ANONYMOUS  Sad package. all of these "tools" are just graphical front-ends for tools existing under the hood in OS X. and as a network/security engineer, i can tell you this needs a lot of work. i almost liked it, but when i went to update the 'ports' database (which already exists in all unix systems in /etc/services), the app just hangs indefinitely, and i have to kill it.

I *did* like the HTTPS tool that lets you connect to an HTTPS server and enter HEAD/OPTIONS/GET commands directly. You have to use "stunnel" or similar tool on command line which is a pain. but overall, it needs some additional features, and a lot of fit-n-finish to be a useful tool.

Netstat and the interface monitor function were very, very slow in responding, generally making the other tools useless until those had extracted the data they were trying to display.

can't recommend it for money. learn the command line tools:

ping

traceroute

whois

netstat (-i, -n, -r, -a, etc)

dig or host for dns queries

all have man pages. would be nice to have a graphics front end on them but this tool misses the mark.

ANONYMOUS  I was one of those who paid for the previous version, because I wanted the IP to Map facility. Sadly it doesn't work well because the database he uses is so far out of date as to be useless. I asked him about this, and, no reply. Most of the other 'tools' seem to be just frontends to the tools already present in OSX like traceroute. So I can't really recommend you spend your money on this :(

This version gave me the beachball almost continually.

Sorry to be so negative, but thats my experience

ANONYMOUS  I think 'Charlie' is probably a good guy, but he's only 18, only been in IT three years at the most, and he doesn't seem to have the right attitude to getting people to try before they buy.

Also, if he's any good, he should leave REALbasic behind and write real programs.

ANONYMOUS  Net Tool Box looks like it would be a cool application. Unfortunately, thats all that you can really do in the demo period - look at it. I did two lookups, got a dialog box that says its a demo and it would not let me check out any other features. It eventually just quit on me.

This is FAR from shareware. Commercial software with a very limited demo.
