RICHARD APPLEBAUM I recently had a hard drive failure and did not have a current backup (my last backup was about 1.5 years old). Among the irreplaceable files I lost were audio tracks recorded on my iPhone using the built-in Voice Memo application. Although prior to the crash I had synced the iPhone, I had not yet deleted the Voice Memo files from the iPhone. Unfortunately, Apple does not have a solution to restore files "from" an iPhone "to" iTunes. However, there's an amazing application that bridges the "need to restore" gap -- Chris Devor's Freeware application "Pod To Mac." Using Pod To Mac I was able to restore all of my lost audio files, playlists, etc. including any music from my "Library" and "Voice Memo's" from my iPhone. How hard was it to use? TGN My need was simple: needed to reset my wife's iPod and I wanted to copy her playlists to my Mac so that I didn't have to re-create them manually. There are many programs on the web like this and virtually all of their websites were written in such poor English that I could not trust any of them. And virtually all of those other programs cost up to $30 which I was ready and willing to pay! I was pleasantly surprised to find your site and your software - it works perfectly! CNY Just updated my 13" MBP to Snow Leopard. Copied my iTunes Library to my 60Gb Classic from my iMac. Connected it to my MBP. Used Pod to Mac. Voila - my iTunes Library plus folders etc are now on my Laptop. Simple, quick, effortless and worked fully as advertised. (Version 3.02) | |

ANONYMOUS Yes. iTunes is supposed to open (this is written in the Pod to Mac FAQs). One of the first instructions in Pod to Mac (done via the apple script interface) is to pause iTunes if it is playing music as this helps with the transfer in some cases. If you have trouble with Pod to Mac it may be a result of the new iPhone 3.0 firmware which uses entirely new databases. If you e-mail the databases on your iPod (I can let you know how to find this), then I would be happy to debug the software to make it work with your iPod or iPhone (this shouldn't take more than 24 hours). support@myPodApps.com (Version 3.0) | |

PSYCHOS There is something you are missing. Please post this as something like "Pod to Mac 3.0." Not "Pod to Mac The New 3.0." People know that it's a new version when it shows up. It's kinda like if Apple released "Mac OS X Leopard The New 10.6." Or if Microsoft released "Windows Vista The New 2009." It's just not a version numbering scheme people use, and it's confusing to many people. "Pod to Mac 3.0" would be perfectly fine, and not annoy anyone as has apparently happened. CHRIS DEVOR The reason that I'm referring to Pod to Mac 3.0 as "the new 3.0," is because the version numbers got out of control a little bit (in part a result of some confusion while implementing automatic updates), and we started counting again starting at 3. So technically the versions go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, (the new) 3.0. Going forward the version numbers will increment much slower. (Version 3.0) | |

ETARTAKOFF when I transferred music from my i pod it showed the songs I chose but the actual songs that played were seemingly random not matching the titles, a Beatles song played as molly hatchet and the Beastly boys played as a selection of Mozart, a piano concerto, so I dumped this app to say the least.
