DENTALMAC Security question. This app have not been updated in over six months. Is this a concern or does it use an underlying framework such as Safari that gets updated independently? Love this app. Love to use it for logmein.com and mint.com. (Version 0.9.6)

ICONZ113 Also is there any way to change the icon of an already created fluid app? and do fluid apps create support files the way regular apps do ? like will there be associated files in application support folders? are anything in the library folders? (Version 0.9.6)

BCWINTERS Can't believe how quickly Fluid has radically altered the way I use my Mac. No more juggling tabs and windows in Safari to keep an eye on Gmail or the bug tracker at work...now I have separate apps for each one. How about a mini-browser for Hulu that floats above my other windows...or a preview browser for website development that never gets its tabs mixed in with my personal browsing? You get the gist--Fluid makes it possible, not to mention dead simple. I don't think I could work without it anymore. (Version 0.9.6)

/USR/BIN/PAUL THANK YOU! Thank you for supporting us PPC users. I couldn't use Prism because it's Intel only and the newest Safari with Snow Leopard is also Intel only. I wanted Fluid for my Google Reader account, as it seems there are not many good Google Reader clients out there. This app is very snappy/quick and I love all the extra features. Really feels like an app on my desktop. Thanks again. (Version 0.9.6)

JDUB800 After this newest update Fluid and it's instances appear to crash on site loading. Yes, I do have Safari 4b installed, but this update was meant to fix this? (Version 0.9.6)

RAMPANCY The 0.9.5 messed up all of my existing SSB's; they all wouldn't open, giving me an error message saying something to the effect of "the application is not supported by the architecture on this computer". I'm still staying with my old 0.9.2.4 version. (Version 0.9.5)

BLUEBIRD I love this app. The ability to make the app a menuextra is fantastic. I'm using it in conjunction with Evernote.com to always have my Evernote notes available in the menubar. I also have one of my business sites in the menubar to quickly help customers when on the phone in Customer Service. Fantastic time saver. Developer is great at updating what needs fixed and improved. (Version 0.9.2.2)

MACGEEK19 For this app to survive through the release of Snow Leopard, you will need to add some new feature as Safari does this and does it pretty well. (Version 0.9.2.2)

MACLOVIN This puts Safari's webapps to shame. Custom icons, cover flow previews, the ability to change the user agent signature, amazing URL shrinking and revealing, making embedded or menu bar apps, everything. I made one Safari webapp, and trashed it almost immediately. It's like using a Fluid SSB with zero features. (Version 0.9.2.2)

MACLOVIN That's not as good at all. This has built-in support for Greasemonkey scripts, the easily customizable plugins, and tons more features. Fluid's SSBs put Safari's to shame. (Version 0.9.2.1)

MACLOVIN The plugins part of the preferences has disappeared in some of my apps, so I can no longer edit the options for the thumbnail plugin. (Version 0.9.1.4)

JEDIK I've tried to use Fluid for a while but run into a couple of problems: 1. Setting 'Accept cookies only from sites you navigate to' does not work, Gmail complains for instance, although it works with Safari; 2. The RSS button does not open the link in the default RSS reader, but in the default browser instead; 3. Showing the current in the Status Bar even when mousing over other links is annoying at least; 4. App crashed when trying to run a Java applet (it works fine in Safari/Camino); 5. Maybe the worst, 'middle-click' on links does NOT open them in another tab like all other browsers do, COMMAND+click works tho; 6. Links that open in a new window aren't redirected to a new tab, i.e. single window mode isn't possible. - Allow the user to run Fluid as a normal browser even if s/he doesn't want to create a SSB. It will probably increase your user base and also allow newbies to use it and test its incredible nifty add-ons like the Cover Flow/Clipping plugins; - Make the 'Mail this link' use the default mail application and not only Mail.app; - as it's a SSB it would be nice to open RSS feeds in an online service as option, like Camino/Firefox do; - allow some kind of user CSS like Safari or add some kind of 'ad-blocker' feature. I don't know if the dev look at MacUpdate so I am sending this to his email asap. Thanks and keep it up! =) (Version 0.9)

PEDE Great application. I'm using it to create a Gmail app. But I noticed two things. First, spell checking in text fields doesn't seem to work. Is this just not supported yet? Second, when clicking on a link in Gmail, it opens in my default browser (which is great), but also opens a blank window in the Gmail app. (Version 0.6)

ITOD47 Hi to all. This is todd, the Fluid developer. Thanks for trying out my app! As of version 0.2, the Sparkle update facility was added for ultra-convenient software updates of Fluid and Fluid-created SSBs. Each SSB will autoupdate itself and relaunch (if you approve that is). You don't have to search your hard drive for all of your SSBs, delete them and recreate new ones... instead they each update themselves which is much more convenient.

I'd like to report a bug. When adding a custom-made icon with multiple icon sizes to a new SSB, it looks like Fluid is only taking the largest size possible and using that for the icon app. In other words, it's stripping additional icon size data as far as I can tell. If you replace app.icns (in the Resources folder) with the icon, it shows all sizes properly. Other than that, excellent work :) Thanks! (Version 0.4)

KEVINSCHMITT Todd - love the app - great job! Any chance of getting Dock badges for Bloglines like you already have for Google Reader? (Version 0.6)
| Dec 29 2007 |
IMASWITCHERYEAH Just updated to the new 0.4 version, love the unread badge for Google Reader, but it's not very helpful when it doesn't go away after you read something. I first updated the Reader app made by Fluid, and then tried deleting that app and then creating a new app using the 0.4 version of Fluid. Still does not get rid of the unread badge after reading items. (Version 0.4)

METAPHYSICAL This is a great, much-needed alternative to Mozilla's Prism. For version 0.2 Fluid is miles ahead of where you'd expect it to be. Stability, speed, can't ask for more. Now all we have to wait for are feature additions and a bit more flexibility. Fluid does as advertised but does have a few expected drawbacks. One thing I'd really like to see is torrent download support. I'd like to use Fluid as a standalone for some (legal) torrent sites and whenever I try to download a torrent file it tells me "Load Failed". Some other things I'm not sure could be something for future releases are: - Easier way to change icons (CandyBar is fine but maybe a drag-and-drop option?) - Eliminate the need to build a new app whenever a new version of Fluid is released. This is annoying more than anything, but again, I don't know if this is possible. - I'd also love to see some ad blocking implemented. Thanks for your hard work :) (Version 0.2)

DOUG S. Nice, but what would be really useful is if it cached the data from the last time you opened it so if you're using a web app it doesn't need to be connected to the net. My example of this is Kuler by Adobe. if it had a way of caching all information used last time I opened my little desktop version this program would become extremely useful as Adobe doesn't supply a good desktop version of Kuler and, rather sadly, most other desktop apps that do the same thing aren't as good. EISCIR Just been using this for a few minutes, and it's a godsend. My university's wireless is quite restrictive, and neither adium nor mail.app work on it, so the ability to have a dedicated gmail.app for access to gmail and gtalk is great. of course, i could just keep safari open, but i end up quitting out of it by accident v frequently that way. great job.
