BIGIDEAS  Maybe I'm getting old but I get really ticked off at developers who offer a product and then upgrade it over and over in a matter of weeks. Since TypeStyler was reintroduced in October this is the 2nd or 3rd revision. How about testing it and then releasing it and not the other way around. We do logos and stylized text on a weekly basis. Art Text does a great job for the fast, simpler jobs. Anything really complex we are doing in Illustrator or Photoshop. We have the old TypeStyler and it was cool for its day but a little gaudy today with the heavy fonts and outlines. When they get all the revisions out of the way we will check out the demo, but I run a business and have to justify my prices against the competition. I'm afraid Strider didn't do much market research before setting their prices.

BIGIDEAS  I've used Tuneup for a while and just upgraded. I'm pleased, it meets my expectations and I can't see what the fuss is all about. It cleans up iTunes, adds album art and gives me info about the artists. Now if you consistently rip off music from Usenet it may not work perfectly every time, but it does manage to get it right at least 90% of the time for me. Just a suggestion to anyone using it - remove duplicates and get your library as organized as you can before you start.

BIGIDEAS  This is a very promising piece of software. I actually tried to buy it and stopped because the developer requires me to "join" their site. I don't want to join a community or have to provide personal information, all I want to do is buy the software. So, I didn't do it. You know there's a very basic principle in marketing - "Make your product easy to buy." SongGenie is not easy to buy. I'll keep an eye on it and see if they change their policy.

BIGIDEAS  This may be an excellent piece of software but with six revisions and updates since January 2009 it feels as if you are not testing it in advance, you are giving your customers the "opportunity" to do your development testing for you. As far as our studio is concerned we will wait until you have a stable, proven piece of software before we spend hundreds of dollars.
