APPLEJACK78  The only feature iVideo Converter missed is finally here! Stitching and it works very well.

Many thanks to the DEV for making this fabulous piece of code. Thank you again.

Solid five stars ! !

APPLEJACK78  That is just plain ignorance and saying all users having problems with videovangelist are stupid and have a flawed setup.

Ok, if one or two people having problems with your tool it could be the setup.

Apparently plenty of people have issues with videovangelist. So do I. I too got applescript errors ones in a while. Is my setup flawed? No it is not. I do not have any issues with other tools.

Maybe your setup has something installed most users doesnt have?

I did try three different converters for converting to my psp and yours came out the worst.

Sorry.

APPLEJACK78  - Interface is a bit dull

- It actually works

Nothing more to say except do a make over of the interface. :)

APPLEJACK78  The3th program I found with the 'other people suggest' link. btw a nice feature of Macupdate !

- Very nice and easy to use interface. Best of the three I tested.

- Enormous amount of options to dig in. No documentation though and only some help tags.

- PSP presets actually works for my PSP3000. Great!

- Default settings gave good to very good quality.

- 2 pass encoding works like it should.

- Very good preview feature. Not seen in other converters. It actually shows the end result.

The only issue I got with ivideo converter : it has no stitching option.

For me this is clearly the best of the three I tested. The interface is really fantastic. The results are very good.

If you need a free converter you certainly need Handbrake. But if you want just that bit more ivideo converter for 7eur is a steal!

APPLEJACK78  After trying videovangelist I found this with the 'other people suggest' link.

- Interface is out dated.

- Good amount of settings to dig into.

- Quality is from average to very good

- PSP preset only plays well with H264. The default MPEG4 settings doesnt work with PSP3000

- 2pass encoding works like it should.

- Couldnt select aspect ratio.

- Not a real preview. Only a frame-shot of the source. This should be at least a shot of the destination result.

In the end it actually works very well. Good tool

APPLEJACK78  A two star rating isn't much so I do not expect much either.

Downloaded it anyway because I like the screenshot interface.

Things I noticed:

- The screenshot is not how the program is looking. In fact it is plain different and not very good.

- Dragging has a strange behavior. After you dragged a file it sweeps back to the folder.

- PSP converted files do not play on my PSP3000.

- Even on good to best quality mode it still produce mediocre movie quality. Why can I not choose a bitrate my self?

- Only 16/9 and 4/3 aspect ratios.

- 2 pass encoding doesnt work correct. In fact it gives the same result as 1 pass.

- Stitching 2 files didnt work either. Got a applescript error.

Possible there are other issues to be solved also.

At version 2.x this is not convincing for me.

32- or 64-bit Kernel Startup Mode Selector
Aug 28 2009

APPLEJACK78  I also reported a Exception error when selecting 64bit mode. Tried on two Duo 2 Core macs. But the developer just ignores this.

Ok, to be honest. This app 'could' be handy to just alter a the com.apple.Boot.plist file without fiddling with the terminal. But it simply crashes on my two Macs (running 10A432 though and maybe it works on the 'release' version).

As of being 32bit is indeed not needed but it is just kinda funny seeing this (non working) tool is made for switching to 64bit.

And if the developer is stating he will compile it to 64bit is plain bogus. Realbasic will never support 64bit compiling.

APPLEJACK78  Realbasic cannot (and never will) compile to 64bit. Unless you are recoding this in Xcode 64bit will not be possible.

BTW yes, realbasic is for wannabe 'coders'. A framework loaded bloat.

APPLEJACK78  Indeed. And it gives a Exception error when trying to start in 64bit. Great tool ... not.

BTW tried on both iMac 2.96 Ghz Duo Core and Macbook Pro 2.8Ghz

It still s*cks

APPLEJACK78  Totally unnecessary tool for Snow Leopard.

Press the 3 and 2 keys simultaneous while booting -> 32bit

Press the 6 and 4 keys simultaneous while booting -> 64bit

MARKUS WINTER  Sigh. If you don't know what you are talking about then maybe you should first read the info on the website?

For one thing the key combinations don't stick - you'll need to do them every time.

For another the main focus of the app in my mind is telling people what they have.

MARKUS WINTER  Now why would you try to force the app to start in 64bit? Do you want to give it access to 16 billion GB of RAM? Rest assured it doesn't need it ;-)

Of course it is a 32bit app - how else would it be able to run on 32bit Core Duo Macs?

If you want to expose your ignorance then I won't stop you ;-)

And why would it matter that it is written in REALbasic? Would it help you if I rewrite it in Objective-C? Would take me a lot longer and wouldn't be as much fun as programming in REALbasic but it's certainly doable.

APPLEJACK78  I am new to osx and I missed a good torrent tool.

This is by far the best for osx imo.

Clean, simple and it works without a problem.

Must have tool for torrent freaks.
