MACMEND  I have just recently reinstalled this, with an old cordless trackman wheel. I am running 10.6.2 on an iMac and its fine in fact its better than fine, works perfectly with no issues.

Some of the issues found are related to USB software controllers and all the other USB software utilities seem to have them too

DLWHITE  I just purchased a Logitech Revolution Wireless Mouse (the one from a couple years ago that has better reviews than the newer models). But at Amazon, the consensus is that the drivers stink and to just run USB Overdrive, instead. (a shame, as I already own SteerMouse).

Reviews here are so overwhelmingly negative that I'm actually AFRAID to install the Logitech Control Center on my system! Isn't that CRAZY? These guys are the big leagues. I'd have thought they could at least sub-contract the work out to generate some solid code to run their (admittedly awesome) hardware.

ASRAI  and yet STILL no response, nor fix?!?!

Real comforting seeing how they can screw up the graphical function of an application that has nothing to do w/ their 'Control' utility.

Great job Logitech; now how about putting at least one coder on getting this rectified?!?

MACNERD1984  Poor. Now my scroll wheel button doesn't work and scrolling is ridiculously fast yet won't allow me to slow it down. loading of the System Preferences is slow now too, amnd LCC shows 2 mice to configure, identical. Yet again, this mob couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery. They're a Windows centric company who just happen to like a little extra on the side from mac users whilst providing half arsed, shabby driver software. If it didn't make me want to gag I'd buy a M$ mouse instead.

ANOMIA  This is unacceptable...

I'm on a iMac core 2 Duo 2.16mhz with 10.4.11, and I was running ver.3.0 which was acceptable.

THIS 3.1 version however, ground my machine to halt with spotty keyboard and mouse behaviour - and countless other app weirdnesses.

I know this control panel has a spotty history - fix it better than this, really it's sad you made it even worse!

MEGAMAN  3.1 screws my Tabs in Safari so I can't tell which tab I'm in.

COME ON LOGITECH!

What's it gonna take for this company to take writing software for its product seriously? I mean really. I've been using Logitech mice and keyboards for eons and cannot remember a time where their software wasn't getting canned by consumers.

All these years later and it's the same old story.

Says allot about how much Logitech listens to its customers.

KERNELG  I had been using USB Overdrive with my Logitech MX1000 for years. My various experiences with LCC were very bad: It didn't recognize all the buttons on the mouse, it relied on haxies, it was not updated for serious bugs for long periods of time. But with the recent update for Snow Leopard, USB Overdrive (and Steermouse) does not support all of the buttons on several Logitech models. A fix is promised to come soon, and while I love USB Overdrive, promised features can take years to materialize, if they ever do. Some people are also saying that setup is even more convoluted than before (try adjusting tracking speed on 20 app profiles with 2 pop-up menus each). So in the mean time, I decided to give the free LCC 3.1 a try. I took some screenshots and notes of my USB Overdrive settings then used it's own uninstaller to remove it completely.

The LCC install went smoothly and after a restart, it recognized my MX1000 with no problems. I immediately notice that tracking is a little smoother. I also notice that vertical scrolling is extremely slow and/or high resolution. Better yet, tracking speed is a universal setting and not per-application. Scrolling, however, is per-app and even on the fastest setting is still slow for some. Tweetie, for example, scrolls slower on the full setting than USB Overdrive ever did. But I'm already getting used to this.

LCC's only other drawback is that there is no application profile overlap or punch through. I cannot, for example, make a profile for iTunes and reassign only the mouse thumb buttons perform keystrokes Command-[ and Command-] for back and forward, but use my global settings for everything else. In fact, I can't find a way to even copy my global settings into a new profile to at least have a common starting point. I tried using the "nothing" assignment in the pop-up menus for other buttons, but that just made them do, indeed, nothing. I'd love to know if I'm just missing the obvious here.

On the positive side, LCC 3.1 has fixed a few problems I was having with USB Overdrive and had mistakenly attributed to the mouse. The "back" thumb button was frequently registering two clicks when I'd hit it once. Tracking was very jerky in World of Warcraft when moving the camera quickly. Horizontal scrolling was more of a horizontal 10-pixel nudge, with no auto-repeat or acceleration. I couldn't assign anything to keys F16 through F19 because these were apparently new science. All of this is now history with LCC, and I'm loving that my aging MX1000, for which there is no modern equal, may still have a couple of years left in it.

I see that all is not well in comments here, and on Logitech's own forum. As I said above, I made sure to fully uninstall USB Overdrive before installing LCC, and I don't think I had any previous LCC preferences on this machine for the new version to pick up. I'm running a Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008) 8-core with OS X 10.6.1. There are no other input drivers running. LCC 3.1 is rocking here. For free!

MANU_7312  This is possibly the worst of the worst... of the worst... EVER !!! DTRUETT1  As always, whenever I change anything involving LCC, this morning I used SuperDuper to make a clone of my boot drive, which was working perfectly.

Upgraded to LCC 3 and didn’t use the Mac all day. When I sat down, I had reason to go to Accounts in System Prefs and delete a Login Item. Where I had 16, now I have 4. I’m in the process of cloning from the backup drive, which shows all 16. As I've stated before, terrific hardware hobbled by awful software. I just don’t understand how one company can have divisions so far apart in competence.

MEGAMAN, thanks for the tip. I looked at Controller Mate and was intimidated, although I’m much more than a novice. I guess I’ll take another look.

MEGAMAN  I had a query about re-mapping the function keys on a DiNovo Mac edition which are not responsive to Keyboard Maestro.

I too hate to have to press the FN key every time I want to hit a function key.

Try using Controller Mate. http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/

It has a bit of a learning curve initially, but it's really not that difficult. I used it in conjunction with Keyboard Maestro and USB Overdrive to have my Edge and MX Revo work perfectly (even they hyper scroll).

Give it a try.

MEGAMAN  I've finally found a great alternative to LCC - it costs a couple of bucks but well worth it.

I have the Dinovo Edge for Mac - I can remap all but one key (Front Row) using a program called Keyboard Maestro.

I have the MX Revolution - I use two programs so that I can get absolutely 100% usability - USB Overdrive along with ControllerMate. And yes, all buttons on my Revo work - even the scroll switching.

It's a bit of a bummer that I have to use 3 apps to do the job of 1, but I am one totally happy camper.

DTRUETT1  I want to ditch LCC so badly, but can’t get Keyboard Maestro to remap the function keys.

I am familiar with macros, as a QuicKeys user. The problem with my Logitech diNovo (not Edge) Mac Edition keyboard is that if I test it with, say, F1 as a hot key, pressing F1 doesn’t do a thing, as out of the box the F-keys keys are “dead” without pressing the “fn” key at the same time and who wants to do that? To make KM see a function key as a hot key, I have to use the “fn” and the F-key to put it in, then it won’t work unless I press the “fn” key along with F1.

If you could help me to remap, I’d GLADLY pay the price of Keyboard Maestro and go back to SteerMouse for my Revolution MX. Anyone? Please.

MEGAMAN  I recently bought the Logitech DiNovo Edge for Mac and thought I'd give LCC the opportunity to take ownership of the new keyboard and my MX Revolution.

I played around with LCC a while ago and it seemed stable to I took the plunge and installed it again (was using SteerMouse) thinking it would be cool to have full customisation and be able to check battery status.

Well, I gave it a few days to impress me...but in the end I had to get rid of it.

First, LCC wouldn't allow my Mac to go to sleep at its designated time. I had to do it manually.

Secondly, every time my MX Revo would wake from sleep mode, it would forget the custom buttons I had set up for In Design and Illustrator - forcing me to perform a restart.

The icing on the cake? My Revo would loose its right click function all together. WTF???

I am absolutely flabbergasted that in today's day and age, with some truly amazing programs out there - many of which seem pretty simple, yet provide an invaluable function and are on the whole, robust - that Logitech are still fumbling around in the dark. Seriously, WTF is wrong with this company? They announce to the world that they have Mac compatible hardware, yet seemingly can't find a decent programmer on the entire planet to write some decent code for their stuff to work as advertised. AS ADVERTISED LOGITECH!!!!! EVER HEARD OF FALSE ADVERTISING???

Anyhow, I'm back to my trusty SteerMouse and have re-mapped the new keyboard using Keyboard Maestro - works perfectly!!!

LCC has been flawed since its inception. It would be smarter for Logitech to commission a software company to develop something that works and add value to their product range. This includes both Mac and PC drivers - from what I understand, PC drivers aren't all that much better.

Thankfully there are 3rd party developers out there who know what the hell they're doing.

Such a shame, cause Logitech make some good peripherals.

BARTLEBY1945  Bought the diNovo Mac edition about two weeks ago. Still cannot get the computer to recognize the keyboard (No Logitech Device Found.) I updated to 2.7, tried reinstalling and removing and reinstalling, repaired permissions, ran Disk Warrior, cleaned cache files, eliminated haxies—did everything imaginable, but nothing has worked. My G-5 has never been restarted so much! Oddly enough, I can find the Logitech device fine—it's right in front of me! Anyway, back and forth with Logitech and they have no ideas. It's a nice enough keyboard, but $100 for a functionless device? I don't think so.

DTRUETT1  Thanks, LIVINGLIFE. It was worth a try, but didn’t work. I tried it both with all of the install/uninstall/restarts, then adding just those LCC prefs back, and deleting the other LCC prefs and adding just the three back. No go either way.

There are so many things wrong with this software, it’s hard to know where to start. For one, I’m typing this in OmniWeb. I have a vertical scroll setting just for OW. With the Device Settings open for the mouse driver (Revolution MX), I can set the scroll slow enough so that in Click to Click mode, it’s the correct speed. I have to set speed all the way to slow and acceleration at max. As soon as I close that window, it reverts to the default scroll, which is to fast for a browser. In other words, it doesn’t remember or use the application settings.

For those who are attempting to get some Mac functionality similar to SteerMouse and a keyboard that works, here are some things I found:

• To get the scroll wheel to have any function other than Logitech’s SmartShift (the push-down setting for the wheel is grayed out by default), you need to choose vertical scroll, click the Configure DumbShift {SIC} tab, and choose to start in either click to click or free spin mode. You just have to stumble onto that one.

• For the keyboard, to use the standard function keys, if you check the box that supposedly lets you use F13-F19, it won’t work. This is just unbelievable! As an example, i went into QuicKeys to assign some keyboard shortcuts to open things in the Finder. I set F14 to open a document and LCC to let me use the Fkeys as standard function keys. So, i press F14. What do I get? Display dimming! Even on my Apple Aluminum keyboard, F1 is display dimming. When you press F16-F19 in QK, it won’t even show the keystroke.

To set up F1-F6 to act as regular, assignable function keys, I had to check the box that says use standard function keys, choose keystroke for each one, type the Fkey into “Type a key...” then go back to general and uncheck the box. That’s because the only way to get any function from F16-F19 is to use let LCC control it, then set up an action. This seems OK, but, for example, I assigned F18 to open The Hit List. I'd love to assign Command-F18 to open the Quick Entry window, but I can’t.

At this point, with the scrolling issues, I’m actually considering just going back to SteerMouse and using MaxMenus to create a popup menu with the things I use for my Fkeys from the button on the Revolution mouse.

They make such great hardware and such incredibly poorly designed software. What a shame.

LIVINGLIFE  Using LCC 2.7 with SteerMouse 3.9

Please excuse the long post . . .

Preliminary responses to earlier comments:

Don, the Uninstaller is in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder. I’ve used it a few times. To those who have had the LCC 2.7 lose a given mouse or keyboard, just do the process of re-establishing contact by pressing the related buttons on the device and the receiver and the current device will appear. I have not been able to get LCC 2.7 to display both either, but the settings seem to be stored. A restart has been reported to be able to resolve the issue.

I would be using 2.7, but the issue of F13 unable to do anything other than taking screenshots is a deal breaker for me. I need full control over the Function Keys (I use a Logitech S 530 Mac). I’ve had to go back to LCC 2.1.3.

I have also worked out a way to use LCC 2.7 AND still be able to run SteerMouse 3.9, I would be VERY interested in knowing if it is of any use to other or if someone has been able to solve the LCC 2.7 F13 nightmare! Logitech hardware is wonderful; the software is a nightmare for those who need very specific capabilities and are not interested in “bells and whistlesâ€--that’s what AppleScript is for! ;-0

---- The Steps ----

Install LCC 2.7 and then SteerMouse 3.9 separately and set them up according to your preferences. Save the preference files to a separate location--you’ll need them later as they will be getting deleted during any necessary uninstalls--this may take more than one try. The user preference files are:

LCC 2.7:

com.Logitech.Control Center.Device Settings.registry

com.Logitech.Control Center.Device Manager.plist

com.Logitech.Control Center.Assignments.registry

SteerMouse 3.9:

SteerMouse.prefs

jp.plentycom.SteerMouse.plist

These files can be edited with Property List Editor at a later time, if necessary.

Uninstall SteerMouse (if installed)

Uninstall Logitech Control Center (if installed)

With LCC version 2.7(?) the files in Applications/Utilities will be gone as well as the ~/Library/Preference files

With LCC version 2.1.3 use the Uninstall app in the LCC folder

Restart

Install SteerMouse and restore the two Preference files listed above

Restart

Install Logitech Control Center

Restart

Restore the three LCC preference files listed above

Restart

The LCC will no longer be functional, but many (if not most) of the functions established earlier may well be. I was able to still get the Caps Lock indicator in the menubar--very important to me!

Good luck; I am currently running both successfully (LCC 2.1.3 and SteerMouse 3.9), but have not yet been able to get the Caps Lock icon back into the menubar.

DTRUETT1  Try uninstalling this version.

In the installer it shows file paths at the root level that are at the ~/User level. Still shows the uninstaller in the Apps/Utilities folder, which it’s not any longer. Says you can use the installer to uninstall, which is no longer true.

I have no idea any more where the pieces of this thing are.

You’d think the engineers would take the time to update the “Important Information” in the installer, or is that too much to ask?

Not quite as flexible as USB Overdrive but... close. You can set individual app prodiles and everything.

No crashes, seems stable with Adobe CS4/Final Cut/etc.

Back to square one.. Logitech really need to test their software they release for downloading and save us all a great deal of annoyance and hair pulling.

Each new update to their LLC software has the same problems again and again.

Maybe time to try an alternative piece of mouse ware..

LCC 2.70 is available for downloading.

Problem you might experience in upgrade scenario to LCC 2.70:

- When install LCC 2.70 on top of previous version, after the first reboot, you might not see all attached devices.

- For example, S530 desktop might display either mouse or keyboard in LCC 2.70

Solution: Re-boot the system one more time should fix it.

MACGIC  This new version of LCC works perfectly. It allows a per application configuration of the buttons, and of the scrollwheel. The set of proposed features is, as far as I know, the most complete one can find among all mouse drivers. Very good work. (OSX 10.5.5, LogitechMX1100).

ETHER  I had held off updating for several versions because of all the negative comments here about things breaking. I dealt with the fact that I had to reset my wireless connector and resync my mouse before the system would recognize clicks after I woke from sleep...

Just updated to leopard, and the old driver couldn't find any logitech devices, so I gritted my teeth and upgraded.

Now the system understands that the mouse is still there after waking, I have a bunch of new functionality (including useful battery indicators), and I'm a happy camper.

I wish I'd known beforehand that the update was going to restore my device to default, so I could have written down my settings, but otherwise I'm very pleased after 3 days.

ISKIPPY  The Logitech updater recently popped up and let me know of a new version of the Logitech Control Center software (funny, I thought I was using the latest version). Wanting to make sure I was up-to-date, I went ahead and updated. Big mistake. It went and deleted all the individual application settings I'd made, so now I have to go through and try to remember how I had everything set up. To make matters worse, now I can't seem to get my MX Revolution to scroll the way it did before the update.

Thanks a lot, Logitech. Your mouse is great but your software stinks.

WETMOGWAI  I installed this and rebooted my Macbook Pro. When it restarted, as before, I saw the MX900 mouse and Elite Keyboard on the Bluetooth menu, but the Logitech Control Center says "No Logitech Device Found." None of the troubleshooting options in the help are useful for this problem. The closest option is the device isn't working, but I'm typing this on my Logitech keyboard and using my Logitech mouse.

VVARP  Version 2.6 is a definitely step forward as most of the critical bugs are non-existent right now. TextMate works as it should, there is no random app crashes, etc.

However there is one MAJOR issue: everytime when I do a right click in Cocoa based app - I am getting beachballing for 2-3 secs. Too big annoyance to live with that.

I will wait for 2.7...

FSCKTHEMEMBERSHIP!  I've used Logitech products since the beginning!

Still use the TrackMan Marble on the Platinum Mac and OS X without any additional software.

The TrackMan Wheel is a PC mouse POS without 3 finger buttons and ever since the change in software from MouseKeys (which was great in System 6-9) it's been down hill. MouseWare was the start of crap programming and whoring the company out to the Wintel crowd! With Logitech Control Center is just crap...where's the uninstall feature? Where's the stability? Where's the Leopard compatilability?

Feature state a lot of control if it worked!

Ease of use...well it's zero because most of the time we're waiting for a fix.

Stability is a minus 1 or 2!

DOUG S.  Note to Logitech: Saying you have fixed the Growl incompatibility issue is not the same as having fixed it.

It's really too bad, I love my mouse, I just HATE the software I need to run it. And so far none of the alternatives seem to be worth the money.

At least it's stable now... If nothing else it's stable. I can live without Growl until the people over at Growl figure out a way to fix Logitech's problems. How sad is that? One of the biggest input device companies is repeatedly shown up by an open source project.

OS: Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard

Computer: MacBook Pro 2,2

Mouse: Logitech VX Nano

LCC ver.: 2.6

Growl ver.: 1.1.4

Once my Logitech mouse dies I won't be buying another one, not unless some major changes happen with Logitech and their support for Mac. I'll probably go back to my Mighty Mouse. It's not perfect, but at least it's supported on both Mac and PC.

SK1069  I will never trust Logitech again.

I was a huge fan of Logitech mice, but after their so-called "Leopard-compatible" version of Logitech Control Center (version 2.5), I will never use them again.

LCC 2.5 was little more than a hack that broke other apps and constantly crashed. I had to completely wipe my hard drive and do a clean install of Leopard to get rid of LCC.

Now they have version 2.6 available. Sorry, but I just don't trust it. No more Logitech mice for me.

HPUGZ  Semi-fix for "No Logitech Device Found"

Dozens of people seem to have this problem, and as far as I can tell the installer is simply broken. I have not figured out exactly how, but this is a quick fix.

NOTE: This involves moving files into SYSTEM AREAS of your Mac. Putting files in the wrong place or deleting files could render your system useless. Proceed at your own risk.

1. Download the LCC installer. Instead of double-clicking, right-click and click on "Show Package Contents".

2. Browse to Contents -> Resources and you should see "Logitech Control Center.pkg". Right-click and click on "Show Package Contents.

3. Again, browse to Contents -> Resources and you will see "LogitechHIDDevices-XX.kext" where XX is ISO, JPN, or US.

4. Command-click on your Mac HD to open a new Finder window and browse to System -> Library -> Extensions

5. Drag the LogitechHIDDevices-XX.kext that matches your language into the Extensions directory. You may need to authenticate to do this.

6. After the kext is copied into the directory, right-click the LogitechHIDDevices-XX.kext and click "Get Info"

7. Under Ownership & Permissions -> Details, change the Owner to "system" and the group to "wheel". You may have to click the padlock and authenticate to do this.

8. Reboot and it should find your mouse now.

9. E-mail Logitech and tell them about your harrowing experience with moving system files around to make their silly software work :)

AXPHIN  We just found out that LCC 2.4 caused major issues for a few MacPros with Leopard Client 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 when trying to log in a network AD user with a Mobile account and Portable Home folder.

Logging in would show a blue screen and then would go back to the login window. Using the LCC Uninstaller app in the /Applications/Utilities folder and restarting completely fixed the problem.

We might try 2.1.1, which can be downloaded using a trick posted below, but can't seem to find 2.3.1 anywhere to download. However I'm not sure we even want to try installing anything else until Logitech gets around to fixing this issue (and hopefully not introducing more problems).

GUNNI  Using this software on a G5 iMac running OS 10.5.1, I constantly saw this,in Console, repeated over and over and over :

12/27/07 12:04:36 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.dyld) Throttling respawn: Will start in 60 seconds.

This warning always was associated with this, in Console:

12/27/07 12:03:45 [0x0-0x100100].com.apple.systempreferences[2599] 2007-12-27 00:03:45.803 Device Manager[2611:10b] LCC Scroll Enhancer loaded

LCC of course being Logitech Control Center.

So, I uninstalled LCC, installed the shareware SpeedMouse, and now I have no more of those "Throttling respawn" reports in Console.

It's annoying that I had to pay an extra $20 for SpeedMouse to get my Logitech mouse to work properly.

RINGHORNE  Go to ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac as that should have the LCC version you seek.

WARNING: I added a wireless keyboard to a wired mouse I have had for years. To clarify, both were Logitech. LCC gave me no trouble with the mouse, ever. Then the kybd was freezing my whole darn system! I tried all types of things to try to keep the problems from occurring, including downloading and installing older versions of the LCC, and nothing worked.

I got rid of the Logitech keyboard - no joke. Instantly, the mouse worked EXACTLY as it should with the LCC software. My new keyboard is NOT Logitech, and is wireless and works fine.

Guess I'll have to live with not being able to remap any of them.

Another strange thing - when I activate F-Lock to use the Function keys in their normal Apple configuration, F12 won't open the optical drive anymore. It will if I deactivate F-Lock to use the Logitech specified keys. Go figure!

FONZO  BEWARE!

I installed LCC 2.4 on my office machine, a Powermac G4 1GHz with 10.4.11 and connected a cordless Logitech Mouse. Installation went fine, the mouse worked well. But then: I wrote a Newsletter in Word 2004 (v11.3) by overwriting an older document, saved the file under the same name and wondered that there was no message about replacing the older file. When opening the new file I found, that nothing of the new text was saved, it was still the old document. This could be reproduced: Overwriting, saving (no warning message about replacing), closing, reopening, changes gone. Incredible! So, I remembered the recently installed LCC and removed every single piece of the SW (there was plethora, scattered all over the systems folder) i could find and restarted the computer. BANG! The text files appeared WITH all the changes I had made and saved. There is something seriously wrong with this release of LCC.

I was under the impression that an update meant an improvement.. I only see a step backwards.

Like so many other users I can't get my head around the fact that Logitech make such nice hardware, and deliver such crap software to drive it.

Years of producing good hardware, and as many years spent producing really pathetic software. I have to wonder if their software is is bad when using a PC..

I also have to wonder if Logitech actually care about the sub standard software they deliver to the Mac users around the globe.

PEDRO FARDILHA  It's unbelievable how buggy Logitech software is.

They should buy SteerMouse and learn how to properly make a mouse driver.

It's revolting how bad they treat their Mac users.

If it wasn't for the already mentioned SteerMouse I would have stop using Logitech devices... and the idea that I had to pay for it just to be able to properly use my mouse isn't very acceptable either.

JASON EMANUELSON  Looks like it was not very well tested - again. Won't install here on any machine. Gets to the select a volume screen and does not show any available volumes. Why am I not surprised. Logitech needs to get their act together and start giving us software that actually works. Looks like as much time went into the icon as did the installer.

DHROWE  I love my revolution Mouse EXCEPT that I cannot use the control center driver. With Tiger it locks up every couple of hours. Remove the driver and problem goes away.

Two different Intel Macs have same problem (a Macbook Pro and iMac.) Both 10.4.10

The LCC WOULD give all sorts of really nice features that would make it very sweet, but crash and NO way to really contact and bug with Logitech says it all...

EMRYS0821  I made the mistake of updating to v.2.2.2 when I got the new "VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks".

It's an awesome mouse, the software/drivers (Logitech Control Center) are just terrible. Running 10.4.10 on an MacBook and I would get at least 2 - 4 Kernel Panics a day when I had the software installed.

Read the reviews here, and read Logitech's Mac forum, lots and lots of Kernel Panics.

Check out "USB Overdrive" or "SteerMouse" as alternatives. It's just too bad that you have to pay around $20 extra to make a Logitech product work, when it should come with stable drivers.

If you require the software to get your Logitech keyboard to work, I feel your pain.

DERPLAU  Horrible, horrible, horrible! (on an Intel Mac)

I've had Logitech mice for years, and though there were some driver difficulties a few years ago I thought they'd been straightened out... until I got a new (Intel) Mac. I thought I was going to have to return the Mac itself as a lemon due to the kernel panics, interface glitches, and random hangs I was experiencing. But apparently they were all due to this toxic software on my system! Fortunately there's third-party software available that lets me use my mouse but ditch this pile.

UI GUY  I bought a Logitech MX Revolution Mouse. While the hardware is quite nice, the Logitech Control Center is a disgrace for a company as big as Logitech. Not only has it caused several kernel panics, but some of the features simply don't work (for example, the side wheel fwd/back will not invoke keystrokes, despite the fact that they can be assigned to the buttons). Based on feedback in this forum, I tried out SteerMouse, which works like a charm. How embarrassing for Logitech that a $20 piece of shareware can control Logitech hardware better than it's own software. Sheesh.

PEANUT BUTTER  Installed LCC v2.1.4 that I downloaded from Logitech. (BTW, I had both key/mouse on and the USB receiver plugged in when I installed the drivers)

Rebooted, and the control panel recognized the S530 keyboard, and sees the mouse as a S600.

Both pref panes work correctly... nice to have such control over the keys and what they do, launch, etc.

-->I am not happy with the S530 keyboard at all. It's loud, feels very cheap, looks like cheap plastic, and takes a lot of action/force to actuate the keys. Finally the caps lock has no indicator.

--> I do like the mouse. Love the extra buttons, I don't like the amount noise and feedback of the scroll wheel.

PEANUT BUTTER  An additional comment about the S530 and LCC software....

The keyboard started producing odd characters and wonky feedback. Battery already dead? So I put in on the ground and started using a diff keyboard. The LCC software no longer recognizes the mouse without the keyboard - lame.

When LCC is working, the mouse keys choices don't let me use the buttons for any expose features. I had set the back/forward buttons = to F9 and F10. That was pretty sad also for a "control center".

(I do like the mouse without the keyboard.)

ZERROEFFECT  One of the worst pieces of software and least amount of support from a major company that I have ever seen.

I bought a VX Revolution mouse, which works fine without the drivers, but lacks functionality in the multiple buttons.

I installed the latest LCC (ver 2.2.2) and rebooted only to find my device was not found. I went to Logitech's site, found the troubleshooting for this situation, laughed, and did as it said. Still no device found.

I uninstalled the latest version and, going off what others have said on the web, downloaded older versions, starting with 2.1.1. I restarted, installed the new one, restarted, then checked to see that my device STILL wasn't found. I did this for two other driver versions - 2.1.2 and 2.1.3. Still no luck.

I decided to forego the whole thing and completely uninstall the Logitech drivers. One problem: aped still starts with my mac. WTF? So I spotlighted that and removed the framework. I shouldn't have had to do that. Leaving a haxie on my system is not appreciated. If it has a use, then it's tolerable, but this is inexcusable.

Steermouse detects the mouse and works great, but it's shareware. Why should I have to pay for drivers, especially when I paid so much for the mouse in the first place?

Logitech, get your stuff together and bring out some good drivers for OS X. Judging by all the negative comments here and elsewhere, customers are not completely satisfied. Isn't that your goal? Or is the bottom line more important?

TJZEE  I have had some problems with lcc2.2.2 and some applications. It freezes the app and gives the error code of “-9870” Especially in Tex-Edit.

This from Tom Bender of Tex-Edit...

It turns out that Logitech Control Center 2.2.2 is secreting a pair of malformed "mouse moved" events when the scroll wheel is activated. Many applications simply ignore errors like this, but in TEP it results in a pair of error dialogs for each scroll wheel activation. This did not happen with LCC 2.1.4, which is available at: ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac

MAC5  This release has for the first time, caused me to revert to the previous version of LCC. I'm using the Logitech S530 Mac keyboard & mouse which is good keyboard let down by poor software.

This version does weird things when I scroll with my mouse, and the zoom feature no longer allows me to use it with most games.

Such a damn shame that Logitech produces good keyboards and mice, but such crappy software to drive them. I wonder if their software is any better on PC's ?

It makes you wonder just how much in house testing is done before these updates are released on the open market..

So far 2.1.4 hasn't been crashing every time i change 1 or 2 settings, but i'm underwhelmed.

You'd think Logitech would make their software support their own products, even discontinued ones.

LCC doesn't even support the side-to-side tilt of the MX-1000 Scroll Wheel!

"Accellerated Scroll" seems to have zero effect in apps where i've tried it.

MACPOMME  LCC 2.1.4 is a little more stable than 2.1.3 but its still unstable. I have 2 x sets of the S 530 Mac and they are going back to where I bought them from tomorrow.

Both Macs have become quite unstable exhibiting kernel panics and freezes when using the S 530 Mac. Various other bugs as well, such as:

1. Single click being mistaken for a double click.

2. Freezing after the Macs wakes from sleep, requiring the Logitech dongle to be unplugged and plagged back in.

3. Quite slow at times.

4. Functions cease to work (right now clicking the mouse wheel will not close the Dashboard) only F12 will.

I am quite shocked at my experience witha Logitech product of this calibre and in the future will probably not look favourably on other Logitech products where software drivers are required.

DWIMMERLAIK  Unlike the previous version, this one actually worked completely with my current hardware. I use a MX 1000 Laser mouse when my laptop is "docked" and a V320 Cordless Notebook mouse when I'm out and about. Up until this release, my V320 wasn't even detected by the LCC. With this release, it's now being detected correctly and I'm able to configure all of the various options.

I can relate (somewhat) to the frustration expressed by other users and I do agree that Logitech has released some crappy versions in the past, but with this latest release (2.1.4) it's actually working as it should and I don't have any real complaints.

Any improvement to the type/number of options assignable to mouse buttons?

They were pretty lousy for the MX-Revolution (which i bought to replace a worn-out MX-1000) but it broke down and went back to the shop anyway.

I got another MX-1000 and i'm using it with USB-Overdrive because i didn't want to install this garbage again.

I've never seen what's assignable to what for the MX-1000.

Not sure it will matter, since this NEW MX-1000 has developed a button skip similar to my first, but after only 2 months instead of a year. Plus the battery life has gone from several days to about 12 hours.

SHEIK YERBOUTY  I'm quite happy about the hardware but their software is jsut lame, to put it kindly.

I don't get it, a company like them would be supposed to have team of good programmers to make the best software for their hardware. But no, shareware makers beat them hands down. It's like Mini me beating the crap out of Mike Tyson.

If you need full control about your devices then go for 'USB overdrive' or just for your mice use the new 'steer mouse'. I do prefer USB overdrive, more options and it's not just limited to mice.

My advice to Logitech, fire you programmers and hire a third party to write your software. Why not ask the guy of USB overdrive to do the job? You do want happy customers, do you?

Well, let's see.

2.1.3 crashed every time i changed 1 or 2 settings.

It only provided very limited (basically useless) choices for the thumb wheel, as well as grouping forward and back movements as one setting. Ditto for side-to-side movements of the MicroGear wheel on the Revolution.

The MicroGear wheel broke down (no more clicky mode) after less than 3 weeks so the heap-o-junk went back to the store; replaced with another MX-1000, fully supported by USB-Overdrive.

Now that's broken down in just 2 Months and their solution is to offer me another Revolution in it's place which would require i go back to THEIR crappy software.

An update sounded good but all they add are a couple more uninteresting settings to it?

I have my doubts about both their hardware and software.

HAAVARD  I have a MacBook, running OSX 10.4 and I have just bought my VX Revolution Mouse from Logitech. I works smooth with the scrolling and the buttons that you can "programme". The programming of buttons only mean that you can choose their functions from a list of funtions, a small list, so you cannot customize it exactly the way you want (I have not yet found a way anyways).

My major problem however, is not that I can´t programme the buttons exactly as I want, but that OS X crashes after installing the Logitech drivers. Of course i can´t be 100% sure that it is because of Logitech CC 2.1.3, but the crashing started after installing LCC drivers. The crash is the same as a Windows blue screen of death, only it is in grey, and it says "you must restart your computer".

I blame the Logitech CC for this. Anyone know a way to circumvent the problem?

THEBATTMAN  The last few generations of the Logitech software have progressively grown worse. If it were not for me using a Logitech Elite Keyboard and MX Laser mouse, I would obviously not use it. In fact, I don't really have it for the purpose of the mouse driver.

But that being said - I have to completely uninstall the Logitech sofware about every 2 to 3 months as the same exact issue creeps up. It begins with MS Entourage - windows rapidly scroll to the bottom as soon as the mouse arrow moves over a window. Then the problem quickly spreads to other applications - but it ALWAYS starts with Entourage.

I have been in contact with MS - and they blame Logitech.

No utilities help, and the ONLY solution is to completely remove all files associated with the Logitech Control Center and re-install.

Then it all works as it is suppose to for a month or two, then it starts up again.

I keep my system up-to-date, and repair permissions on a regular basis. Logitech support is absolutely worthless. I have sent them every bit of info they have asked for and have yet to return any helpful suggestions, other than the suggestion to reinstall the software (duh).

If I can find a new mouse and keyboard by other than Logitech, I will buy it. I am sick of this unresolved issue (a year now).

And I didn't mention the fact that many application crash reports contain references to LCCDaemon....

MOGWAI1983  For goodness Sake. When a big company like logitech releases a set of drivers for a major computing platform is it too much to expect that it works?

I have had nothing but grief from this bug riddled useless heap of cack. Was it actually written by a person or did a monkey with a word processor do most of the work?

All this app seems to be useful for is interfereing with deep sleep on my G4 system, crashing the system preferences app whenever i try to configure it, and kernel panicking the machine whenever I replace the batteries in my cordless mouse (bizzarely).

The control Center randomly decides that it isn't going to work from time to time... there is no way to fix it short of manually removing every associated file (the uninstaller leaves some behind) deleting them (somehow a very satisfying action) and reinstalling it all over again. They really need to sort this out. My cordless mouse and keyboard are great products which are practical, functional and easy to use... (look quite nice too) It is a shame that they are utterly let down by the drivers.

RATTUS  I'm sorry if my review seemed a bit harsh - perhaps I overreacted (very easy to do here).

The Logitech Device Manager crashed randomly on me whenever I tried to use it. I could not assign tasks to buttons because it crashed without saving my settings every time. I didn't have any other drivers installed that could interfere with it as far as I know (just drivers for my canon printer).

If the software works well enough for you then by all means use it. Thank you for your post regarding the removal of APE, but it seemed bad form on Logitech's part to include it in the first place.

I guess I'm just angry for paying $70+ for a fantastic mouse and then finding the software unusable :)

VERYCARLA  As someone else noted, this version of the LCC DOES install Unsanity's Application Enhancer framework. However, it can be removed without any apparent ill effect.

There are three items to be removed:

The following directory:

/Library/Application Enhancers

The following items:

/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationEnhancer.framework

/System/Library/SystemConfiguration/ApplicationEnhancer.bundle

Bear in mind that the Library referenced above is not the one in your home folder. Both /Library and /System are at the root level of your hard drive. And please don't remove anything else from /System/Library/SystemConfiguration.

Remove these items and reboot. Please note you may be asked to authenticate your actions. You are deleting non-critical items so it's perfectly safe to do this.

OLD JEWEL SOFTWARE  I've used a Logitech MX310 for years now and love it, so when I was about to release Trampoline (an update to Bullseye) (http://www.old-jewel.com/trampoline/), I decided I would make a short screen movie showing how to use Trampoline with logitech's device drivers.

I installed the newest logitech control center onto a fresh install of 10.4.8 and proceeded to try to make the movie. The control center repeatedly crashed. An hour and a half later, I have about 4 movies that, if stitched together, may make for a decent tutorial, or they may just be a record of my continued exasperation as things constantly crash and fail to work.

After this frustration, I attempted to visit logitech's site to report to them the crash reports I had accumulated so that they could improve their product. I found no way at all to report a bug to logitech. I am extremely disappointed.

HAJBILL  A problem using either (a) Logitech Cordless Trackman or (b) Logitech V200 Cordless Mouse with Intel Mini 10.4.7--freezes every time upon awaking from sleep. Otherwise Trackman and V200 do well. I reinstalled 2.1.3, but the same thing happens.

Many MacUpdate users' complaints (and a few suggested solutions) are given in reviews of Logitech Control Center, but none address my specific difficulty. Logitech tech support is no help.

The Trackman was used without a hitch with a G4 10.3.7, but I may have to forget it for the Intel Mini. Any ideas for correcting this?

STORMCHILD  Can't get the software to work. I bought an MX Revolution today, downloaded LCC 2.1.3, and installed it. The mouse worked immediately after I plugged in the USB dongle (before installing any software), and the tracking seems to be smooth.

The software, on the other hand, doesn't work at all. The LCC preference pane is there, but says the same thing everyone else has been complaining about: "No Logitech device found."

I've repeatedly installed, uninstalled and reinstalled 2.1.3, 2.1.1, and 2.1.0, and they all produce that same result. I also tried manually uninstalling it by removing each file mentioned in the readme (thinking that perhaps the uninstaller works about as well as the rest of the software). I'm now fed up and tired of rebooting, and going to try USB Overdrive instead.

The mouse itself is solid, feels and works beautifully. Logitech makes great hardware, but really should fire all of its Mac developers (if it even has dedicated ones) and just hire Alessandro Montalcini (USB Overdrive author, on which Microsoft Intellipoint is based). Oh, and do something about that fugly logo. Did someone's five year old daughter draw that in school? Seriously.

RINGHORNE  I believe this will solve issues for many with problems posted here. That is, forget 2.1.3 and go back three steps. At least users of 10.3.9, maybe higher and lower OS releases: Get v. 2.1.0 from the company FTP site at

ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac

(Thanks user "Serge," for getting FTP location from Logitech and posting it here, though they told you to get 2.1.1.) Download "lcc20.dmg" file. (Yes, it will manage mouse and keyboard.)

To summarize my own waste of time: Versions 2.1.3, 2.1.2, 2.1.1, all did not work for me. I am running 10.3.9, using a G3 PowerBook. I had problems with all above noted versions until I loaded 2.1.0. It is fine, dare I say, perfect. And my original version didn't work (one that came with my keyboard a while back).

And may Logitech one day explain what was supposed to be useful in the later versions, but not listed in their documentation. Someday?

WCITYMIKE  Are the people at Logitech so very clueless about Macintosh computers that they'd install Unsanity's Application Enhancer without so much as a 'by your leave'? I kept wondering why iTunes was crashing, Path Finder was crashing, Firefox was crashing. I was thinking such a widespread and random problem meant a hardware problem. Imagine my fury when I examined an error report and found com.unsanity.ape as one of the threads running at crash. Thanks, Logitech, for making me live with three or four weeks worth of random application crashes. And actual thanks to those here who spoke of Steermouse as a pleasant replacement; so far today I'm quite pleased with it.

EGINZBURG  Logitech must be crazy. This is what I received from their tech support. It is laughable and very sad at the same time.

Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Support. My name is XXXXX and I will be assisting you with your case involving MOUSEMAN TRAVELER.

As I understand it, you're wondering where can you download the APE driver for your mouse and completely uninstall APE framework from your system. If this is not correct, please let me know.

Before proceeding further, I would like to gather some information to better understand and assist you with this issue.

1. Where did you get the APE from?

2. Did it installed together with LCC 2.1.3?

Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you require further assistance as I will be more than happy to assist you with your issue.

I'll admit, my devices are older ones, but they're not that old! Besides, Logitech actually recommends the 2.1.2 update for an Elite keyboard, if you insist on using such an outdated device. I'll stick with the first and last update to work with my Intel Core Duo mini - 2.1.1, thank you!

1. NOPE. Logitech's software is of their own doing, and nobody else's.

2. The APE framework from Unsanity doesn't "cause Mac OS X to slow down".

3. If your computer is slower after installing Logitech software, then Unsanity is obviously not your problem.

4. Mac OS X has built-in drivers that work for most mouses. Therefore, most mouses (even Logitech's) work without the need to install additional software like this.

EGINZBURG  What's the "aped" process in the activity monitor after I install lcc then? What's Scroll enhancer.ape? I suspect it is build upon Unsanity APE framework.

After i kill the 'aped' process the system is much snappier.

You can google the net and find many instances when APED is causing problems which also include kernel panics.

EGINZBURG  Some more info from Apple's discussion forum below.

Hi, Eric.

APE underlies virtually all Unsanity interface hacks. There's also a free developer version that is embedded in many third-party apps, such as some third-party menu bar extras, and even some commercial code, e.g. last I checked the latest versions of Logitech Control Center use the developer edition of APE. In such cases, you'll find APE has been installed without your knowledge.

I neither use nor recommend Unsanity's hacks and avoid third-party code that depends on APE: such hacks are often problematic, especially after Mac OS X Updates. Recently, a potential security exposure identified with APE: see "MOAB-08-01-2007: Application Enhancer (APE) Local Privilege Escalation." I can't say if this exposure has been corrected.

Good luck!

UMIJIN  Incredibly disfunctional update. Upon installing this update, my Logitech S530 Mac keyboard doesn't work as before. The keys and key combinations are totally remapped. The special media keys on both the keyboard and the mouse don't do anythign. I can't even use standard OSX keyboard shortcuts that were set up ages ago.

Worse, going to the preferences panel to change settings didn't work. Why? Because neither the keyboard or the mouse are recognized by the software.

This is unacceptable! A fix and an apology to all affected users is in order here.

Last I checked it would only do 6 lines. There is MUCH better mouse control software available, as mentioned, SteerMouse and USB Overdrive.

And if you have problems with a Logitech product, GOOD LUCK trying to get any answers through their system online. Yep.

A 3 week exchange with so-called tech support concerning LCC and the MX-Revolution yielded basically no answers from them about it's malfunction and crashing.

And concerning my complaint about the lack of certain functionality, the tech went off explaining how i COULD do it on a PC, KNOWING i'm on a Mac.

RUNSWITHSIZZERS  I too had had trouble getting my Logitech device (MX700 cordless optical mouse) to recognized by LCC 2.1.2 under Mac OS 10.4.8 on a 2001 Quicksilver. I eventually got the mouse to be recognized, but then had several crashes of the Device manager while trying to configure it.

This worked for me:

Using the LCC 2.1.2 installer, uninstall v2.1.2

Restart

Install version 2.1.1 (http://www.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac/lcc211.dmg)

GLDNSPUD  This is getting a little ridiculous. I have a Logitech G5 laser mouse and I love it.

However, I've tried installing each release of the LCC on my Intel-chip based Mac Mini for the last few months as they've come out. Each time, I am frustrated since I spend a good 20-30 minutes downloading the software, installing it, rebooting, only to find out that it "couldn't find a Logitech device attached", were at that point the driver performs less effectively than the built-in OSX drive, which means I need to run the uninstaller and then reboot AGAIN to get a decent mouse experience.

Logitech: You really REALLY need to PLEASE list in the description here a list of SUPPORTED products for the LCC. Or at least a list of UNSUPPORTED products. You'll save your customers a lot of time and hassle.

Even better would be to add code to support more of your product line. As a software developer I understand the realities though, so please at least list supported and/or unsupported products in the description of LCC. Don't make it hard to find, it just frustrates the heck out of people.

For now, I'll continue to set the DPI of my mouse manually every time I boot my computer, and I'll continue to ignore the side button that is useless with the built-in OSX driver.

MARCUS PEASTON  I recently purchased a VX Revolution mouse as a replacement for an Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse that I had originally purchased for use with a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro. While the mouse itself seems to be fine the Logitech Control Center drivers will not recognise the mouse and the preference panel simply displays the legend "No Logitech Devices Found" despite the mouse functioning with no problems. After several hours of frustration I have given up and have instead installed the SteerMouse driver instead (http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/) and, following a degree of configuration fun, have achieved the same functionality as I believe would have been delivered by the Logitech drivers.

As best as I can tell these Mac drivers are pretty rubbish and should be avoided.

KOLIS  I don't use the free spin mode on my MX revolution, I've setup the preferences to only use click-to-click. And I have assigned pressing the scroll wheel button to "button 3" (middle mouse button), which I use a lot in firefox to open/close new tabs. This works well most of the time, but sometimes the mouse "forgets" the settings and when I middle click it switches from click-to-click to free spin. This is very annoying and the easiest way I've found to overcome this is to first click it again so it returns to click-to-click, then switch to the Finder, left click on the desktop and switch back to firefox, which restores the requested behavior with the scroll wheel acting like the middle mouse button. Btw, I do not have a specific profile for Firefox, I have removed it from the LCC.

I also have a feature request. In the LCC it would be very appreciated if I could assign more specific actions to the thumb wheel. The only two choices currently available are "Switching application" and "Zoom". There is only one setting for thumb wheel rotation, I would like to have separate controls for rotate forward and rotate back, with all the options that are available for other buttons (like left mouse button). For example, I would like to assign thumb wheel forward to keystroke page up and thumb wheel down to keystroke page down. It would be nice to have these advanced settings for tilt right/left on the middle mouse wheel as well.

SERGE    I bought the MX Revolution and I've never been able to use the One-Touch Search button. It only activates Spotlight. Switching Application button doesn't work either. Worst, I got a new Mac last week and now the driver doesn't work with Safari anymore.

I must add that I wrote to Logitech explaining those issues. I told them that the source of the problem could be an incompatibility with 10.4.8. The answer : " the problem could be an incompatibility with 10.4.8 ". Paying 150 $ for a mouse and getting that kind of service gives me a pretty good idea of what Logitech thinks of their clients.

STALLEN  The program works great and is more easy too use then the Windows version. You can choose to bind a button to nothing and it's easy to understand and chose what you want to bind a button to.

The bad part is that it removes a feature at my mouse when installed. It removed the third button feature and I didn't find how to get it to work. After some reading on the net about a fix to version 1.62 about "middle button" problem and control key I got an idea. I went to "Advanced Click" and bind "Button number" to 3, choose command key option and "Click type" "Click". Now the middle button/scroll button/third button works as it should.

One question: Does this software automatically activate the encryption for cordless keyboard?

Short: Easy to use but the problem with the mouse button gives "Easy of Use" a lower score.

MACD  After reading all the negative reviews, I came to think the software is a complete piece of junk. I remember I had problems with earlier versions (so I have used the SteerMouse instead of the original drivers), but once I purchased my Revolution MX mouse I decided to give the software one more chance and it worked flawlessly! Moreover, I have switched from SteerMouse at my home computer which has MX1000 connected to it. No problems at all.

The only thing which I would like to see improved is the zoom feature (which simply just have keypresses hardcoded into the driver).

Overall, a very nice software. And mouses from Logitech are the best in the world.

MARK_CAIRNS  I have multiple MX1000's and 'Pilot' mice, all OSX10.48.

All work perfectly with no problems. Can't rate it highly enough.

LAINSNAVI  I've had three different Logitech mice since I've gotten OS X. Up until the version prior to this, There was an issue with mouse tracking if you logged out and back in. I was glad to see this was fixed by removing the option from the driver and relying only on OS X's built-in mouse tracking.

With this new release, you're now able to change a button's function per application. I've been wanting this for years! I didn't want to spend money on some third party application to do this, so I just lived with it.

I'm not sure why people have so many problems with Logitech's driver. The only problem I've *ever* had in the past 4 years is the mouse tracking issue. And I've had three different Logitech mice in that timeframe.

The driver works wonderfully for me. I'm currently using a MX500. I know the Optical Click mouse works fine with it as well. I highly recommend using this driver.

AZCURT  Ever since I got my MacBook several months ago, my S530 Laser keyboard and mouse have only partly worked. Special function keys and buttons do not - and when I open the Logitech Control Center, I get a dialog saying, "No Logitech devices detected". Very frustrating.

The latest Logitech Control Center 2.1.1 is NO better!

I've gone back to my old fave, a MacAlly Ice keyboard.

MM1POWER  I am very very disappointed with Logitech's weak effort of compatibility with my new Mac. It's ironic that I can not use the features of my cool "MEDIA" keyboard with the computer king of media, a Mac.

Logitech is not very clear for forthcoming on the download page of the LCC that this driver/tool will not help you get your BLUETOOTH keyboard/mouse connected to your Mac with the extended options.

Oh well, guess I'll have to dump all of my PC stuff and just become a 100% Apple convert eh?

(comments from a switcher with only 1 week with his new beloved Mac)

ANDREAS J. MUHR  Keeps getting worse and worse... Very bug-ridden behaviour on my PB on 10.4.7 with their S530 Combo. It forgets settings or fails to perform certain button actions e.g. after logout/fast user switching or if I didn't boot with the hardware attached (I have to reboot in order to restore full functionality), and why doesn't it migrate previous versions' settings? After each updates I have to reconfigure my settings. Also the Logitech Center isn't very user-friendly in its design (non-obvious interaction required etc.).

Unfortunately, as a combo user I can't use any other software with the mouse and keyboard (that I really like otherwise).

Logitech, work over the driver from scratch. Please.
