BEZIERBOY I have zero problems on a 10.5.8 Intel MacBookPro running via a Cablevision cable modem connected to a D-Link wireless router. I am in the NY City area, obviously in the USA. Perhaps people having trouble should list their hardware/software configuration here, or via a comment on the developer's website at http://flavio.tordini.org/minitube This is quite nice when it works, but it would be good to know if it works on Tiger, Snow Leopard, PPC, etc. (Version 0.8.1)

Adobe Flash Player | Nov 17 2009 |
AVIDMCUSER I compared this version to the latest stable one, same youtube hd video - watching processor cpu usage for safari and the plug in... I did not find any significant improvement if any at all as on both occasions cpu usage reported by Activity Monitor was hovering between 65% - 85% with spikes to 124% when click seeking. just for comparison sake, playing an h264 720p apple trailer using quicktime plugin within safari = 11% - 20% ... This is comparable to how flash vids play under Win7 for me (and I am not trolling here as many others would strongly agree by their own experiences.) such a shame. I am still... yes still (what choice do I have) hoping to see a change for the better as future builds become available. (Version 10.1.51.45)

ERUNNO Here's what Adobe has to say: "In Flash Player 10.1, H.264 hardware acceleration is not supported under Linux and Mac OS. Linux currently lacks a developed standard API that supports H.264 hardware video decoding, and Mac OS X does not expose access to the required APIs. We will continue to evaluate adding the feature to Linux and Mac OS in future releases." So for once it doesn't seem to be Adobe's fault but Apple's by not providing the necessary infrastructure for third-party developers. (Version 10.1.51.45)

Adobe Flash Player | Nov 17 2009 |
ILGAZ Well they are clearly lying for Linux since Linux use GPU decoding at least on VLC and MPlayer for ages now. Obviously, if it wasn't a stable API, those little teams (compared to MS/Adobe/Apple) wouldn't take their time to implement it. (Version 10.1.51.45)

Audio Hijack Pro | Oct 22 2009 |
AVIDMCUSER Agreed! Rogue Amoeba Rocks! I have purchased Audio Hijack Pro as well as Nicecast. Both very useful with many great features and superbly crafted. Although I am still having some issues with Snow Leopard 10.6.1 with various apps, I am hoping an update from Apple will resolve any crackeling I am getting through 'pitch' filter using external iSight mic input. Just curious, this update is listed for the 21 Oct. but I have had this version for some time now self updated. Is it a different build? (Version 2.9.5)

AVIDMCUSER One thing I dont understand and that is the new version of uTorrent is listed today as a new software update to version 0.9.2... yet, previous comments are dated Sept 15 and Sept 16 for this same version. Hmmm. Is this really a new version that came out today??? (Version 0.9.2)

AVIDMCUSER As an addition and change of my review, I have noticed that just having it chosen in the system preferences, my core2duo intel is heavily taxed at 53% CPU - Yikes!!! Less points for value as even though it is free, its charging a heavy fee on my processors for a simple screensaver. I will have to remove it and wait for better days. (Version 1.0)

AVIDMCUSER If I could only have one option, only one... it would be to be able to slow it down and keep it there as it eases up on the eyes as well as the screen. I'd love a slow coast through space not so much of a hyperdrive, thanks for your future considerations. (Version 1.0)

AVIDMCUSER What this update IS to me: a) An excellent indication that apple is making efforts to quickly address and solve some of the problems introduced by a x.0 release b) Further refinements to an operating system of and for the future. Perhaps not perfect today but it will get there progressively. What this update IS NOT to me: An ultimate and final fix for all issues users are experiencing. Although many, I have only experienced apparent issues with third party applications that may not yet be updated for Snow Leopard compatibility and prompt efforts from the developers would be appreciated and expected as we move forward. AVIDMCUSER My previous comment was supposed to be placed below D Point's comment. I did click the reply under his post. Anyway, just wanted so say a big THANKS to Roque Ameoba for your fast efforts to support us on Snow Leopard with Audio Hijack Pro. A fantastic app that I find hard to live without. Well done!!! Money well spent!!! PS Same goes for Nicecast. (Version 2.9.3)

Apple iTunes | Jul 22 2009 |
AVIDMCUSER I find it odd that although very efficient, iTunes uses more CPU power when using the mini player than in full window mode. On my machine 4.2% vs. 2.3% (almost double when in mini player mode) just seems odd. (Version 8.2.1)

AVIDMCUSER I knew I may have that type of response if I didnt write '..enabling it...' 'enabling' is the same as 'activating' in my books and yes it was enabled / activated. wish it worked similar to Apple EQ's. VLC's +20dB and 2 pass and sound is a lot more quiet than not having it enabled / activated at all with all levels boosted by 10 dB. Just doesnt make sense to me. Some level of success at least after deleting version 1.0 wit preferences and replacing it with 0.86i - I was able to get the EQ at least operational. then removing that version and preferences and replaced version 1.0 just doesnt sound like its working properly. smcFanControl | Jul 15 2009 |
AVIDMCUSER Works great. Just wondering if its normal for the fans to take a long time to spin down after changing the settings back to default values. It is taking approximately 5 - 7 minutes for the fans to reach default speeds from maximum. Is this a symptom of inertia or a hardware pre-programmed decline for a smoother temperature transition? Any ideas would be appreciated. -Aluminum iMac 24" / 2.8ghz C2D / 2gb / 300gb (Version 2.2.2)

AVIDMCUSER @NOTAFOOL - After attempting to launch the application, did you look in your menu bar? I know you are not a fool but it 'is' the only indication after launch that in fact it has launched and the settings can be configured through the menu bar only as far as I know. The preference window is then launched where you can configure it. --just in case you missed it. (Version 2.2.2)

AVIDMCUSER Because of my previous troubles with this software (see below / above) I have decided to try the advise noted in the "Whats New" section that states: "Two virtual ManyCam camera modes (RGB and Y'CbCr) to support maximum applications. If one doesn't work please try the other." Where can this setting be found and where is the section in the help files that deals with it? For both of my troubles I am giving it a lower review. AVIDMCUSER Great features and alot of fun... one problem that puts a damper on the whole app for me is that the video is somewhat muted compared to the original source video. no matter how i try to compensate with its brightness / contrast / color setting, it seems i have only about 50% of all the levels from the original. boosting levels does not help much. so far only tried with ichat but I am expecting the results to be similar. AVIDMCUSER I also had software update troubles. After an extremely slow 31.3 Mb software update thought it had completed and asked for a restart. after preparing for installation, no progress and i had to force restart. upon restarting software update was unable to find an update server the first time. after a second attempt fewer items were shown in the update list although no updates such as QT, iTunes etc had actually installed (only downloaded at the first attempt). After downloading any remaining updates (not 10.5.7 update) preparing to install failed again and sat at 'preparing' for 20 minutes before giving up and force restarting once again. All of this happened after a fresh clean format / install. I will re-install 10.5.2 from my intel imac disks and hope for better luck. :( (Version 10.5.7)
