AZRAEL It is sad that such a great product has a lack of proper development. This product hasn't seen a good version since the original developer ceased on it. Maybe it would be wise for the current maintainer to pass on the project. To a group that would actively develop for it. (Version 5.9.8)

DRSPA44 When will we see an actual application release of playerpro 5.10? 5.9.8 although runs well on classic, is getting less and less stable on tiger and on leopard with intel. I can't stand to play mods without the pattern view or box editor! Will it still be free or will it become shareware again? (Version 5.9.8)

MPROUD It's been working now
perhaps I had a corrupt preferences file or something. Thank you for your attentiveness! (Version 5.9.8)

SANDRO BILBEISI Attentiveness ? Well, only 5 months late.. :-< I've been very busy, crushed by deadlines. I will be resuming serious work on PlayerPro this week (Version 5.9.8)

STEVE i was very excited to see people are still keeping playerpro alive, i spent 5 formative years producing music with that tracker. i found i can't edit note values or volume..? is that a known bug, or not, or have i simply completely forgotten how to use a tracker?

SANDRO BILBEISI what claims do you mean? -my maintainership is approved by Antoine Rossett (the original author of PlayerPRO) - I dedicating all my free time to tackle a huge backlog of reported and unreported bugfixes. -I expect to release 5.9.8.1 (which is actually a major revision over 5.9.8) -initial CVS import of refactored code - file release of first 'clean' CVS tarball (Version 5.9.8)

AMON-RE I have reopened the good ol' PlayerPROLounge. It won't be updated anymore, but everything on it is available for those seeking information about PlayerPRO. http://amonre.org/pplounge/playerprolounge/ Some files are still there, some files arent. The PlayerPRO downloads are broken, though. For details, see http://amonre.org/pplounge/#updates Hope this is useful to you all. :) (Version 5.9.8)

UNCLEVISEN Just an advisory for those with G3's - Renoise requires a lot of raw CPU power and doesn't run well on older machines. You'll be comfortable with any speed G4. On my G3/500 it plays the samples songs but is very sluggish. Excellent app, really - just slow!!! (Version 5.9.8)

AMON-RE Unfortunately, PlayerPRO 5.9.8 can no longer be downloaded from the official site--it's shut down. I'm hosting PlayerPRO 5.9.8 on PlayerPROLounge (http://www.amonre.org/pplounge/) though: http://www.amonre.org/pub/playerpro_5_9_8.sit The PlayerPRO source has disappeared as well. If anyone has the source, *PLEASE* let me know! (Version 5.9.8)

POLARISX It's so sad to see such a great piece of software gone. Quadmation says it's dead (read this: http://quadmation.com/pphome.htm) and since it's open-source, he's not going to be working on it anymore. It'd be nice if he got to 5.9.9 though. I was excited about version 6, but it's dead. RIP PlayerPRO! The download is a .SEA IIRC, but Classic opens it fine. (Version 5.9.8)

L66 It works great here with Panther, but you have to move the "hard" volume control in the "mixer" window to the right. It is off by default under panther. It is really sad that this great piece of software is dead now... (Version 5.9.8)

| Jan 12 2004 |
ANONYMOUS You are incorrect. You can open a ".sea" file using Stuffit Expander. (Version 5.9.8)
| Jan 18 2004 |
L66 Stuffit Expander indeed works perfect for .sea files :-) Even under OS 9 you can extract such a file with Expander. But why do you give an app only one star only because it's packed in a .sea file?? (Version 5.9.8)

ANONYMOUS This is a full composer/editor/player that does midi, mp3s, QT audio, and mods. About the only thing it doesn't do is stream content. Excellent editing tools and playback controls. By far, best player for mod music (e.g. http://www.modarchive.com). Works as a conversion utility as well. (Version 5.9.8)

L66 It's a great app! It exists for a real REAL long time :-) (about 10 years i guess). It is SHAREWARE, they forget to mention that here @ macupdate, but it is the mod player with the most compatibility out here i think. And it has lot of cool features. If you want to CREATE mods with this, THEN you have to pay for it, if you want to PLAY them, then it's FREE

ANONYMOUS This software is wrongly categorized as free software, when in fact it is cripple-ware that forces you to the developer's web site before each launch, has delays, and some features unavailable. All well and good, but please advertise it as such. I rated it as freeware. (Version 5.9.5)
