CHAS0001  I have been using Unision for downloading Usenet content and have been very happy with it. Recently I thought I would try SABNZBD and I am extremely impressed with the features. The web interface is very slick and it means that I can access the SABNZBD server from any computer on my network. Great product....Keep up the good work!

BALANCHINE  A fast and full-featured NZB-based Usenet client. It's a different concept from other Usenet apps (it works in the background and you configure it through a browser interface) but once you get the hang of it, it makes perfect sense.

Note to developer: Thanks for making the latest build 10.4 compatible. (I got a bit worried when I found that the previous release was 10.5 only).

RATTUS  Incredibly cool. Set it up to use your Usenet provider of choice (I love Internode) and grab .nzb files from www.binsearch.info - couldn't be easier.

You don't even need a separate program for verifying .par2 files and joining/unpacking .rar files. It does it all for you. Set and forget.

This is so great (and free), that its replaced Unsion and UnrarX on my computer for binary downloading.

E_COMMERCE  ARGH. The browser auto-launch "feature" is driving me nuts. Because of that little chestnut, I can't use this as a login item any longer, since it will throw up a browser window. I just want it quietly running in the background as a daemon, no app, as God (and Apple) intended. Include a link along with the package for people to open the web interface themselves.

TRONDAH  Try hellanzb, the best news client available. It will download, par verify, unrar/unzip and sort for you. GUI's and web servers are available for it as well.

B4TM4N  Change the browser setting in your SABnzbd.ini file from browser=1 to browser-0.

You should find the ini file here,

/Users/YOURUSERNAME/.sabnzbd/sabnzbd.ini

E_COMMERCE  Works extremely well, automating the use of NZB's to download files from Usenet. A few comments:

- As this program has no GUI, it would be much better distributed as a StartupItem or LaunchDaemon, rather than as an application with a Dock icon with no way to quit.

- If there is some odd reason it must remain as an application, please add the "LSUIElement" key to the Info.plist. This will keep it from adding a Dock icon, but may be confusing as there is no feedback the program is running.

Looking towards the future, a GUI would be good to add, especially a "first-run" wizard that could set the server and directory settings, rather than using the (admittedly excellent) web-based configuration interface.

SCHOSCHIE  It launches, but then nothing happens for a couple of minutes. I quit. :(

SWGS1  this looks like exactly what I wanted! The SABNZBd install instructions were a bit confusing and there were a few dependencies that I had trouble getting to install without error. So a prepared binary for sabnzbd is a very wonderful thing.

I look forward to using this at length.
