NIGHTHAWK090  Nice program....one thing I feel that is missing is a "skew" or free transform tool, seem to use it quite a bit in most of my other programs.......add that, it has my vote. If it is there, can't find it.....just find an angle option.

JOHN F.  The Inspector is much too long. When you have an old Mac with 1024x768 screen, the underside of Inspector Window disppears under my Dock. And you can't collapse certain parts of the Inspector, like other apps do. While these old G4 Macs are not state-of-the-art, they are quite capable machines to do light graphic stuff. But the size of the Inspector Window just bugs me.

SCOTTISHWILDCAT  Great little lightweight vector design tool, but (for my purposes) let down by poor quality of SVG imports.

LineForm costs roughly the same amount and imports even complex SVGs perfectly, but has a less polished UI.

I guess I'll be sticking with the (free) Inkscape.app for now, which has the advantage of saving natively to SVG too...

SPACEMANSPIFF  VectorDeigner has been a fun, educational experience for me, a newbie vector artist. It's fun and easy to use, and very accessible. There are good powerful features here, and they're simple to use and surprisingly powerful.

The new "VectorDesigner Video Tutorials" have been excellent, extremely helpful for a newbie like me or perhaps for a vector artist looking to quickly learn a few new helpful features.

I recommend VectorDesigner to anyone looking for a clean and simple intuitive vector application. Great stuff!

HENRIKTEKNIK  I have one huge beef with this app:

The toolbar button for Path editing (called 'Sketch') needs to be split into two separate buttons... one for path, and one for smooth path.

...AND, I really don't like that it automatically switches to the Select tool once you've closed/finished working on a path.

In other words, I'd like to click the path button and then directly start working: i.e. _not_ having to choose between normal path or smooth path editing.

And again, I can't stress this far enough: please make it so that you keep the path editing tool activated after making a path!!

Other than that, the application is slowly beginning to take form.

SILLA  VectorDesigner is fun and easy to use, and the developer was very quick to answer my emails about bugs and feature requests. I saw some complaints in previous reviews about bugs with the layers, image fill, shadows, etc. - in this version (1.2) they have been fixed.

I recommend VectorDesigner to anyone looking for a fun, simple and intuitive vector application. The Flickr browser is pure genius, and the raster to vector conversion very useful. It's also fun to play around with the iSight integration and effects, and convert them to vector.

DAMPEOPLES  I got this after trying several other apps, looking to make stuff for my websites, and couldn't be happier with it. While being new to this, I've had a lot of questions, and the developer has answered each one, and I'm sure most of them were basic questions, in less than a day. Some of my questions about other apps are still unanswered to this day on other software support forums. Most of the new video tutorials have been around, especially if you've seen the SCO podcasts. Would love to see some sort of user generated tutorials specific to this app, that's one thing I wish the dev would add to the site. Crowdsourcing the type of questions I, and possibly others, might have, is a good idea :) Especially considering that a good number of users got the app by default, in a Heist or something, and didn't seek it out because they felt it was the best in the field, or fit their needs.

EDWOOD  Very nice and easy vector drawing application.

Particulary good the integration with Flickr and the Leopard filters.

The version 1.0.5 is very stable.

It looks like the MacDraw of the future !!

NIVENH  a few bugs of note...

- in a test drawing, filter settings dont' seem to be respected in exported files. the result is the export doesn't look much like the original.

- a few instances where this app gave me the beach ball and hung my machine. other apps wouldn't load, etc. not much else running besides safari and mail on a machine with 4gb of ram.

- quite a few random crashes as well.

this app isn't ready for primetime IMO.

TRENTI  Happy now. Latest version works fine, all functions working properly. Now I think this app is well done, far less buggy than the previous versions. Clearly a great step though it's a little version number.

Not sure about the layer function though.

My recommendation after a series of g“bugs: Go for it!!

Thanks to the developer for publishing of the versions so fast.

TOKEN  I think this is a very promising vector application - in comparison with its competitors it is more intuitive and has more funcionality that I can use.

It has a weakness on import/export formats. It only supports EPS import, no other formats.

But it is buggy..

TRENTI  Now, version 1.0.3 has been fixed a bit. Image fill is working now and some other stuff. But _layers_ aren't working at all. After a new layer is added, one can't edit things at all any more. Choose exit application: it crashes. So still very, very buggy. Hardly a beta I'd say. But things develop in an other way in italy. :-) And I still wonder why they charge 70 bucks for this erroneous app? Obviously they don't test at all over there in italy, otherwise they would see it's not ready to release.

ROBERTOAVANZI  Very nice application, and it will most definitely grow,m as the developers seem committed and release updates fairy often.

The interface is clean and very mac-like.

Note that you can purchase it for 49 USD from macheist, as pointed already by another member.

Now, I guess my fellow macheister has gotten enough nice referrals already (and he has his bonus apps), so you can use also my invitation ;-)

click on the following link before buying https://www.macheist.com/buy/invite/90690

thank you

TRENTI  Though it looks like a promising app it is unusable at this time (1.0.1). Period. No shapes. No image fills. No second drawing after first one is one the sheet. No text on path. It's all impossible here on a 1st gen MacBook Pro. Even on a fresh user install it is slow as hell and behaving like kernel panicking from time to time. Unbelievable the regularly price is at nearly 80 bucks for this piece. Yikes....

CURLYPAWS  I've been very impressed with VectorDesigner - especially the fact that it can do some level of conversion of raster images to vector ones. This is the one feature that I've missed from Illustrator and haven't seen elsewhere. And while it can't match the tracing capabilities of Illustrator, it makes a very good job of simpler images.

I did notice problems with image fill of shapes (quickly fixed in v1.0.1), but otherwise the program is stable and performs well. The interface is sleek and integration with Flickr and iSight cameras is well done. The program help is a little basic at the moment, but most of the interface is very intuitive anyway.

I was impressed enough to register a copy. This is one of the best reasonably priced vector programs for the Mac and I hope that TweakerSoft continue to evolve and improve it.

M-RICK  Unfortunately this software is very unstable and suffers of a lot of bugs : applying shadows, color or picture to objects doesn't work ...

This software could be very good, but, actually not really usable as this.
