug 11 2007 |
BRIONYBOB A very slick and good-looking version of Mahjong solitaire. The graphics are obviously 3D, so it'd be nice to be able to move the view around a little. I didn't like the way it took over both my monitors when I launched it, but there's an option in the preferences to play in a window. However, the window's pretty small - about 640 x 480, I think. It'd be nice to up the resolution a little. (Version 1.6)

BRIONYBOB No reviews for quite a while, which is a shame: Privoxy is excellent. It's now on version 3.0.6 which is running just fine on my Intel mac, whether it's a universal binary or not. It's easy to configure, once you've given the documentation a quick read, and it does everything that Pith Helmet or Adblocker used to do. An amazing piece of kit - and free! (Version 3.0.6)

BRIONYBOB It's also very useful for my geography lessons at school. Instead of me vaguely waving at a map of the world and then pointing at this arbitrary location we can actually zoom in to the school. Pop in a search location and then we're off - actually flying from where we are across the world. Beats the old globe and atlases hands down for helping the kids understand what's going on.
