Sync'Em
Dec 1 2008

BED  It's really discouraging when people post comments such as the one from JAHWARRIOR, below. JAHWARRIOR wrote "However, programs that don't let you try a sync before you have to pay for it don't interest me"

The facts are:

1) there's a "Trial License" link on the MacUpdate page under the REQUIREMENTS heading -- you'll find that it's a 21-day full-featured Sync'Em Pro license for up to 2 systems

2) when you visit the Sync'Em downloads page (http://www.syncem.com/SyncEm-Download), immediately below the Sync'Em download link is "Don't forget to get your free Sync'Em Trial License ID" (where "get your..." is a link)

3) when you open the Sync'Em preference pane, the "About" tab has a "Get Trial License..." button

4) the "Installing and Uninstalling Sync'Em" section in the "Sync'Em ReadMe" document (on the downloaded disk image) contains the 1-line paragraph "To try Sync'Em before you purchase, you'll need a free Trial License."

5) the various tutorial videos go through everything in great detail -- the videos are available via the "Videos" tab in the Sync'Em preferences and via direct download on the same downloads page mentioned in 2), above

6) the "Sync'Em Requirements" section, which appears numerous places on the Sync'Em web site, states "Prior to buying, please download, install and try Sync'Em to verify that it functions in your environment..."

Now I understand how someone can miss one of these ... but c'mon, let's be reasonable.

Please, if you have an issue, make sure you're accurate. Even better, if you have an problem with a product, give the Developer a chance to understand the problem and correct it. If you do, you'll often be pleasantly surprised and will have helped make a product even better.
