XENOPHILE Right, and I tried searching Adobe's site to find the difference between the "slim" and "full" installers, only to give up after 20 minutes. WTF is the matter with these people? And WTF doesn't Adobe offer a single download for both Flash and Shockwave? Instead I've got to click through extra pages at their bloated website for updates. Makes no sense. Leopard Graphics Update | Feb 11 2008 |
MUDFLAPPER I believe some time ago Apple announced they would now release printer driver and graphics driver updates separately from OS updates. Not sure why. (Version 1.0)

Leopard Graphics Update | Feb 11 2008 |
VOLT KNUCKLE In theory, this would open the path to more frequent updates that are independent of OS updates. Before, you'd have to wait for a system-wide update before the drivers would get rolled out. We might also see the manufacturers taking a more hands-on approach to the drivers being released for their products, rather than letting Apple do it. (Version 1.0)

Leopard Graphics Update | Feb 12 2008 |
MYSTICALOS I agree. I also think that since drivers depend a lot on 3rd party improvemens first, IE, nvidia has to update their base drivers (which apple modifies for OS X) to fix certain problems. Sometimes one fix breaks another thing too. In a trouble shooting perspective drivers which apple isn't 100% in control of seperate is more logical anyway. That way if a problem starts after installing drivers apple can diagnose it better..ANd the end user can have less of a hard time rolling the update back too..since it was independant...instead of trying to roll back to 10.5.1 simply because of bad drivers, they can roll back to 10.5.2 still minus the drivers. :) (Version 1.0)

BDOG This haxie is very cool! One thing I wish it could do. I have Up-Down selected as the slide style, and it won't slide the window down if the bottom of the window is close to the bottom edge of the screen (any 'full screen' window). The same idea holds true that it won't slide down a new window if it is near the menubar (although I don't use that bit). (Version 1.3)

Apple Remote Desktop Client | Sep 12 2006 |
BDOG A year later, and here I am echoing the below comment; Maybe you should fix the issues and bugs before charging more than the OS itself. My "all computers list" has 1000+ clients in it, and if I click on that list, I am going to have to wait at LEAST 10 minutes while it updates all the status. Hey, maybe I don't want to update the status, ever think of that? Give me a stop button maybe? Copying files is still horrible, though at least it usually works on the 8 or 10th try. ARDAgent always crashes. My "get info" window doesn't work. Still many crazy keyboard bugs (sometimes it won't type or it holds down the option key without your knowledge). Many times, a client says "offline" but if you click observe, hey, there it is! Way to many bugs to be a final version (oh wait, how long ago was this released?). I hate to say it, but this app is as buggy as the Finder, if not worse. (Version 3.0)

BDOG Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been hoping someone would write a haxie for this purpose. If these were fixed, this would be perfect; 1. An option to not do anything to the dock. My dock is already hidden, and so when I click on an icon, it hides, then appears again. 2. Like previously stated, it would be nice if the app didn't see the menubar as it opened, then positions it's initial window(s) under the menubar (instead of top of the display). I understand if you can't do anything about this. 3. Expose "show desktop" doesn't respect that the menubar is hidden, but the Finder's desktop icon positions do. This makes it hard to click on the top row of icons. (I use 16x16 icons with labels below icon) I understand if you can't do anything about this. (Version 1.0)

FJOLNIR 1. Working on it. I'm almost there but there are still some bugs to be worked out 3. They will be released with the next release :) (Version 1.0)

MenuShade | May 12 2006 |
BDOG This also breaks the feature of "GeekBind" where you can use a hotkey to move windows around the screen. Menushade's window gets moved instead. The window always has focus, it probably shouldn't. Or maybe this is a bug with GeekBind. (Version 1.1)

MenuShade | May 10 2006 |
BDOG Very nice app. The best solution would be to have a regular menubar, but have it hidden, and when you mouse to the top edge of the screen, it slides down into view (just like a hidden dock) and the ability to have windows moved to the top edge of the screen, and the zoom button respecting this, ect. Now I know you can't do this because it is so low-level, but one can dream. ;-). As for you who don't want the dock icon; Go download "dockless". (Version 1.1)

BDOG YES YES YES! You have brought back a very easy way to impliment a feature I missed from the OS 9 days. I used to use this plugin called "Icon Tools" and it would make application folder icons using the first alphabetical application in the folder. Well Viou takes it to a whole new level! Now it will prompt you if there is more than one application and let you choose! It will show you the progress as it changes icons in a very nice little utility window. And you can customize the way it makes the folder icons. So you can have it position the icon perfectly, set a shadow, and all the other stuff! SWEET!!! :D (Version 2.4.2)

BILL BDog said: "Add a feature that will completely hide a dock's tabs while being a minimized drawer just like how the Apple dock is completely hidden until your cursor is on the edge of the screen (or 1 pixel away), and then I might pay for this." I'm not sure about auto-hiding dock tabs (I think that's what you meant, but if you switch apps to one that covers the tabs, they'll be out of sight. Not quite as good as having them automatically disappear. For pop-up tabs, like the Dock, go into the General tab of DragThing's Preferences and set one or more of the corner/edge options to "Bring DragThing To Front" Then, whenever you move your mouse to that corner or edge, the tabs will pop up. (Version 5.1)

DragThing | Apr 8 2004 |
BILL Me again (Bill). Just got an e-mail from the developer. If you set dock visibility to "only show in these applications", then add DragThing to the app list (if it isn't there), the dock tabs will disappear whenever you aren't actually in DragThing. Combine this with my earlier suggestion to set one edge or corner to "Bring DragThing To Front" in the General tab of Preferences, and you've got auto-hiding/pop-up dock tabs. (Version 5.1)
