NONTROPPO  After struggling to get Tunnelblick work on 10.6, I gave Viscosity a try, and boy am I happy I did. It does what it needs and no more; a sleek and functional UI, I like the details pane showing throughput and its configurability. Checking the forums, the developer seems very friendly and fast/consistent answering queries and problems. This is definitely worth the money.

DOOBIEXX  Everybody's tun tap working with 10.6? I get it to "stick" for 1 minute max... It says connected to tun0 but after a couple minutes it no longer works... well it says' it does "connected" but no net stat shows no input or output, websites can't connect etc... Would love if anyone has a clue how I can fix this or if you have ran into the same problem. I don't think it is with viscosity but 10.6?.?.? Thanks.

JBEKKEMA  Hi doobiexx,

There are no known issues with Viscosity/OpenVPN on Snow Leopard as of version 1.0.6 - it sounds like you may have a routing issue on your hands. I'd suggest jumping over to the Viscosity forum and posting a copy of your Log (available from Viscosity's Details window - click the 3rd button) and your routing table (Applicatons->Utilities->Network Utility->Netstat tab->Netstat) and we can try and track down what is happening.

The forum is located at:

DOC RENAUD  As I had to set a private VPN connection for the first time, I choose Viscosity based on other people review here at MacUpdate about different app of this kind. So I can't really compare Viscosity with the competition.

What I can say, is that it was a matter of maybe just one or two minutes to complete the setup and preferences, and that everything is running smoothly ever since.

When the free trial was over, I gladly bought a license at this very reasonable price.

DOOBIEXX  ARTOORO, your totally correct. I love this app in all ways. Beautiful, works, and responsive dev. I can appreciate it more after using all the other "crap" openvpn gui clients.

ARTOORO  Viscosity is better than any openvpn client you'll find for any platform. Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

I absolutely love Viscosity and use it every day. For the price you can't go wrong.

Viscosity makes OpenVPN fun to use (especially if you've used other clients in the past)

GREYMAN  When I saw this I jumped at it from all the issues I have with tunnelblick under leopard. The developer has been Johnny on the spot with the little issues I noticed in the beginning. With this current version all aspects of this application appear to be working properly.

OTTO_M  Importing configuration from Tunnelblick was a breeze, and Viscosity has been running for three days without a hitch.

Thanks to the developer for the work. It's great for OpenVPN users after all the trouble with Tunnelblick in Leopard.

GREYMAN  Fired it up and it imported my Tunnelblick connections without issue. Really like the details screen showing you the connection information and the growl integration. Only issue at the moment is when I go to edit one of my imported entries I get the following error:

An unexpected error occurred:

(UnboundLocalError: local variable 'serverAddr' referenced before assignment)

Hope this application remains free.

JBEKKEMA  Thanks for the feedback Greyman. I've identified and fixed the bug you experienced (thanks for posting the error), so future versions shouldn't have the problem.

I imagine I'll release the next beta version of Viscosity in a week or so, but if you'd like to get your hands on the fixed version early, feel free to contact me:

Thanks
