LEXIS  TimeBoxed is real cool thing for Getting Things Done!

I'm a student and TimeBoxed can help me to focus on learning tasks and it makes me more productive and successful in my studies.

It's a must-have-program :)

AXEGRRL  I tried the demo, and found it too limited for my needs. Now I have trashed both the app and the installer .dmg file, but it still pops up the annoyance message "It's about time!" And I can't get rid of it. This alone would convince me to not buy the app.

MACMATION  Hello Axegrrl,

I am sorry you found TimeBoxed too limited for your needs.

To be simple is one of the goal of this application. It's a great strength for many users.

I hope you will find on the Mac market an other application that suits you better.

If you see the growl message popping up, it means TimeBoxed is still open.

No background activity or process is created: quitting the app and trashing it is all you need to uninstall it.

If you still need help, please get in touch with the support. I will be happy to help you.

RADDLE  This is a great little application. It's polished, attractive, and provides a sophisticated but unobtrusive way of segmenting your working day into manageable chunks - the better to motivate yourself. The menubar addition in this new version has made it even better. It's now a core part of my writing toolbox, and a very simple and concrete aid to getting things done.

The sole additional feature I'd like to see would be the ability to specify certain set time periods (30/45/60/90 minutes, say) and have these directly selectable from the menubar item, to trigger them immediately. The extremely responsive developer says this is on the way.

Other than that, this is perfect for my needs, and worth every penny. I will always happily pay an extra few bucks for a piece of software that nails its intended purpose, and looks great - and TimeBoxed does.

PENGMAN  Just waiting for my licence. I had hesitated slightly ($15.98 Cdn after all), but this is what I've been looking for. I tend to forget about time listening to the blues, surfing and what not and to date I've had three important events I have NOT missed, thanks to this. Remarkable.

SANDYSANTRA  This is a great new timer app for the Mac desktop. The developer has included a lot of excellent features behind what is, on the face of it, a very simple timer--which is what this app is all about. Also: the app has a lot of flexibility in terms of preferences and configuration control.

But best yet, the developer is very open to suggestions, and extremely responsive to bug reports.

Highly recommended.

SC8  Unobtrusive, pretty simple, but versatile. I like seeing progress instead of just numbers.

RICARDO BATISTA  This is the only timer app that I use and need, without it I would get lost in the computer and spent hours without taking brakes, eating or paying attention to other things that need to be done around the house. Not to mention pay attention to family.

I setup my timers based on what I am doing and the time of day/night that I start. Without Timeboxed I am lost for hours and my family is not so happy dinner didn't get done, cleaning didn't happen or I forgot to go to bed early enough (I know, it's 3:52 AM now and gotta go to bed).

You can find every possible option, and the timer is unobtrusive plus it can use awesome Growl notifications I love it!

MISTER K  Sure the price is too high. But TimeBoxed is well designed, simple, light (compare to Alarm Clock Pro CPU usage) and the OmniFocus Script is well integrated in my GTD system.

Great design for a timer but a little too expensive. With a revised price, it can potentially be the most popular timer.

PICON  I recently bought this on MacZOT and just had to counter the others that base their reviews strictly on price and not style or fuctionality. As others have pointed out, if this is not for you, fine. There are quite a few other options I agree. I for one love the style of this app and find it very useful.

GEORGEW  Nice program for a simple task and does the job well. My only complaint is their registration. You do not get a number, but a special file to register the program, so if you get a new computer or hard drive and you go to install it, you will not have anything to register it even though you paid for the program. This is a form of DRM that some programmers are adopting as their registration policy. Just like DRM for music, it stinks and users should protest this form of control for what you and paid.

ANONYMOUS  George,

If you receive a serial number, you will have to save it to a file.

With this method, you don't have to save it, just keep the file.

This registration mechanism has nothing to do with DRM: the license file has no more restrictions than a serial would.

The license is not linked to a machine. It will work on your new computer without any problem.

If you loose your license, contact us and we will resend it.

JAMWERX  This app does the job PERFECT! I dunno what the other guy on here's problem is but you shouldn't rate a product on whether or not it "fits" you, you should rate it on how well it does what it is supposed to do and this does it PERFECT! It may not have fit you but it fits me just right and I couldn't be happier..

I over the last few years I have acquired most of the more well known "alarm" apps and none of them got more than 5 minutes of use so far except for timeboxed.

Guillaume, don't let fools like that bother you, it's a great app and does it's job great.

HIGHWAY OF LIFE  As an application that is only a countdown-timer, it’s worthless. There are dozens upon dozens of applications for free that perform countdown with far more options. If you want a paid application that is a timer / countdown timer, there are many others that do more than just perform countdowns and have much greater value.

SERGESOUSZERO  Excellente application. Néamoins, pour une entreprise ayant pignon sur rue à Paris, on aurait souhaité avoir droit à une version française. Idem pour le site.

ANONYMOUS  Hi,

First let me translate your message, so everyone can join the conversation.

"Excellent application. For a company based in Paris, we could have a french localization of the application. Same for the website."

My reply:

We focused first on the application features, but, Yes, we intend to localize TimeBoxed. It will be available soon in french and other languages.

(French translation:

Nous nous sommes d'abord concentrés sur les fonctionnalités de l'application.

Cependant, oui, une traduction en français et dans d'autres langages sera disponible bientôt.)

Thank you for your comments. Feel free to contact us any time via www.macmation.com/support

THUS.SPAKE.Z   Slick and easy to use. Graphical readout of elapsed time is handy for a quick look but the addition of a digital readout for elapsed as well as remaining time would be helpful.

Adding the capability for including one's own selection of sound alert files would be nice as would a stop watch function.

ANONYMOUS  Thank you for your interest and feedback.

To play a custom sound, add a sound file in your ~/Library/Sounds folder.

After relaunching TimeBoxed, it will appear in the drop-down menu.

I will make this easier and more obvious in a next version.

I have noted your other feature requests and will try to address them as well.
