CORPSECORPS  Whoa! That IS slow.

Impressive features. If it was snappy, the toolbar icons made their function more obvious, it properly handled Leopard's 256 and 512 pixel icons, it would be great!

MIGUEL  You can add text through the "T" button right beside the shadow button. I do agree that the performance is poor. I think this is still a PPC app and running in rosetta makes it very unresponsive.

But if the performance issues were solved, and if it got a few UI tweaks, this thing is amazing. It's easy to use (it could use some more polishing though) but the feature set is IMPRESSIVE.

Basically the way it works is: you right click a plain folder in the Finder, choose iconcompo, and drag-and-drop the badge you want (second icon). You can customize a zillion things if you need to.

There used to be a few of these utilities a few years ago and this iconcompo seems the last to remain alive. I hope that the developer continues development.

This kind of app is essential for any icon user and I think it can reach the "mainstream" status of CandyBar. It's got a lot of potential.

DARYLF2  iconCompo has a lot of promise, but is VERY slow on my system (Mac Pro 3.0 GHz Quad Xeon with 4GB RAM running Mac OS X 10.5.1)) when launching the app or when using the sliders...

The Finder contextual menu item is likewise very useful, but messes up the Finder. After using the iconCompo Finder contextual menu item, my Finder won't respond to any AppleScript commands until I quit it and then relaunch it. Weird.

If these problems were fixed and the author added the ability to combine base icons (like folder icons) with text (like CanCombineIcons or FolderBrander), I'd buy it.

CHAS_M  Great program, but for US users the $17 price is a little hard to justify for a program one is probably only going to use occasionally.

At $10 or less I would be far more likely to buy.

CORPSECORPS  $17 seems a little high, but as far as use, i've been using Folder Icon X every few days for years.

At the rate i collect stuff and folders multiply, i need visuals to help distinguish them.

DAIO  I was seeking some software that could make custom folder icon which show what graphic files are contained in it. iconCompo is simple and ease to use but powerful software to do that. And the custom icon which made by iconCompo is excellent and beautiful.

Especially, Japanese user's guide is very good. The composition is correct and elegant. It is nice to us.
