BS0D Out of respect for the developer, I'm not going to talk too much trash. However, there are a few things I do want to point out here, so Dev, please take them as pointers / advice: - DMG A is VERY UNSTABLE. It freezes every time I try to build an image for some reason (may just be me or my mac though!). - $30 for something you can do yourself is way too much. SimplyDisk, which does the exact same thing (and which is VERY stable and has just as many options) is more than $10 cheaper. If I had to choose, I would definitely go for SD than DA. - Try something else regarding the licenses. (Version 1.5)

BS0D Do not ever pay for this. Useless, unsafe, unpractical, well overpriced. That about sums it up. Quite honestly, it's like having one more item in the menu bar, that's pretty much just sitting there -- doing nothing at all. As noted before by another user, this developer only has useless software that he makes ppl pay ridiculous prices for. (Version 4.4)

BS0D OK, I'm really not getting the point of this app. Honestly, I do understand why it would get such a good rating because the coding is beyond a doubt of quality. It is stable and all. But why would anyone pay for this, when really any Mac comes with AirPort, which does the EXACT SAME THING? Someone please tell me, cause I got a serial with the last MUpromo but I'm having the hardest time finding a use for it... (Version 1.1.7)

NEIL_M The Airport menu does not do the same thing. If you cannot see that, it is little wonder you cannot work out what to do with it. I use it to choose the best channel for my router - to find out the channels of all nearby neighbours routers - thereby avoiding overlap > interference > subpar/poor wifi performance. Finding out about local wifi noise, from cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc. - to optimise the placement of the router. I run this weekly to health check my network. (Version 1.1.7)

AirRadar | Jul 9 2009 |
JAMESKITTY I'll grant that the majority of users will never need, nor know what to do with this application; however, those of us that work with wireless networks daily or have to troubleshoot connection problems in congested areas need a little more than the Airport menu provides. If you don't need this app, don't d/l use it. But please don't hate on it for just that reason. It's quite necessary (and works damned well!) for the rest of us. (Version 1.1.8)

I did get a little carried away in my review there, but I mean every single word I wrote. It is waaaay too expensive for what it does. And to correct what I said about the app's size, it's actually over 20Mo once installed: being a developper myself on my free time, I really don't see how you can make an app this big for doing so little! And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the developers of Paperless are bad ones, or that their customer service is bad (never had to contact them, and never will): just saying that they could use their programming skills for something more useful and most of all CHARGE LESS! Access anything you want in less than one second, all you need is to remember your shortcuts! As long as you can use your brain, you can do ANYTHING YOU WANT in no time. The only things I miss, and would like to see in Butler: - Transparent smart search window (like the one for websearch, it's stupid but it looks nicer!) - Possibility to execute terminal shell commands automatically by pasting it the same way as text. ANONYMOUS Installing CCI won't do any damage to your system whatsoever. You can disable it in the system preference pane or just uninstall it if you decide it's not for you. Just wanted to assure you on that point. It makes no permanent changes to your system and can be turned on and off as you see fit. Just be sure to use the uninstall program rather than trying to uninstall manually, and it would be a good idea to read through the documentation that comes with the download before trying it out. BS0D Wow, I just tried this today to see how it works - gave it the benefit of the doubt after my first try... Honestly, this is the worst rip-off of all time. If I could rate it 0, I would without any hesitation because it makes me so mad. I can hardly believe a developer would come up with such a useless application AND MAKE PEOPLE PAY the ridiculous price of $45 for it on top of that! It's basically a folder with jpeg files inside, except you access it through a nice little interface. Unbelievable. And does it really need to be as big as 11.6 Mo, cause I'm sure I could launch Xcode and make the same thing 2 or 3 Mo and free of charge. I'm soooo glad it was included in the bundle and this purchase was not voluntary (unfortunately it pains me to see that I still gave a bit of my money for this). Sure you don't have bundles of receipts in your closets anymore, but you still waste hours scanning them and (waste space on your hard drive), so good luck. (Version 1.0)

LLONGLEY So far so good. Been using this since it's release. The reviews for Receipt Wallet were great and a friend had upgraded from receipt wallet and really liked this software so I thought I'd try it. I use it to organize more than 5000 PDF's that were floating around my computer both work and personal items. I now have all IRS documents (checked with the IRS and its OK), paperwork from our income property, insurance policies, medical records, etc organized, tagged and easy to locate. I settled on this because after months with Yep! I had some concerns about retaining the effort i had put into it. Devonthink Pro Office was over kill for my needs, had an extremely detailed and cumbersome learning curve and I did not like the interface at all (very un-Mac like). In addition I have used Yojimbo, SOHO Notes, together and on and on. I like the fact that my actual documents were not herded into a proprietary database (this program gives you the option to not move everything). Yep also does not move your data to a database but on more than one occasion I was unable to recover my metadata (and that was a lot of work lost). Not all programs are for everyone. However, the unhelpful flaming on a program that some people clearly do not understand and have never used is counter productive to what these reviews are intended to do. I say that some of the comments are from people who have not used the program as some of the comments are "off the wall". I appreciate reviews that alerts me to a bad developer, poor developer customer service and most of all poor software functionality but I can do without the pointless flaming. Not saying this is the end all of software and I may move on if it does not continue to meet my needs. With one freeze so far all is good. With regard to OCR, the program does do OCR on the receipt side but OCR has not been added to the PDF side yet. However, most of the competition does not do OCR either. Devonthink Pro Office does but for the $100+ difference between the price tags of the two it should. But as I said, so far so good. (Version 1.0)

Let's hope the last update fixes all the crashes. It's missing a feature to automatically find the information about your movies / TV shows and stuff. Doing it manually when you have 1,000 movies is a real pain, let me tell you. Also, it would be nice to have the option to add movies to your collection that you dont have on your computer to make the database complete. Otherwise it's a pretty cool little application, although not that essential to have on your Mac. It's basically a movie database, except it adds the "wall presentation". (Version 1.0.3)

BS0D Brings a solution to the useless OS X built-in firewall, but too invasive when you configure it to max protection. this is not what you'd expect from an app that expensive. glad it was included in the MUPromo bundle because I would never have bought it by itself. Also, very painful to configure. It takes a while to figure out how it works if you're familiar with the panel... Have to say, I like Little Snitch better. It is less invasive and more discreet. BS0D TTP is definitely not a very useful app: I would never have spent 100 on it if it hadn't been included in the MUPromo bundle. I've never had to use of all the app's features (thank God), but it is practical in the way that it gathers different options as far as file / disk optimization / degragmentation is concerned. Stability is definitely good enough for my use, it has never frozen. Even though I hope I never have to resort to it, the main reason I bought it is the file recovery option.
