BLUESTAR This is getting to be a joke. A new version released evry day practically. The developers either want to keep the software name in front of people ( a form of advertising) or they are a bunch of incompetent idiots who can't test their software properly before a release. (Version 8.41)

STAR-AFFINITY Well, I too think 3.5.4 is faster than before. For example I don't remember the scrolling being as smooth as in Safari, which it certainly is now. Maybe you're right; it might just be placebo, but I absolutely didn't expect it to be any different from before plus it's not always every change is written in the release notes. I might be wrong though, haven't done any side-by-side comparing. :) Anyway, Flash is still more heavy on the processor(s) in Firefox compared to Safari. Don't know about the new 3.6 beta though. Mozy for Mac | Oct 23 2009 |
BLUESTAR I just updated from a previous version. Opening the file selection window tells me no files are selected when there are about a dozen. Also, I asked the MOZY team to indicate the release DATE for the software downloads on their downloads page not just the Fing version number, so one doesn't have to go to their MOZY on the computer and through several clicks find the app and its version number. This should be really simple. They are too lazy to do so. I've uninstalled this program. (Version 1.5.1.5)

JASON EMANUELSON Not everyone wants to dig into things like you apparently do. The reason why software and and product/service is that it is to fill a need. Obviously someone saw a need that was not being filled, and maybe this was born before Apple documented al of the glaring issues with FCS. The fact that we even need a repair utility to keep a program running from a company as large as Apple is sad. If it costs more than you want to pay, this is okay, but have you tried it to even know how well it works or if it does things that Apple's knowledge base does not tell you? (Version 1.1.5)

BLUESTAR I switched from Suitcase. Got too annoyed. Great all around and seems much better than Suitcase. BUT! I don't get auto-activation.... It only works if I have the application open. Then you also have a background application running separately. What's the point of that if the auto-activation doesn't work? You also have a CS4 Photoshop plug-in AND a background app running YET when I open Photoshop file and it asks for a font it doesn't activate! So what's the point of it all? If this is the way it works just have the requirement to have the main application open for auto-activation to work OR fix the situation and have it REALLY work with the background app and the plug-in (just like it works in Suitcase.) Also, it still opens on its own occasionally when I simply open a file in Photoshop for no apparent reason, so this has NOT been 100% fixed. cheers (Version 2.0.1)

Just hold on and do not cancel the process. I worked for me... I have a Mac Pro Quad Core 2.7 Ghz Mac. I had Windows XP (SP2) running with the original Bootcamp 2.0 drivers that came with the Mac on the install disks just fine. I installed Bootcamp 2.1 from a stand-alone download under XP (SP2). There is an annoying thing (amongst many) in Word and Excel: Application Preferences are not available unless I have a document open? - ridiculous. I would like an option to NOT have a blank document open every time I start up Word or Excel. Why isn't this in the preferences? Very annoying. Another annoying thing, connected to the comment above about a blank document opening when I start up Excel: if I switch to another app while I wait for the looooong startup of Excel it will pop the window of it's blank document in front of whatever I'm using (another application) - two VERY annoying things. Computers and software were supposed to do what I ask them to do not have a mind of their own and force the user to accept whatever it is programmed to do. (Version 12.0.1)

I move it, but it comes back to my main display into the center. If I'm downloading something in the background and working on something / reading a webpage... it will pop-up right in the center of my screen annoying the hell out of me. Come on!!! In previous versions it remembered the window position. Allume is LAME! (Version 10.0.2)

STUFFIT I am unable to duplicate this behavior. If I move Expander's progress window. When I expand another file, the progress window appears in the new location. If I quit and relaunch Expander and try again, it still appears in the newly designated location. Perhaps your Expander preferences file, located here: /Users//Library/Preferences/com.stuffit.Expander.plist ..is damaged. Delete it and then try to duplicate the issue again. --Eric K (Version 10.0.2)

BLUESTAR No idea what you're talking about... I have not experienced these problems. As far as file typing issues in the Findar you can always fix any issues with the "Get Info" command and assign any app to your liking to open a particular file with a certain extension ALWAYS with that app. (Version 10.4.5)

BLUESTAR So far no glitches, all's smooth. See no diff in Dashboard. Some apps will need to be updated that mess with the OS appearance such as TransparentDock (Version 10.4.5)
