The WeatherPop/Glu website seems to have been taken down now. That's good if they are no longer going to support they shouldn't sell. The closest replacement I've found is 'Meteo', a free and open-source utility. It's not as straight-forward and user-friendly as Weatherpop was. I miss the old Weatherpop menubar icon pop-down that showed all the local data with one click, and in its latest revision even showed a local radar image in the pop-down. It was great. If anybody finds anything better, or close, I'd like to hear about it. Bright Blessings, Kendall Hallett |

The WeatherPop developers, Ben and Lisa, claim a hacking of their work and loss of historical data. WeatherPop used to be an EXCELLENT utility with frequent version updates and response to weather data source glitches. Unfortunately, it has not been updated since at least Dec. 2007 according to their own website, and has ceased to be a useful utility because it no longer seems able to obtain weather data from, particularly, weather.gov. It used to be a great little utility but I no longer use it because it is so unreliable as to be easier to look out the window or go the weather.gov website myself for data. I do hope it will return to its former glory, but at this point I am rapidly becoming doubtful. I can not recommend it. |

April 23, 03 I paid Kagi 49.99 for SS 2.x Now (6/2006) Freeverse apparently bought out SS and is selling SS 3.x for 80.00 with 50 percent off for owners of SS 2.x? So I pay another 40.00 to update to v 3.x? That's a total of 90.00 for an 80.00 product. Free Enterprise is good. Paying for product development is good. But a good fleecing is priceless. Bad Freeverse. No customer. |
