oh please ... how many goes does it take to bring back a preference that once worked ...? It clearly says in the preferences to select which device to go Full Screen to - however, since ver. 8.0.6d - this preference failed to work as set - when it actually worked flawlessly on all previous version going back several years ... so - vers. d & e & f have still not fixed it ... - how many releases does it take to put it back to how it was ? the single star rating is deserved for not getting it right the first time ... this issue is widely known and yes - i also asked for a fix several months ago in the vlc forums - i was told the next release (e) would fix it ... but it hasn't. |

DON'T BOTHER ... if you're using a second monitor (such as a TV) on an Intel Mac running Leopard. THE EXTERNAL DEVICE PREFERENCE BUG STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED - AND ALL RECENT VERSIONS OF VLC 0.8.6d THROUGH TO 0.8.6f fail to span to device 2. USE VLC 0.8.6c (if you can find it) ... WTF ? |

Now - if they'd only release one of these 'Firmware Resets' for the entire Intel range (not just the Mac Pros) ... it would make reseting botched Firmware/BootCamp/Software Updates sooo much easier than carting your Intel Mac into the 'Geniuses' at the Apple Service Centre ... !!!! ... ps - is it just me - or does everything Apple & Mac & Intel feel like one big giant BETA !! ? |

FANTASTIC !! This tiny little piece of software does exactly what it says it does ... it literally 'downsizes' every Universal application on your Intel Mac ... and a lot of the standard PPC applications with multi-launguage files ... The standard Apple applications are the worst offenders - heavily embedded with multi-language and help files you'll never need - if your native language is English ... I saved 1.45GBs of disk space just from condensing my Apple apps with Downsizer ... like iTunes, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto, Safari etc ... they open super-quick as a result ... Definetly try this this out ... Note: as at June 17th 2006 - when I ran this, Toast 7.2 & MS Messenger 5.1.1 - that didn't work after using Downsizer ... also, read the ReadMe file first - the Developer notes other applications which won't downsize - notable the Adobe Suite and Acrobat and Microsft Office 2004 ... But overall - very nifty - and don't be freaked out you're going to damage anything - the original application is still left on your HDD untouched - so if afterwards, an application has trouble opening or won't load - just trash it and re-use the original ... ;-) |
