AANHORN  beware, this developer will still process your credit card order, but DON'T buy this app, it's dead, it hasn't been updated in years and the developer has apparently lost all interest in reviving it.

CORPSECORPS  Leopard?

This is so old it couldn't possibly handle Leopard icons even if it does function.

RWATTS  REGISTRATION OKAY... Have finally been contacted by developer who has been more than helpful. I am happy now to recommend this product. Seems he was sending emails but they weren't getting through. Neither of us is sure why. But alls well that ends well.

RWATTS  In Oct 2006 I sent in my registration fee and three months later, after repeated emails, still no response. Is the developer seriously ill, lost at sea, or just gone AWOL with my money? I've contacted Kagi. Do NOT pay for registration at this time.

ANONYMOUS  I paid for this program and after re-installing my OS, I needed to re-register it. problem is that my key won't work because their site has been down for the Summer. So I paid for a product and now it is completely broken. Anyone know of a hack? This is pathetic.

VKA  If you still have a copy of your old user directory, you can try to copy the file com.ittpoi.cancombineicons.plist from your old ~/Library/Preferences to your new one.

JKISH2  I don't think it's really broken, but I did notice their site is either down or gone. What sucks is I had removed it from my computer before and just now had to reinstall it, only to find out that I can't reregister the thing.

EZRA  It only technically works. Saving icons to PNG format seems dead. You're right about turning icons into black images when they get smaller. A work around for that seems to be saving the icon as a TIFF file, opening it in Preview, saving it again as a Photoshop file (via Preview, you don't need Photoshop), then pasting that back into CCI. For whatever reason, CCI can work with a pasted Photoshop images, but not certain desktop icons. That sucks, of course, but until they update it it seems to be the only way.

ANONYMOUS  Well, I use the app every day, several times a day and it works (OS X 10.3.5 on my iBook).

Granted it does have a couple of cosmetic UI bugs that in no way effect the use or output of this app. This app does work and is completely stable in my experience.

So why fix what ain't broke?

ABHI BECKERT  I can't think of any reason to upgrade it. I haven't seen any bugs, and I've owned it for more than 2 years. I can't think of any features to add either so it's not surprising that there's been no updates.

DAVID SILBERMAN  Hi,

I'm trying to register my copy of CanCombine Icons but each time I submit the registration, the application quits. I'm using OS X 10.3.4 and have moved/reinstalled software from my old computer that uses OS X 10.2.8.

Can anyone offer any suggestions for fixing this problem?

ps I've looked for a plist file but there is none.

ANONYMOUS  This would get 5 across the board if the open/shut states in folder icons worked.

Hurry up with an update.
