LEV  Very nice app, and very Mac-like. I had a router crash and could only solve the problem by re=installing FarFinder but since I use a crufty BT-badged SpeedTouch router I'm inclined to blame that rather than FF.

Logging on remotely is a breeze. In some ways it's easier that Back To My Mac, which can occasionally go AWOL without apparent reason. I spend a fair amount of the year away from home so instead of trying to pre-empt every possibility by taking a chock-full laptop, I can just take what I /think/ I'm going to need and backhaul anything I turn out to need unexpectedly.

The setup is straightforward. No tecchie skills required. Only problem I had was setting up gmail SMTP for emailing files direct from FarFinder. But a quick check on the gmail site solved that (a port problem. Use Server port 465 and SSL and your full username (foo.bar@gmail.com, not just foo.bar) and you should be fine.

Haven't really tested it to death in the wild, but so far looks like a damn fine piece of life insurance.

LAUGHINGRAIN  A great app that has saved my hide a few times already. Easy to install and set up so you don't have to be a network guru like you do with some sharing apps. Didn't work correctly at first (see comment below) but has been running like a dream on my iMac ever since. Recommended!

LAUGHINGRAIN  This is a great app - very slick piece of work and has saved my hide a few times already! There were a couple of dodgy releases at first which the dev writes about on his blog, but once they were fixed it ran first time for me.

Muppets like GARY WHITE below should stop wasting space with their cr*p. In my experience there are very few apps out there that actually don't work - why would a dev bother putting them out?

GARY WHITE  What a complete bucket of horse dung this program really is!!

After installing infront of any firewall, and with the internal firewall for Mac Leopard turned off, it still refuses to work.

The Restart button for restaring the daemon does not function, after creating a login name it stated there was none configured on the status window, I could not connect onto my system using this software, and I can't even uninstall it cause I get an error.!!!

Steer well clear chaps, it's truly a buggy piece of crap,

SKIPCOM3  Hi Gary, I downloaded to see if you were right. Well the results is that it works great for me. And i am running the same system as you are. So it can't be the program. I would try and reinstall it.

AKROBAT  Leopard only? :-( Pity.

My Desktop running Tiger would be useful with this app. after all it stays at home.

My laptop runs Leopard but I take my laptop with me.

COOLMEMIN  I would just like to add, because it hasn't been quite mentioned yet, that the developer is EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE to questions. He helped me troubleshoot a problem I had through over 10 emails without losing his patience. I love this little program :)

RIXM  At $20 I'd be willing to give it a shot, but with the rumored remote functionality in IPhone 2.0 software just around the corner & with the google code Telekenesis app available for the time being, I'll wait and see Apple produces in the 2.0 iPhone code.

Cheers

RPPHOTO  This is really slick (truly Mac-like), and surprisingly easy to use. The setup is so so so easy that I thought something was missing at first. I love this one. The price is not bad if you look at the competition, which sometimes involves annual fees.

COOLMEMIN  For what it does I find this little program very useful. There have been several times I can think of that being able to email a file to myself from my phone would be a life saver. I bought it at the intro price of $20 but I think $35 is a little too much for it. Good piece of software though.
