BILL B  Now running Tiger, I was looking for a renicing utility and came across Process Wizard again. I have used this in the past with Jaguar and Panther, but didn't think it would run under Tiger. To my surprise, it runs perfectly! The interface is different and better than when I used it in the past (new version).

BILL B  Version 0.56 has the same problem as version 0.55: The mplayer binary file in VideoSpec won't work, at least on my Intel iMac. I copied mplayer from the MoKgVm2DVD program into VideoSpec and it now runs fine, albeit slowly.

BILL B  I've tried this with Camino using CamiScripts and it works. Navigating to NadamacSearch from the Scripts icon in Camino's menubar is tedious however. The documentation states that Pressing cmd-ctrl-F will bring up the search window, but it does nothing. I've found no way to configure this.

BILL B  I've been using Library Books v 2.4 for several months now and it's been great. It has crashed only once, during an update -- I have a flaky wireless connection.

The only thing I would change is the grey used to list books on hold. Don't know why grey is so popular; I find it hard to read. If black isn't an option, maybe a color could be used.

BILL B  QuickTime is back! After running the installer and rebooting, I played an mpeg1 movie (Killer Dill from the internet archive.) Full screen with a bunch of other apps running, there was no stuttering and the audio and video stayed in sync.

BILL B  I got a folder of 50 excellent photos of lightening from a friend, unfortunately they were very high resolution (~9000 x 9000) and were thus unwieldy. I decided to try Drag-N-Scale to resize them. It crashed (twice) while importing them. Toyviewer wouldn't even open an image from the folder.

I found this and it worked perfectly! Importing the whole folder took maybe 1/3 as long as iPhoto did. I could size them to fit my screen. The folder was reduced from ~400+ MB to 1.7 MB.

I definitely recommend this!

As far as getting flash files from websites, if the website serves the file (i.e., it isn't loaded from another server) try saving the webpage using Camino. There are also websites that provide free downloads of flash files, like dumpalink.com.
