ADAM BEHRINGER  Thank you for the helpful review. I wanted to point out that the 9.2.2 and 9.2.3 updates addressed some of the concerns about export performance that you mentioned.

For detailed discussion of the recent performance improvements please see the post I just published on our blog (http://www.beedocs.com/blog/2009/10/export-performance-update.html).

Thanks again everyone. Cheers!

ADAM BEHRINGER  Just to clarify, folks with the Standard License may still download the latest versions of the software and use the standard features. We are providing full support to all of our customers and we are -not- forcing an upgrade.

However, it is true that there will only be one consolidated download instead of two separate downloads. This works similar to QuickTime / QuickTime Pro where there is only one application but the advanced features are only available to those who buy the appropriate license.

ADAM BEHRINGER  Bee Docs' Timeline handles dates back to about 1,000,000 BC. I understand that some people would like an even larger range for geological timelines.

ADAM BEHRINGER  John, I'm sorry you haven't been able to get through to me. I take pride in providing great service, so I'm disappointed that we weren't able to connect earlier. I searched my e-mails including those caught in my Spam filters and didn't find any e-mails from you...

Would you please try again? My e-mail is Adam at BeeDocuments dot com.

I did try an export to tab-delimited file and then re-imported it and it seems to work for me. Maybe if you send me your specific document I can work out what the problem is.

Thanks, Adam

ADAM BEHRINGER  Thanks for the comment CA. We are planning parallel timelines and event links for the next major release due soon after Leopard ships.

Changing colors and date formats will be allowed on a per event basis, but font face and font size will continue to be a chart level setting.

For the latest on "T2" please check out my blog (www.beedocuments.com/blog)

ADAM BEHRINGER  BNG, indeed we are working hard on a new version of Bee Docs' Timeline that should be ready soon after Leopard ships. It will have many of the features that you have requested.

For the latest info on the new version, including some screenshots of the design, check out my blog (www.beedocuments.com/blog)

ADAM BEHRINGER  This was my mistake. Word files (.doc) should be converted as of version 2.1

ADAM BEHRINGER  When you drag a file onto the application icon, the application should launch and then quit. The PDF file will be in the same location as the original file but will have ".pdf" appended.

ADAM BEHRINGER  Yes, the feature reproduces the functionality of opening a text file in TextEdit and then printing to PDF. However, this is a very manual process, so our application is useful if you need to convert many files as a batch. This new version (2.0) also allows you to do the conversion in a Automator Workflow which is not otherwise available.
