PSYCHOS  This is great. I can easily store things like bank account and credit card information without worrying about data theft if my laptop disappears. It would be nice to have a few more features as some people have suggested (categories with color coding, locking of elements, etc), but for the price, elegant simplicity, and functionality, LittleSecrets can't be beat.

AGLEE  Registered user since 2003.

What I like best:

* Minimal amount of structure. For this purpose I much prefer a two-pane interface to a three-pane interface.

* Instantaneous find-as-you-go search.

* Extremely reasonable price.

I also like the option to auto-detect URLs. I can look up my password for a web site and then go to that web site with one click.

DOC RENAUD  So easy to use, so simple, no hassle, and still a good useful rock solid app.

Exactly the kind of thing I like to use.

Was searching for something that can handle and password protect my notes in a very simple, quick, and effective way, at a reasonable cost, since I have no use for all the features DEVONthink or SOHONotes offers. (I tried them too).

Gave LittleSecrets a test, and registered it immediately.

ANONYMOUS  HERE'S MY ANALYSIS OF LITTLESECRETS: It is basically similiar to Devonthink (but without all the bells, whistles, and the higher cost). It would be nice if:

a) you could label (color) your folders and documents for the simplicity of prioritizing what's important and what's least important.

b) it would also be nice to be able to lock your documents and files to prevent accidental deletion.

Other than that it looks like a good clean program and well worth its price. Why did I switch from Devonthink to LittleSecrets? Simple, its called security. With LittleSecrets you have the ability to Password Protect your database with Encryption. Why is this important? Ever hear of identity theft?

I give this program 2 thumbs up! And if the developer should read this review, it would be nice to have more bells and whistles. ;)

JFM  It definitely seems to be an excellent tool for storing private information. A small detail which is not mentioned on the website, but which is useful to know: since Little Secrets has the ability to save automatically a document in progress at regular intervals, I asked the developer if those intermediate steps would be encrypted as well. His answer was affirmative.

Excellent! It means that it is possible to write a document with Little Secrets and to leave absolutely no trace on one's Mac - in contrast, using a word processor and then encrypting the text with another tool, even if the original is securely deleted, may potentially leave traces of intermediate steps of the document somewhere on the hard disk, which a very determined intruder might find. This is not the case with Little Secrets, the developer assured me: it makes it an excellent tool, which fulfills one of my needs, and certainly mthe needs of a number of other users. And all that at for a price of less than $10!

ANONYMOUS  Darn... forget what I said below. I was able to view videos and music in the app while it was open, but once I saved it and then opened it again, I couldn't. :(

ANONYMOUS  Nice app! I just tried it and found that not only can you drag in text and photos, but video and music too! It would make a nice little journal as well.

Thank you! :)

INGE-MONIKA HOFMANN  This application is so fast, I couldn't believe Jaguar can be so swift. My thinking is not delayed by rolling pizzas any more...Thanks for a great app! And the price is great to! It is par with DevonNote which will be three times the price. An DevonNote does not display that many file types. And it allows me only to use ONE file. I like to have many and to push entries in a breeze between home and work and scrapbook etc.

I was looking for a note manager and mindmapping program and was searching out DevonNote, DevonThink, Inspiration, tinderbox and Curio. All of them have their advantages. But here I found one program which is forgiving, intuitive and more than worth it's price.

LittleSecrets reads my AppleWorks files (text) instantly, much faster than if I had to open the application. It reads iData Pro files instantly. I export Inspiration 7.5 mindmaps as htm and they will show properly right away.

LittleSecrets is a joy to use. And seems to be programmed by someone who likes qualitiy over show off!

I am thrilled by the features this little app shows in heavy use. I can dump files of different kinds on if: pictures, rtf text files and plain text files. It reads htm files and all of these I can just dump in the tree area and either a note will be created or even a folder, if there are many notes to be displayed. This is what I call intuitive.

I can test if LittleSecrets displays a certain filetype (Word - it doesn't, ragtime - it doesn't, htm - it does!), but there is nothing destroyed through my experimental approach, all that happens is that it will quit right away. And when I open it again there is no data salad, but my clean files are there, the one not opened doesn't show any more.

With some files it shows the code (xml for example) right away, and even though I cannot read much, I enjoy the look into the source.

I bought it after some hours of use and I am glad I found the needle in the haystack - and I am glad to share this LittleSecret!

KALKI  This is Absolutely the BEST tool for storing private information that I have found! Small, stable, and I have just discovered it is also the BEST tool for storing Text WITH Graphics from Web pages. Using pastes from Safari 1.2, in OS X 10.3.2 it can create excellent archives of information. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

QUICK  I bought LittleSecrets some months ago and I'm very satisfied with the way it works. Now version 1.5 is out and this already very useful little app has made another big step forward.
