While studying part-time at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art, Barry began his professional TV career in 1979 working as a film editor on local and network TV shows for one of the largest independent companies at that time, ATV Networks Ltd. Moving later to London to pursue a freelancing career directing and producing commercials, corporate and broadcast TV, he has enjoyed over twenty years directing numerous documentaries and dramas. Renowned for his highly engaging and visually dynamic style, Barry has been the recipient of several awards, including the ‘Short Documentary Award’ at the 2006 Moondance International Film Festival, in Los Angeles. As an experienced cameraman, editor, writer, producer, director and voiceover artist, he has worked in over twenty countries and is a member of the Directors' Guild of Great Britain and a holder of a British press card. For the last three years, he has been living and working in the USA and Thailand, creating and developing pilot TV shows, including a new international TV show, 'Splash of Color', for second largest distributor of family programming in Hollywood, Porchlight Entertainment.
