F10 Launch Studio	Oct 1 2008	BINARYPACKRAT I WANT to like the new version because I just purchased it. HOWEVER: These are my first impressions after digging around in it for a day. I am very disappointed as it seems now that it is just a GLORIFIED . There is no way that I see to "build Sets" of icon groups the way the old version did by filling the entire screen. That WAS the reason I used F10 in the first place. Now, the only way I see to build sets of icons IE: INTERNET= Safari, Transmit, Mail is to drag them to the new "Dock" I don't want "Docks" I want similar groups of large icons on my main screen-Not all of them unless I click on the tab the way it used to be that said ALL. Am I missing something Here??? Bummer. (Version 2.1)		+2

MUDFLAPPER I second that. Here's what I posted on the SD page:

My copy of Speed Download updated itself to version 5 without my permission, now it won't accept my old license code. I received a second license code from the recent MacHeist bundle, so I tried that. Nope.

This is NOT cool.

JEREMYY iGetter should offer like $15 or less for MacHeist buyers to upgrade to their current 2.6 and free upgrade to 3.x series.

I bet this will grab a lot of new users.

RPPHOTO Me too, I'm coming back to iGetter due to the super-sleazy behavior by the Speed Download people. I refuse to continue support for a company like that. iGetter is polished, Mac-like and nice to use, I don't know why I ever stopped using it... .

BRUCE_Y I tried Disk Inventory X, but found their style of checkerboard quilt size display to be unusable for me.

The only other app I know which displays directory size info in an easily readable columnar style is OmniDiskSweeper, which is also shareware for about $15. You should give them a try and compare these to see which works best for your style.

The one app that (for me) I thought did a good job of combining both numeric size and graphical size info was Disk Surveyor, but that was OS 9/Classic and they never made the leap to OS X. 8-(

Disk Inventory X gives a "checkerborad quilt" style (as you call it) graphic information about the content of the folder you select, but also gives you a list with the size of each item in that folder. And it also organizes that information from the biggest to the smallest item in that folder. And it is possible to get info about each individual item and even sent it to the trash if you want to.

But I agree... This new version of WhatSize is better than Disk Inventory X.

The only real advantage of Disk Inventory X is... the price.

The developer responded within the hour (ON A holiday no less) and got me up and running in no time. A+ I was using another download app but it could not compare with the functionality of SD. I bought this app especially to use with Rapid Share, which works seamlessly! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Version 4.1.18)		0
