ZX Please add this option!!! Preferences option allows the user to specify which Library (if any) ILM should register when it quits, so that subsequently launching iPhoto (or the other iApps) always opens the same Library. The selected Library is indicated in the Library List with a blue dot.

PABLITO the only feature that I miss is one that we used to have with iPhoto Diet, that is a way to delete originals once you have modified versions of the photo. I hope to see something like this soon in this software that is amazing!! (Version 3.5)

ROBERTCOOGAN Very useful program! I have two different libraries, one for work (on my MBP), and one for home (on my iMac). Now I can use this little app to switch between them. (Version 3.4.5)

PETER BLACK My iPhoto Library just topped 10,000 images. I've wanted to sort them for ages, so I spent an hour or thereabouts looking and trying the various iPhoto library managers and this one is clearly the cream of the crop and well worth the shareware fee. It is smooth and easy to use. I would like to see smart albums preserved when transferring/copying but I don't know if that is possible. It would also be mucho cool to have automatic syncing from the main library to other libraries containing that image. This is a great piece of software that I am enjoying using. Thanks p (Version 3.4.3)

HUBBERBUBMAN Excellent Software! I´d like to suggest just one more essential feature that would make the whole concept complete: to extract a complete library into a folder system corresponding to the album hierarchy within the iPhotoLibrary. That would be sooo useful to me. i know it is possible because there was a PPC app around which unfortunately doesn´t work on my intelmac. Please, Mr. developer! (Version 3.4.2)

NIGEL2112 May I suggest that copying album hierarchy is the whole point? If you shot Raw photos iPLM does NOT copy both the raw and processed jpeg, only one or the other. This means that if you have raw pics and tweak them (which iPhoto then saves to the jpeg version in the Modified folder of it's library) iPLM is still incapable of moving BOTH to a new library. Unfortunately, (and please correct me if I'm wrong) this shortcoming renders iPLM not much better than iPhoto Buddy. If you need to copy between libraries just use iPB or export to a folder on the desktop, restart iPhoto (with Option key held down) to pick your other library and copy folder that to the iPhoto window. I suspect it is not possible to copy album hierarchy from library to library, or the dev would have done it. But if he can do it, he'd have something worth paying for. I wish Fat Cat success in accomplishing this. (Version 3.4.2)

NIGEL2112 Ok. I stand corrected! The email I received from the developer stated quite clearly that iPhoto Library Manager DOES indeed copy file hierarchy.

J'ai fait les opérations de transfert entre les photothèques iPhoto de mon MBP et le iMac de la maison. Déconcertant de facilité, même si pas traduit en Français. Bravo au(x) développeur(s). I made the operations of transfer between picture libraries iPhoto of my MBP and the iMac of the house. Disconcerting of ease, even if not translated into French. (Version 3.4.2)

PEG DASH FAB iphoto library manager does much more than allow multiple libraries, it truly manages them. the free version has many nice features, such as inspection of library size and contents at a glance. one feature from the licensed version that i use a lot is moving a folder of photos (or an entire library) from one iphoto library to another. this is a clumsy operation if all you have is the alt key; with iphoto library manager, it's drag-and-drop. iphoto library manager is small, fast, and unobtrusive. i have used it for a loooong time and it has been completely stabile and reliable. the developers have been very responsive in tracking iphoto version changes. i replaced iphoto with iphoto library manager in my dock a long time ago. i agree that this application is worth many times its purchase price. the license that i purchased years ago has continued to remain valid across many version updates. ps: i am not connected to iphoto library manager or its developers in any way; i'm just a satisfied customer with a digital camera, an itchy trigger finger, and tens of thousands of digital images. OZ CROSBY Worth 5 times the price to me. Between iTunes and iPhoto, the disk space on our family's 3 powerbooks runs out in a hurry. This program lets us easily put just the photos each family member wants on their computer. My main desktop easily keeps track of my tens of thousands of photos by breaking them into seperate libraries. (Version 3.0.2)

PEANUT BUTTER You're commments refer more to the way that iPhoto itself creates and manages data in the finder. This program, iPhoto Library Manger 3.2.5 puts a front end on iPhoto allowing users to create multiple libraries and move photos between those libraries. It's working within the framework of libraries that Apple has designed. You are looking for a different type of media management program altogether. (Version 3.2.5)

STEVE iPhoto Library Manager had it's time, but it is no longer necessary. The description states that it does something with iPhoto that you feel just should have been included - well now it is. Even if it was free, it would be unnecessary - but it's not! It's $20 for something that the program now does with no third party solutions. Save your money, buy a couple of albums on iTunes instead! JBECHTOLD Review by Torunesol: Who need this? In iPhoto 5 you can just hold down ALT when you launch iPhoto I never saw that feature mentioned before... what key are you trying mention? I've never owned a mac with an alt key. I'd assume option... please clarify. thanks, this looks like it should do the trick. (Version 3.0.1)

ANONYMOUS ALT and Option are the same key. They should printed both on the same key. Normally, ALT printed on top, and Option printed at lower side on the same key. And true, press the option key (if you still don't know what is ALT key) when launch iPhoto, it will allow you to create new or choose existing library. (Version 3.0.2)

ANONYMOUS I was surprised about the number of people who manage to "lose access to their photos". Well, it turns out the GUI is a bit confusing about the permissions. People who just press apply without looking at the GUI will lose access to their pictures, as the action is to remove UNIX access permissions to all their photos. Easily fixed by changing owner access to read&write and pressing apply again. In normal use, you never need to press apply. (Version 2.0)

RODNEY AVILLA The old iPhoto Library Manager seems to have a great advantage over v 2.0. The old version did not make a copy of the photo added to the library. The new version does. This means I have to use double the HD memory, or delete the originals, which I don't want to do, since I have them organized in a much better way then the way iPhoto organizes them (by dates). Is there a fix to this problem, or do I have to stick with the old version? (Version 2.0)

WB I ran in to piticular problem when ordering photobooks out of iPhoto when using iPhoto manager. If the home directory is not the default iPhoto path,( user/pictures/iPhoto Library) The resulting Photobook file will loose some of the photo's in the page layouts causing blank pages. The work-around is to always use the default directory when ordering books thru iPhoto. You can also check the file before placing the order by going to "go to folder" typing- /tmp You will see an iphoto folder inside you will find a PDF file labeled "book". (Version 2.0)
