Menu extras are not really depreciated. They are just private.

As for the BT and clock ones. The clock extra has several features apples doesn't. Calendar, World clocks etc as you can see in the screenshot. And BT one can monitor battery levels as per the description above.

For a php or layout specialist you cant go past it.

The price is just the iceing on the cake.You wont find anything cheaper thats upto the quality of HyperEdit
