JUST A USER  Today´s update did not fix the problems the earlier version had, but instead introduced so many new problems that it almost got useless. Too bad.

****.

JUST A USER  seems currently the best option out of those kind of apps available.

Having issues with clipboard display when using grid or dock option, otherwise great.

BREALMORE  My update doesn't show unless you click Reply-1 so I'm posting another review and update.

** Update ** Everyone please note that the developer contacted me directly and sent a fixed update of the program in less than 24 hours! That is first class service and greatly appreciated. The program is running right now on my laptop flawlessly. I'm using with some heavy graphic files and it is rock solid. Works great with Spaces. Great app, and more importantly great developer.

** Another Update ** I've been using the app all weekend. Performed perfectly. I didn't know I needed this app until using it, now I can't stand not having it on my work computer. One of those must haves. Ahh, it's just $.

BREALMORE  Just purchased. It WILL NOT start on my MacBookPro. It crashes immediately. I just paid the $15.00. There is no message board on their site to troubleshoot either. This is outrageous. Why ruin your reputation like this?

RANDY12345  Any chance that your company or anyone else can make a clipboard program that will allow saved notes (clips) to be used on both the mac and pc sides? In other words is there any way to copy notes into your clipboard program (on the mac side). Then boot into windows (on the bootcamp, pc side) and read the same notes? Or even to make new notes on the pc side and then be able to go back to the mac side and read them?

MAC912374  Umm... That should be easy, except that we have never used Clipboard Evolved. So we don't know what 'saved notes' are (how files are saved with what format or with just one database?).

SERGESOUSZERO  To the developper,

Please, try to find someone to transltate it in French or keep it in English only instead of using Google translator. For example, the way Quick Paste menu is translated means Quick Pasta in French. :-D

ANONYMOUS  I think this version went over the deep end in the GUI department..

pasteboard applications should be minimal and unobtrusive.

EASER  I don't want to give this a star-review just yet, as I think it should be called "Clipboard Evolving." I will say that I put it near the 4-star range and that I'm buying it. I've been looking for a decent iClip replacement, and this one comes closest to it. It's a little quirky (to me) here and there, but the developer was very responsive and open to suggestions.

EASER  I did try it. It didn't work the way I needed. I'm not saying it's a bad program. People have different needs, and Clipboard Evolved works the way I want. Competition is good; everybody can find something they like.

JOLJOL2  For CE 3.0 perhaps

The Mac hot key system clip of a section of the screen.. that does not seem to paste into CE ?

Otherwise, there's lots to like here.

LEO SPILL  Bad design is off-putting.

This application is relentlessly badly designed.

On opening the dmg you get a black window

with a clipboard icon on it - That's Just idiotic.

Then I'm greeted by the weird clipboard on screen.

(Why do you need the clipboard metaphor on the floating window ?

It just takes up precious real estate.)

But the the real bug - is that on clicking the menu bar icon - no preferences open ?

Clicking the icon only activates the animation ?

RPPHOTO  Funny, all of the things you complain about are things that I like. I like the fact they are making things that appeal to well know underground artist types. Creating a mainstream ui doesn't interest me, like the eccentric thinkers with a sense of imagination and vision, always bound to be the controversial ones.

SIGIL  The developer works tirelessly to enhance the stability and functionality of C.E. As an early adopter of this product, I have watched it evolved into a "must have" app! Give it a try! I think you will be impressed. It's well worth the 15.00.

SHOTGUNWEDDINGS  Since my last review, this has gotten so much better. The visual effects are even better too.

Too bad not everyone hasn't had a bug free experience. I haven't encountered any yet since using it from the start.

Excellent software , keep up the great work.

NESSUNO  The German localization is so horrible that I can't even *guess* what that guy wanted to express. He'd better have left in English; everyone can speak English, but no one understands this would-be German gibberish.

SIGIL  The developer's recent updates have been significant ones. This app is truly ready for prime time! The only thing missing is a contextual menu option, but with this app's high level of functionality this "missing" option is easily forgotten. The interface is intuitive and customizable. The overall stability has been drastically improved! With its great price point and the developers obvious commitment to quality, this is a must have for anyone interested in increasing their productivity.

SIGIL  I don't understand what your disagreement is. Did I say that this app is "the one that brings it to OS X in the best way?" Of course you are entitled to your opinion, as am I. That said, this app is ready for "prime time!"

CPINEIRO51  Very cool. Having the option to switch between dock mode, the window, and still having the menu is a breath of fresh air. Not to mention switching between the window and dock at will. The hot keys feature is very nice too. Great job!

SIGIL  I purchased this crap last month, because of the recommendation at Apple Downloads.I was forced to force quit this application several times. Additionally, it dumped all of my data. I rarely used it. I tried to be patient in hopes that an update would fix the bugs. I will assume that version 2.0 is better, but that is a big assumption. I wouldn't know, because even though I purchased it last month my code is invalid for the latest update, which states it fixes various bugs.

Unless you want to force quit or stare at the sphere of swirling colors. STAY AWAY! it's cheaper than the other, but you pay for what you get.

Oh and no contextual menu!

BOLOBAR  How about saving some of these bug fixes and release them (best) one a month or every couple of weeks.

We know you're working hard but it is a pita to download ad nauseum.

KOBALT  Yeah, this could work in my workflow. Just one request - can we have a contextual menu so it'll be possible to send the clip to a particular clipboard by right-clicking the to-be-copied item?

SHOTGUNWEDDINGS  Incredible, as the name of this handy clipboard implies, it has evolved!

Now there is nothing missing, it has multiple clipboards.

One minor note though would be a prompt to cancel or ok when "Clear All" command is used. Might save someone some hair pulling for being too quick on the draw :)

Excellent work !!!

SHOTGUNWEDDINGS  The only thing is missing additional pages for the clipboard so we can have more items allowed.

But this is far better than some of the other ones , I really like the ability to ignore my copying and pasting and just drag items into it that I really want to keep there.

Very cool, great job!

MAC OS X 4EVER  Just as broken as before.

They list that they fixed the right-click crash, but I still get the spinning ball of death and Activity Viewer says it's not responding and taking 95-97% CPU.

I have to force quit it.

All I did was load the app, clicked on the menu bar, then right-clicked on the clipboard window as it says to do to get to the options.

This kills it EVERY TIME.

I have yet to see it work.

I will try another update or two as I see them until I give up.

My MacBook Pro is totally stable and nothing else locks up.

I have 4GB of RAM and Leopard with ALL updates.
