SCRIVENS  I've tried this and the previous release and I'd rate them as very early Betas at this stage. Importing? CSV doesn't work properly, tab delimited doesn't work at all - and the help pages for import/export come up blank both within the app and from the developer's website. There are many other operational problems with the software; looks promising but needs a lot more work.

ATGMAC  Scrivens, I have no problems importing or exporting. Could you email me the file you are trying to import? (to anything@fileability.net)

As for the documentation on Import/Export, you're right, I'll get that fixed.

SKAPPLIN  At about $90 plus USD this is a bit expensive compared with other freeware or shareware database utilities. Filemaker's Bento is only $50 USD, for example. EagleData is freeware, and iListData is $70 USD, and iData is $70 USD. Then there is MySQL and they many free access and form creation software to use with MySQL.

Your product is relatively new, contains obvious problems as noted by the other replier, and is more expensive. I think you may want to reconsider your pricing policy. Perhaps a single-user license for $30-50 USD may be more competitive.

I would think that Filemaker's Bento at $50 USD is a major competitor not to mention a mature and relatively problem-free product. Given the choice which would you buy?

SPARROWHAWK  I have to agree. 60 quid is a bit steep. Yes, you are giving away 3 licenses with that, but:

a) Most people only want one

b) The SQLite engine is single-user anyway, so the three installations cannot access the same database concurrently, limiting the 3 license usefulness.

I've used the trial and I like it. I'm in the market for a decent SQL-based desktop database for quick data analysis (ie with forms, scripting and reports) - if this were priced at £20 I'd probably buy it. Remember that REALbasic is available for just a little more, and that comes with an instance of SQLite built in too. Since I already have RB Pro, I can't justify the price if XBase as it is. Sorry!

Still, great looking product. Hope it keeps getting better and better :)
