DENNY DOUBLEPLUS MARKETING  This truly is a nice little app., however...

I'm only giving it a 3 star rating because I have a fundamental problem with it adding a large empty space on my blog above my body copy. AND, the developer did NOT respond to my concern about this. A very big shame.

DEENGELSMAN  At last remote blogging software worthy of the Macintosh platform. Blogo has developed a user friendly, attractive and above all intuitive piece of software. It supports a wide range of services from the well known such as WordPress to the less well known. This software can be made as complex or simple as you want - from html to what you see is what you get.

PRLAB  This is one bit of kick-ass software. I don't buy many programs, but this is brilliant, as it serves blogging and twittering - essential in my work. It is simple and gets the job done. What more can you ask ... and for $25.

ELMER  I Just started blogging and this app was suppose to be the first one of a trio that seemed interesting enough to test. To keep things short; I have really no idea how this software stands up to the others because I wont even going to bother with them. Working with Blogo is a breeze and it feels smooth and it is solid and elegant. This is bloggin the Mac-way. The discovery that I could work on my blogs and drafts from different computers made me go for it without thinking twice. 5 stars from me and a praise on my blog!.

ZO219  This is set to take over all Mac blogging needs! Just starting with it, but capabilities and features so far ahead of ecto (which never worked consistently) and MarsEdit ... very impressed! (despite the awful logo) So far, seems like a damn good piece of work!

::MILE::  Well, I was really hoping you guys would take your time before releasing this as a final (and commercial) version and thus not only fix the numerous errors and glitches but also add some general basic features...!?

Even not considering that you are not doing yourselves a favour with the weird GUI (which, I know, you think is supposed to increase the user experience) in this current state it is just not worth the price...! Which is sad, because it would have been nice to have a fresh new app of this kind around...but unfortunately Blogo is not it...!

People still have problems logging into their accounts, account names are not showing up in the Ping section of prefs, international characters are messed up in the preview which itself is useless because it doesn't actually show what the post would look like in the browser, and unpredictable crashes are just a few of the problems we encountered here in the short period of testing...!

Then there's the lack of features like formatting text as a list, as blockquotes or that you cannot change the alignment of text at all, you cannot save your work locally, insert a 'more' tag or any kind of code...and all that is just the tip of the iceberg...

Too bad, as it seems that there's a capable, creative team behind this...but in its current state this app is close to being useless and definitely not worth the price, especially not in comparison to powerful competition like ecto for instance...

(BTW and just to avoid any further confusion: I used to post the previous comments as 'mail21' and have changed my screen name since then...! There's no mystery behind that and no big conspiracy going on here...)

STONEMAN  This entry needs a screenshot that shows the software and not the huge logo of the company (or whatever that is). On my 12" iBook I cannot see what it looks like. Are the developers able to consider users who don't have their set-up?

Full disclosure: I'm very happy with Marsedit, but I'm always curious what's out there.

DRINKBRAINJUICE  What exactly would you prefer? A larger screenshot, or one taken on a smaller screen? We're about to post a new set of screenshots with the revised interface, and we'd like to hear your suggestions.

MAIL21  > We are not charging for Blogo during the beta period, and we tried very hard to make it clear that the trial is for 15 days after the launch. I'm sorry if this information was not clear to you.

How clear can it be, when each time I launch the app I get a nagging reminder, telling me that my trial period will be over in 21 (not 15?) days and that I should buy the app now...?! ;)

As I said before, you did respond fast and I really appreciate your effort...!!

Still there quite a few issues to work out, not just the problems with setting up blog accounts but also the constant crashing when trying to post and some others...! Anyway, this here is not the place to discuss all that...and I am pretty sure that your team will work it all out eventually...

MACUPDATE ADMIN  'mail21' and '::MILE::':

The same IP address is associated with both accounts. Stop using two different accounts here. Use one or the other.

MAIL21  Okay, what's the idea of labelling an app beta and then still making it time-limited and wanting to charge for it...?! This is really spreading all around now...!?

Anyway, this app seems to be ignoring every GUI guideline Apple has ever come up with...!?! Not sure why the devs thought it was necerssary to do that...

It looks interesting though, although it only offers the most basic features, from my point of view...but then again, that will probably do for the majority of bloggers anyway...

I encountered a strange problem though: While I had no probems setting up the first blog account, it just won't accept the information for the second one...!? Both are set up the same way though, both running on Wordpress...yet I keep getting a message that my blog (the second one) "does not allow automatic discovery" which it actually does, and even after providing the link it asks for, it just won't connect...

So, not bad for a start...but not really convincing either...

We prefer to put the user experience before the letter of Apple's HIG. This is an attitude which Apple itself has demonstrated repeatedly in its own software in recent years.

I communicated with this user, and the problems he is having are system-related and not due to a lack in support for his platform.
