RAINER BROCKERHOFF Version 1.1.2 (297) is now posted. This new build fixes the timeout bug that was disabling the QuayMenu background process on Snow Leopard after a certain click pattern. Also, stacking screens vertically now works if menu bar and Dock are on different screens. All users should update. (Version 1.1.2)

LORIN RIVERS Quay keeps getting better and better. It's one of the best investments in software I have ever made! Take the time to read the release notes if you're an existing user, I just spotted the cmd-option-click on running app in the dock to get process details feature, which is pretty cool. Keep up the good work! (Version 1.1)

RAINER BROCKERHOFF I found an issue on some Intel Macs with 1.1b3 (249) where the "Average CPU %" value in the application popup was completely wrong. It's fixed now, and because it's such a small change I preferred not to bump the beta number, but just incremented the build number. The new version is 1.1b3 (250). So if you're affected by this, please download again and reinstall. My apologies for this slip-up. (Version 1.1b3)

DTRUETT1 I experienced some problems that made 1.1b1 unusable. With 1.1b2, everything works perfectly. Not only does Quay give you the old hierarchical menus, the choice of how to sort, and restores the Command-Click>shows the folder in Finder, but it also allows me to put my customized folders in the Dock. I created folders in Tiger using a metal folder and FolderBrander or CanCombine Icons for quick identification. Now the dock functions even better than it did in Tiger. I would buy this at 3 times the price! (Version 1.1b2)

JFIELDS I think he meant pointless instead of useless as 10.5.2 brings back the functionality. (Version 1.1b2)

RAINER BROCKERHOFF Right; I apologize for misinterpreting the comment. I've updated the product description and the screenshot to make it clearer, and put some comparative screenshots on the product page on my site. It's like text editors; if TextEdit were sufficient, people wouldn't pay for other text editors, right? (Version 1.1b2)

RAINER BROCKERHOFF Did you email me details? Can't see anything in my inbox, or in the support forums... (Version 1.1b2)

LORIN RIVERS ZOMG! Speed increase alone makes me weak in the knees. The only complaint I had with the earlier version. If you miss the old folder-in-the-dock behavior in Leopard, Quay is your BFF. It rocks. (Version 1.1b1)

FRANCOLA Sorry. Hopefully I figured out that it was a program that I installed at the same time (Dashboard Kickstart). After testing a few login and outs that appears to be the case. Whew, that was scarry! (Version 1.1b1)

RAINER BROCKERHOFF What does "launching with no GUI" mean exactly? (also please that I may not always see posts here; sending bug reports by email or on the support forum is the best way.) (Version 1.1b1)

LORIN RIVERS Quay returns most of the functionality that Leopard removed from the Dock, namely having a hierarchical menu popup from a folder placed in the Dock. It also adds quite a bit more (which I haven't looked into, or needed yet). I had a substantial workflow around my set of frequently (but not constantly) used apps with aliases in a set of folders in a folder (web, dev, system, etc.). I had resigned myself to launching everything with Spotlight until I found Quay. It's AWESOME. (Version 1.0)

TFINDLAY Nice but the Show In Finder menu item doesn't do anything. However, it isn't really necessary since double-clicking a folder opens it in the Finder. (Version 1.0)

RAINER BROCKERHOFF Quay's "Show in Finder" (in the option-click menu) does work. You probably mean the Dock's "Show in Finder" item in the Dock's contextual menu (right-click)... can't do anything about that. Maybe in the next version. (Version 1.0)

JOHN SAWYER CJS Nice. A couple things: The description of this utility needs to mention the Dock--it should start with something like "brings hierarchical menus back to the Dock", instead of just "brings back the hierarchical menus". The folder's popup list should appear above the folder you click on, like the previous docked folder behavior, so you don't have to move the pointer over to the left side of the screen to access the items in the popup list. RAINER BROCKERHOFF John, thanks. The description has been fixed. Regarding menu positioning, the menu _is_ over the Dock icon when you click on it with the mouse; I presume you're using Full Keyboard Access, where it unfortunately is more difficult to find out the icon's position on the screen. I'm working on a way to fix this, though. (Version 1.0b6)

RONL With you developing this, Rainer, I trust Quay. I've been using XRay for years (which of course you also developed) and I wouldn't want to be without it. Glad to see you recognized the real need for our regaining the ability to access hierarchical menus from the Dock. Apple really dropped-the-ball here.
