JAN13  New version 5.5 will NOT deliver report. We went back to version 5.4 and no problem there. We have tested a number times and it seams too, that ver. 5.5 has some problem here.

Otherwise this application is really good.

FRANI2001  This is brilliant, just what I needed. I had to give it a 4 overall rating but only for one reason. I wish it had the facility to receive incoming messages and reports. ie if an email address bounces back with a failure report it could de-activate or flag up that address. At present you have to go through the emails you receive back and manually manage the failed ones etc. Other than that though this was a real life saver for me. I was looking for a cheap app to send out a couple of newsletters and this came up with everything I needed.

BOBSTER  I just found a way around the aforementioned drag and drop issue:

- Select the recipients you want to move, and copy them

- Go to the destination list, and choose "Paste Special" from the Edit menu

It's a little bit more complicated, but at least it works! Now, if they would only make it as fast and snappy as MailDrop...

BOBSTER  I think that for overall reliability MaxBulk Mailer is the best out there, and this is after trying programs like MailDrop, DirectMail, IntelliMerge etc.

BUT! There are still two areas that badly need addressing:

- The slow interface

- Drag and Drop of recipients results in the loss of any Opt data! NOT GOOD!

Other than these issues, MaxBulk Mailer rockz!

LELAND SCOTT  I've used MaxBulk Mailer for several years now, and it's been a very reliable tool. The developers have continued to make a good tool better, and the latest is the best yet! They are always responsive to requests for help. For example, early on I had a mailing crash, and they explained how to use the mailing log to capture the unsent list. It was so simple I couldn't believe it! Now, with my mail list in Address Book, it takes no time at all to get a newsletter ready and sent out. With a switch to Verizon recently, all it took was one email to the developers and I received the exact settings needed to migrate my list. Highly recommended.

JH  I'm very happy with this program - the interface is simple, import is flawless and native OS X goodness. Tried all the other mailers for my PR business, this worked best by far.

BOB  Anonymous, please stop posting those annoying messages about spam!!!! Goodness me...

MaxBulk Mailer has been working fine for me, and continues to be improved on -- even though there are two areas that need fixing:

- slow interface

- drag and drop of multiple recipients has been only partially fixed -- only the first 3 fields get copied!

Besides these issues, I am a fan of MaxBulk Mailer and will be purchasing it.

ANTHONY STEIN  Probably the worst solution of its kind, because the last thing you can have is this tool crash during the mailing - and it does crash and has done so since version 2.x. That leaves you with a partially sent mailing list with no status on what went out and what didn't. Bought the 4.1.5 upgrade which instead of having new features had actually less Gone is the selection parameter available in version 3.x where receipients could be selected by starting letter, etc. Gone is the count of selected receipients. It crashes all the same though and does so on pretty much any configuration and OS. Worse than useless.

Customer support: non-existing.

JOHN  We have used this to mail to 500 folks at a time, and it has never crashed in the two years of using it. You might want to think about the fact that you are the only one who is having these problems... maybe the fault doesn't lie with MaxBulk Mailer.

Cheers.

ILGAZ  Bulk mail is NOT spam. You get weekly mailings from Macupdate, CNET etc? Thats it.

Spammers these days use way advanced tools to send spam including custom coded worms.

I mean, against unnecessary flaming. :)

TERRY  I'm a developer myself. I bought this software and have been using it for months to send out product announcements. It works great. It has a great feature set. I compared other products first, and they lacked the features I needed. The interface is not the best looking and it's a little clunky, but it works and it's easy to use. It gets the job done handily with no serious bugs. I would like to see more flexible email address importing.

BERNARD  I use MaxBulk since the beginnings and it is a real and powerful software to send to your opt-in list (mine is near of 20.000 emails). It works smoothly and quickly. I am not in any manner involved with the developper but I can say that his support is really good. And I use the french version, spanish version and now the english version. WITOUT ANY PROBLEM.

MICHAEL MABERRY  This software saved my business! One of our retail clothing stores was suffering from the cost of print advertising. We began asking for customer email addresses. The first bulk mail was a smash hit. Until we found OS X's sendmail and Max BulkMailer program we struggled to find a solution to sending mass mailings under our tight budget. I thank max bulkmailer everyday for its simplicity and reliability. Thank you.

JFBIII  Great program...

As our in-house double-opt-in email list grows, MaxBulk Mailer continues to be the most cost effective and easiest solution for reaching our customers regularly.

Other list software we've used often comes up short in one critical area or another. MaxBulk shines throughout the process...we send the mail we want to send, to thepeople we want to send it to, from the account we want to send it from, and it happens quickly and efficiently.

The only thing it's missing is a true logic engine that would let you set up multiple mailers to one list based on attributes assigned to each subscriber. But, considering the price, it's almost unfair to call that a shortcoming.

WILLIE D. WORMIE  This is posted after using 3.1 at the downloading of 3.2

After using to MaxBulk Mailer since 1.something, this product continues to develop as the only method to send bulk emails. When sent through a localhost mail server (as comes with OSX or other parties) you quickly and flawlessly bypass all the ugly bells and broken whistles that ISP's are erecting in the name of spam prevention.

Now if only other OSX upgrades worked this well.

PATRICK O'NEAL  By far the best bulk emailer I've tried and I've tried others - Maildrop, Entourage's "mailing list".

Fast, very efficient, easy to use.

Powerful too, I've installed the clickthrough cgi script that's included and am running PostFix on a dedicated server in our office. everything works as promised.

And we don't use it for spam!

My only wish is for templates a la Constant Contact but that may be out of the realm of this app.

MUDFLAP  Reply to Anonymous:

What software would you recommend for sending HTML emails out to 1,000 customers of a tiny wine and cheese shop that signed up for this service and would go out of business without it?

Hotmail? Yeah, I thought so, ya goof.

-------------------------------

Quick Review:

I've sent my first run of 1,000 emails with this proggie and I really liked the way everything went—SMOOTHLY. I like the emailed reports. And I REALLY appreciate the tip about activating OSX's built-in mail server. WOW. (Doesn't work with AOL recipients, but you can just send those seperately.) Super-fast. Super-reliable.

Now if I could only afford it! :-(

CP  Hey Anonamous,

Man, you put your foot in your mouth didnt you? I know you want to sound like you know what youre talking about & you're oh so very observant in your identification of the source of all spam, but I'm curious as to how you can honestly believe that there are no peopl eout there who recieve legitimate mas mailings? newsletters, invitations, product upgrade announcements, the list goes on...

But then again you're the same kind of person that would argue that guns should be illigal because there are a handfull of people out there that are too stupid to use them safely and legally, therefore EVERYONE should be penalized.

Tip: Brain cells work more efficiently when you use more than one at a time.
