Type: ReviewDate: 16 Jun 2008 22:19This thing is ugly, bloated and buggy...! I find it totally confusing and mostly unusable, and even if you revert to the "old" Azureus GUI, it sucks as much...! Just like all those Java apps it just looks and "feels" wrong and even though it might be something for people who'd consider themselves 'power users' this is definitely far from what a good Mac app should be...

Type: CommentsDate: 2 May 2008 23:06Yes, this sure looks interesting, but of course it needs way more services included than just Sipgate...! I've been using eFax (http://www.efax.com/) for quite some time and their Mac client sucks big time, so it would be awesome to see support for the eFax service...!
I guess it's also a matter of the service providers letting you use their APIs, but I'll be looking forward to further improvements... :)

Type: CommentsDate: 25 Apr 2008 20:39First of all thanks for your reply...! :)
"The file name needs to contain S01E03, 01x03 or 01-03 to identify the video as episode 3 or season 1 of a TV Show."
Well, actually the files were named just that way...! Just as Lemming suggested in his example:
"South_Park_S12E03.avi"
"South_Park_S12E04.avi"
"South_Park_S12E05.avi"
And yet only one was recognized as a TV show and the other two ended up in movies...!? That's what I find confusing...! :-/
Anyway, I'll try the new version and experiment around a bit, let's see what I can do to get this fixed...and I'll check out your website as well then...!

Type: CommentsDate: 24 Apr 2008 19:23This sounds really promising, but I'm encountering some strange problem: I was trying to import the last three episodes of a TV show and everything seemed to work fine -- but when I checked in iTunes only one was (correctly) placed in "TV shows", the other two ended up in "Movies"...!? Makes no sense and I can't get it right, it seems...! Tried importing the files separately as well as a single folder containing all three -- the result is always the same...! :((( Any ideas or suggestions...?!

Type: CommentsDate: 24 Apr 2008 14:18Okay, sounds reasonable enough...but what if I only want to stream videos from my Mac to my ATV...?! That should work without any additional conversion then, right...?!
Oh well, I guess I'll just give it a try and see what happens...! :)

Type: ReviewDate: 11 Feb 2008 18:08Even though it's probably the best solution of its kind, I think that such an app shouldn't really cost more than maybe 10$ or so, considered the fact that there are many decent free alternatives.
That aside, it's a great, easy and really convenient application that I found to be working with all the Flahs-based movie sites that I have visited so far...!

Type: CommentsDate: 4 Feb 2008 22:52Oh come on, this still sucks...!!
I don't mean the functionality in general -- just the way how sloppy this has been stitched together...!!
Why the *beep* does it have to place two apps in my applications folder...?! I mean "Logitech Harmony Remote Software" and "remotecore" -- ever heard of bundling the contents of a Mac OS X application...?! That's what an .app is...!!
And if this wasn't enough, then it places two folders in the upper level of my Home directory...!?! Yeah, I mean "browser - logitech" and "logitech" -- again, could that stuff not be collected in one single folder and that folder then placed into Preferences or Application support or whatever...?!?
But no, they just don't care, they just spread that crap all over your system...thanks, Logitech...!

Type: CommentsDate: 24 Jan 2008 11:17Not for me...
I actually did read the help files and all and I tried everything, but maybe I just expected something else...!? I don't really see _any_ advantage in using this, none whatsoever...!?
It requires lots of manual work, everything has to be added by the user and even then it doesn't give you any additional options...
I'm not going to rate it this time, but I'm really disappointed with the whole thing...this doesn't have any use or value...

Type: CommentsDate: 23 Jan 2008 16:02Oh crap, I finally managed to get a file into the app -- this is weirdly complicated, unnecessarily strange even...! I actually have to put in all the data, then choose an empty episode by doubleclicking and then I can finally drag and drop the file on the opening sheet...!?! Jeez...
And even then it doesn't seem to import any additiaonal data from anywhere or do anything useful...?! Maybe I still don't get it but this app seems totally unintuitive and useless to me, sorry... :(((
I guess I just put my hopes up too high...
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 23 Jan 2008 15:56yeah, I read all that as well and tried it in different ways, but so far I haven't managed to add a single movie file to the app...! :(((

Type: CommentsDate: 23 Jan 2008 15:11uhm, even with AVIs nothing shows up here...!? how did you manage to add them to the app...???
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 23 Jan 2008 15:10thanks for the info, looking forward to that...!
but actually I can't get it to work at all anyhow...!? even when I copy some files to my MacBook Pro and/or manually place it either in Movies or the iWatchTV folder -- nothing shows up...!?
How's this supposed to work...?? I tried opening them with the app, I tried drag&drop, nothing...! :(
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 22 Jan 2008 16:10Sorry, but I don't get it -- how is this supposed to work...?! It says it avoids a mess of my files, but do I actually have to physically store them in the iWatch subfolder or what...?! If I do that, why would I need an app for that anyway...?!
Also alll my TV show files are on an external disk, not on my MBP, so I can't use this at all, it seems...?! Aliases won't work and I haven't been able to get anything loaded into the app...! I can't drag & drop, it doesn't seem to check and import what I have, instead I have to manually enter and edit each show again...?!? What the fragg am I missing here...??? :(((

Type: ReviewDate: 14 Jan 2008 18:25It's really a shame that so many people (yeah, mostly Windows users) are so focussed on MSN as their primary IM and thus force so many others to use it as well...!
While this app is generally better (albeit uglier) and has more features than the original client from M$ it still has lots of problems...! First of all for some reason it takes like forever to launch...!? Then it places that stupid downloads folder on my Desktop, even though I have changed that setting in the prefs countless times...aaargh...!
The (German) localization has several errors, the GUI gets messed up occasionally, video -- although it generally works -- seems to bring down the app occasionally and the whole thing has crashed on me numerous times...
Unfortunately the ones of us who happen to have friends, colleagues and family who don't know better will have to put up with all this, since there are real alternatives around...and as long as there are several major IM systems out there, there will always be need for a good multimessenger that covers it all...! But that will probably always stay wishful thinking...
(Don't start with Adium or the resurrected Proteus now, or the few options that iChat has in that area -- non of that really covers it as good as is necessary...)

Type: ReviewDate: 3 Jan 2008 14:55Much better in this new version...! It would have been nice though to have more presets (German passport, driver licence, UK documents etc.) instead of having to create those yourself, but anyway...
Localization (German/French at least) would be a nice touch as well and why doesn't it support standard keybord commands such as cmd-W for closing the active window -- instead of always being forced to click on a 'close' button...?! This should be basic stuff actually...!!
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 1 Jan 2008 21:35Wow, Proteus is back from the dead...?! How did that happen...?!? Well, I'll just give it a try then, let's see what's new...and what's in store for the future maybe...?! :)

Type: ReviewDate: 1 Jan 2008 18:33Actually setting it up and using Pando is quite easy and the options it offers are quite convenient...! I find myself using it on a regular basis now...and I even upgraded to the Pro version, which now seems to have enhanced the downloading experience for the recipients, so for me it was worth it...!
(Not sure why, but I never really grew fond of Podmailing, which is probably an interesting alternative for some...)
Unfortunately the upload speeds on my side are still kind of slow, even though I am on a rather fast connection...!? And it is really annoying that even in the full paid Pro version you have to be bothered with banner ads, just like in the free version...! For 25$ they could at least get rid of those...!?
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 28 Dec 2007 17:28Well, personally I think this was just another FireFox clone, since all those Gecko based browsers seem kind of similar to me...and I still prefer Safari on the Mac anyway...!
But even though this was among the better ones, it seems it's officially dead now, according to the news...?!?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7163547.stm
That revival didn't really last long now, dit it...?!

Type: CommentsDate: 12 Dec 2007 05:02Yes, it's a great app, more than unseful and I have been using (and paying for) this ever since I got my very first Mac ages ago...! But...
1. Can't you finally find a way to just update the app by downloading a patch within GC itself, just as so many other apps do nowadays?! Having to dl the whole app each time is really unnecessary and kind of outdated...
2. Could you please, please stop bloating this app by stuffing the multilingual documentation inside the package...!?! Why not offer the documentation as a separate download...?! Each time I dl GC I have to manually remove all that mess, which makes up almost 2/3 of the actual size of the download...
And yes, a major GUI overhaul would be more than welcome, but I guess that's kind of redundant to mention by now...!? ;)

Type: CommentsDate: 12 Dec 2007 04:51I totally agree that this is an awasome app and that the devs have put lots of thought and effort into it...! There is no better way to change icons on your Mac...!
But then again -- just how often do you ayctually do that so that it would justify spending 30 bucks on it...?! Great app and probably worth its price judging by the execution and features, but I for one really don't see me paying for something I'll probably use only once or maybe twice ever...
![]()
Type: CommentsDate: 10 Dec 2007 12:38Well, I was really hoping you guys would take your time before releasing this as a final (and commercial) version and thus not only fix the numerous errors and glitches but also add some general basic features...!?
Even not considering that you are not doing yourselves a favour with the weird GUI (which, I know, you think is supposed to increase the user experience) in this current state it is just not worth the price...! Which is sad, because it would have been nice to have a fresh new app of this kind around...but unfortunately Blogo is not it...!
People still have problems logging into their accounts, account names are not showing up in the Ping section of prefs, international characters are messed up in the preview which itself is useless because it doesn't actually show what the post would look like in the browser, and unpredictable crashes are just a few of the problems we encountered here in the short period of testing...!
Then there's the lack of features like formatting text as a list, as blockquotes or that you cannot change the alignment of text at all, you cannot save your work locally, insert a 'more' tag or any kind of code...and all that is just the tip of the iceberg...
Too bad, as it seems that there's a capable, creative team behind this...but in its current state this app is close to being useless and definitely not worth the price, especially not in comparison to powerful competition like ecto for instance...
(BTW and just to avoid any further confusion: I used to post the previous comments as 'mail21' and have changed my screen name since then...! There's no mystery behind that and no big conspiracy going on here...)

Type: CommentsDate: 5 Dec 2007 19:00I was wondering...could this be used to localize iPhone apps as well...?!
