AN.ONYMOUS  I Aapologize. Actually, this app enables fine tuning the compression, even differentiating the compression quality of the components of the PDF (text, graphics, color pictures, etc.

I am very impressed by how efficient and convenient this app is.

AN.ONYMOUS  This app works perfectly and the quality is impressive. Unfortunately one cannot target a specific size. There are only four options and no intermediate possibility.

****.

TAIPAN2008  I scanned some docs and, after merging them with Preview, I got an insane 11 Mb pdf file.

I checked the web looking for compress solutions but all suggestions didn't work fine for me (not enough reduction or bad output quality).

I tried PDFshrink and it worked exactly how I needed. A little bit pricey (here's way 4 stars and not 5) but it does exactly what it should do

WINET  use it since years and it works great. Probably the other with problems should have a bit of knowhow on what they doing. If jpg is compressed maximum you dont get more reduction.

For Me it works grest. Easy interface multiple jobs very stable.

ORION MK. V  Works splendidly - including 4.2.2 -- and very intuitive and customizable for your workflow. Well worth every buck of the $35.

STONEMAN  It works nicely, and it is easy to adjust the settings. The website is a bit much, I agree. I could not find out, for example, what the upgrade fee was to move from 3 to 4. But they answer their email and are friendly.

HENRIKTEKNIK  Yes, the email requirement just to view the FAQ on the product's website does leave a bitter-sour aftertaste.

CN_STEVE  Is there an 'upgrade' option for people who've paid for v.3?

Why is PDFshrink web site so aweful? In order to view the "FAQ" you have to put in your name and Email?!

And then you have to download a pdf that's almost 1MB!! It's just a text file, could have loaded in html in seconds... very bad form for a company that is promoting the 'shrinking' of pdfs...

I love PDFshrink v3. That's the only reason I haven't let the website and terrible user experience on their web page slide, otherwise I'd move on, quickly!

PDFshrink needs to get a new group of folks to work on their web site!!!

ERIC PYE  This is a great little app, which "does exactly what it says on the tin". It's fantastic for shrinking down newsletters, manuals and such that need distributing by email. It's not cheap, but compare it to some of the alternatives (Acrobat, etc), and the hit is not so hard to take.

ANONYMOUS  This is good stuff. Cheaper than the huge Acrobat suite, lot of people don't need this. PdF shrink is perfect with OS X for making light pdf
