APFHEX The best Mac torrent client keeps getting better. I used to be big fan of Azureus and uTorrent because of their advanced features missing from many others. But Transmission's UI is just too good to pass up. It's the only one I've seen get it "right" - the columned layouts of the others are so bulky! Also, at this stage Transmission does have all the advanced features I care about, so that's not an issue anymore. (Version 1.42)

Cyberduck | May 30 2008 |
APFHEX Like other reviewers, I think the removal of the bookmarks drawer was a HUGE MISTAKE. This feature needs to return, I don't care if it's a drawer or sidebar or whatever. My FTPing involves a lot of changing directories and has become far, far slower with this new version of Cyberduck. =/ The way bookmarks work now is even more useless in that they open a new window. However, Cyberduck remains one of the better free FTP options. (Version 3.0.1)

APFHEX With the Leopard firewall active, I am asked if I want to allow Transmission to accept connections EVERY time I launch it. Quite annoying. (Version 0.95)

LIVINGS124 Have you checked out the firewall prefs in System Preferences? The app isn't doing anything wrong in this regard. (Version 0.95)

APFHEX I was wondering when this would be updated to match Apple's Calendar widget (which was updated ages ago)! Very nice. Works great with Leopard. (Version 2.3)

ASHAMI93 Just so you know, this latest update fixes the Leopard crashing issue. (Version 1.0.6b2)

APFHEX Looks GREAT. I know it's a beta, but I was able to use it for all of 15 seconds before everything broke and I had to re-lauch it. Could use drag n drop support for photos like how Address Book and others do it. (Version 0.2)

APFHEX I don't find GranTurismo fun, and I don't find this fun either. Maybe it's good if you like this type of racing game. Graphics were nicely done but boring looking. Sound effects were annoying. (Version 1.0)

APFHEX Looks really nice! But does it decompress SITX? And does it work with archives (of any type) that are password protected? (Version 1.0)

WAHA.06X36 It works with passwords-protected archives of *some* formats. Zip works, Rar doesn't. SITX doesn't work, as it's completely undocumented and has never been reverse engineered that I know of. (Version 1.0)

Logitech Control Center | Aug 25 2006 |
APFHEX The MX518 has the same buttons as the MX500, which has been supported for a long time. Are there additional features of the 518 that need to be supported? (Version 2.1)

Logitech Control Center | Aug 25 2006 |
APFHEX Supports all of the buttons on the MX1000. Only wish I could customize the horizontal scrolling speed of the "tilt" scroll wheel. USB Overdrive or SteerMouse may be better, but LCC is still the only option if you also have a Logitech keyboard. (Version 2.1)

APFHEX I didn't realize there was an update released for this widget, I had been using the second to oldest version! I'm glad I can now specify my own city instead of having to use the nearest major city... makes it a little more accurate. Very nifty. (Version 1.2.2)

APFHEX I was interested in this as an option to iTuneMyWalkman, which happens to be FREE. Can't use it. Window appears off screen, visible only with Exposé, making it totally non-functional. (Version 1.3)

APFHEX Best LJ client for OS X. Glad the 105 release notes were here, because they weren't on the developer's site yet. ;) (Version 1.0.5)

MPlayer | Feb 15 2006 |
APFHEX Can't seem to display subtitles when they're built-in to the file (such as in a MKV), and doesn't hide the menubar when in full screen. These two things make it unusable to for me... however MPlayer seems more capable of playing high-res H.264 video on my slow PowerBook, compared to VLC. (Version 1.0pre8 rc4)

APFHEX Version 1.5 gets rid of any complaints I had about this widget. The new retro look is very sleek! Appears to use little CPU (none when Dashboard is hidden) and no longer restarts when bringing up Dashboard. (Version 1.5)

Quicksilver | Jan 15 2006 |
APFHEX At first glance I didn't fully understand the functionality of Quicksilver and so I never really used it. But once I gave it a real, long try, I really liked it. As an application launcher it's awesome, but it also does other things. I use Triggers to control iTunes VIA hotkeys. Integrates with Growl which is just great. Lots of customizability. Takes a little while to setup when you first launch it, but it's smooth sailing from there. (Version 1.0b48)

Conversation | Dec 20 2005 |
APFHEX I've tried various IRC clients for OS X such as Snak and X-Chat Aqua, but Conversation has them beat hands down! Don't bother with anything else. Conversation just works, and is extremely "Mac-like" in its interface/features. (Version 2.14)

FontExplorer X Pro | Sep 30 2005 |
JUNPEI In terms of interface this is leagues and bounds better than either Suitcase or FontAgent Pro. It is also much faster to launch and use than the others. It is much more pleasant to manage fonts with. Auto-activation seems to have issues and is not as elegant as FontAgent Pro's. But this is not yet a final release, and it's absolutely FREE! That alone makes it worth using to someone who does not own another product. Absolutely recommended. (Version 1.0fc2)

Apple iTunes | Sep 7 2005 |
JUNPEI - I love the new interface. It's about time it got a face lift (not that it REALLY needed one, but change is good). -Improved search is good! -Elapsed AND remaining time is good! -Shuffle by Artist OR Album OR Grouping (this is new, right?) is very good indeed. Similar to feature on iPods. -Smart Shuffle slider is good! -Playlist Folders are good! -"The Complete Harry Potter" is not really a feature. (Version 5.0)

JUNPEI Everything about this is fantastic, a perfect companion to iCal. The ONLY thing I'd like is for the window size to be able to be resized a little smaller than the current smallest size, which is a bit bigger than I usually need/want it. (Version 2.1.3)

JUNPEI I really like the idea for this widget but it needs improvements: - Better design! It's unnecessarily big, and IMHO ugly. - Provide search results within the widget itself. (Version 1.0)

Barquee | Aug 6 2005 |
JUNPEI This is great. The display is very good and customizable and I've not seen another controller that has a display like this. Barquee also offers features other controllers don't in what I've tested (holding down the next/prev hotkeys to seek is super) and is just sleek and pretty. Needs some improvements (Unicode support, background transparency for themes; I hear those are coming) but is otherwise the best iTunes controller I've used. (Version 1.1)
