ANON BUD Well. After several more hours of working with this program, my original comment stands. I really like the idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired and the price is way too high for what you get, IMO. Spend a bit extra and buy iWork 09. Numbers has a nice little template for travel information that is way easier to navigate. You can always add whatever notes and journal information you desire. If you want map info, you can add url links to your favorite map site. It prints up much nicer than Knapsack, too, where the notes come out in gray and difficult to read... Plus, if you buy iWork, you get Pages and Keynote! Ill keep an eye on this app, hoping that theyll release something that is more intuitive and with a nicer, more navigable mapping system like Google Earth. But for now, Ill take a pass. ANON BUD Just a very quick review after using for only a couple of hours. I really like the concept and believe this has great potential however a few things are a bit maddening to me: 1) No detail in the closest zoom of maps (everything is too pixelated) making pin placement very arbitrary. I have to search the exact coordinates of each place in order to make sure the pin is placed correctly. It would be very nice if this feature used Google Earth technology to make pin placement much quicker and easier. Even having a search function of map coordinates would be better than what is currently in place. 2) Adding notes to itinerary items can be confusing in that a carriage return is not as simple as hitting return but you have to enter control-return. Trial and error gave me that one. Plus I can only see one line at a time when adding notes. Why is this? 3) The price seems a bit steep to me. The GUI is nice and all that, but some of the input methods are just not all that Mac-intuitive to me. Im not sure Ill buy this. I am currently planning a trip overseas and will see how well this does it. (Version 1.1.1)

SANJEET86 I know this is covered in the FAQ, but I was curious as to what DC yelpers felt made a good review. These things are, after all, largely subjective, and I find myself trying to find a balance between cataloging places I've been and providing something useful for others. At the same time, I find myself sometimes frustrated with the brevity or lack of detail in other reviews - what made a place so spectacular? why was your food so delicious or awful? LOPAN 1. Good interface, Looks like it will work for what I want it to. 3. I have had a couple of blowups already but it is a new release of something that doesn't exist anywhere else to my knowledge so I am more willing to put up with it. 4. Web site doesn't have a forum. It needs one for proper feedback. Blogs are ok for announcing info but a forum makes or breaks it. (Version 1.0)

DRUMSHANBO I think it would also be neat to have a forum area specific for parts of the world (i.e. Europe, North America, etc.) where people could share their Knapsack itineraries. (Version 1.0)

MACMARIA I agree with the above comments. Nowadays, a forum dedicated to an app is a must -- it helps the users both technically and on sharing ideas and knowledge. Knapsack would benefit from that. Extra Note: this app has a very cool icon. :) (Version 1.1.1)

DRUMSHANBO I am one that likes to plan out trips well in advance, and also revisit past trips, so this program caught my eye when I first saw it. I've been playing around with this for the past couple of days, and though fun and easy to use, there are a couple of things I think (though I am not a developer) the developers might want to consider. Firstly, the map used in Knapsack looks awful when you zoom all the way in. I'd prefer them to use Google Maps instead (though there is a link that takes you to Google Maps), or something more detailed. There were multiple activities I pinned in Paris, and it's not possible to pick specific activities from the map without having to click the horde of pins multiple times until you find the activity you're looking for. It'd be nice if you could get in closer to specific areas (ala Google Maps) on the map so you can plan or access more specific memories. Also, since the pins ask you for longitudinal and latitudinal positions, it'd be swell if you could search for specific places (cities, restaurants, etc.) within Knapsack, instead of having to find the information somewhere else. Secondly, I wish you could add photographs for each activity in the itinerary. It would also be nice if you could add multimedia to activities as well. For example, I have a short video I made of the Eiffel Tower lighting up and would love to be able to access it from the itinerary. This would help "re-live" old trips. Those are the two major things that come to mind. I'll keep playing with it during the trial period, and then I'll decide whether to buy it or not. (Version 1.0)

CHRIS@TPS First of all thank you for your feedback. Its been quite hectic since we launched Knapsack just 2 short days ago. We were immediatey featured on Apple's download page and so we've received an amazing amount of positive feedback. When we first started designing Knapsack we had a lot of great ideas about where we wanted to take it. With the support we've been receiving we are assured that we will that we are on the right path and that we will get there. Enhancements to the map as we as iPhoto integration are two items that are high on our priority list. So please bare with us as we grow Knapsack to its full potential. Our plan was always to grow Knapsack organically taking into large consideration where our users wanted to see Knapsack go. So please keep the feedback coming. No one us more enthusiastic than we are about the possibilities, and we strongly feel that Knapsack 1.0 offers something valuable for Mac using, travel loving enthusiest. Afterall, we are too :). DRUMSHANBO After hearing back from the developers and being convinced of their plans to continue developing this software I've decided to purchase it. I am very excited to watch it grow! (Version 1.0)

ANON BUD Too bad that the zoom in on maps still stinks. And it's been over a year and a half since the developer said they were going to work on it? (Version 1.1.2)
