VIKING_THE  Download link appears to be broken - source website is "out of business". Anyone know of other sources? (10-13-08)

STEVE R  I give this 5 on everything but stability because it occasionally crashes when stopping the Daemon (both 10.4/10.5 and with the past three versions of SABnzbd+) However, that little quirk aside, this menu bar app is excellent for a quick peak to see how the downloads are going with SABnzbd+ because it is green when all are done, red when stopped (usually telling me I've run out of available hard drive space) and blue when things are running fine. Combined with Menu Meters to monitor bandwidth, and of course SABnzbd+ THE BEST APP EVER now with working RSS) I am regularly downloading at full bandwidth, something that has never happened with Unison, Drop NZB or Thoth. I'm at a loss to explain why the Mac community has not embraced these two apps. Maybe they like sitting at their computers verifying, repairing and joining segments? Me, I prefer doing something else with the hours I get back every week from having the SABnzbd+ do it all for me.

Well done to the developer.

PEN_SQ  OK, the writeup misses the point. This is part of a background app to download binaries from usenet. There is a firefox plugin mentioned on the blog that integrates this with usenet search websites, so you can click any find straight into a download queue. Looks like a bit of a bother to set up, but should be very slick once you do.

Another app for dealing with usenet is pan, which is available via darwinports.
