GAOSHAN  No complaints with this application. The whole BMI thing... not buying it. It says I am overweight and need to lose 25 pounds (I'm 6'5", weigh 235lbs and am strong). Well, I am not in the least fat, I bike regularly (a 10 mile ride over the hilly terrain around my home does not leave me winded) and when I told my doctor that, according to the BMI, I was fat he laughed and said that while I am clearly not overweight I should also note that BMI was so imprecise as to be mostly useless.

Seriously, your BMI is not something to pay attention to. BTW, if I lost 25 pounds I would weigh less than I did in high school and I was a scrawny, brittle, human twig back then.

RANDYHARRIS  The BMI is not the gospel to whether you are overweight or not, it is a general guideline. The Mayo clinic speaks to some concerns of the BMI:

BMI (body mass index) is a formula that uses both weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. Excess body fat is related to serious health conditions. Its biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass

Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

Inadequately evaluate health risks of people with excess abdominal fat

Talk with your doctor if you have questions about your BMI.
