CYBERATOMIC Very glad to see that you've decided to reverse your decision to kill this app and are moving forward on version 3! I can't wait. I've flipped back and forth between this and CoverSutra which is also very nice, but I just really like the execution of your version. I was very sad to see the original announcement of it's death. WOLFEATSWORLD I don't agree. This is a young developer, and we all have to start some place. Do you guys agree with that? And besides, his program is an outstanding application for our platform.
| Jul 11 2008 |
JIMWICK Young programmers need to learn good programming habits. I was taught that I should never release any code of mine until I had it as perfect and bug-free as I could make it. That meant holding back the release until I had done a proper job on it. I suggest the same for young (and old) programmers. (Version 2.4.6)

EAGLELOUK @Jimwick : You're right. But I'm very stressed when a user tells me that there is a new problem. Sometimes it comes from a specific Mac. Now it's holydays and I think I'm going to take my time before releasing a new version 8-) (Version 2.4.6)

Don't mind them. If they have a stable release that they're currently using, then fine... they can "choose" to stay put at that version. I for one, like seeing a developer push things out as soon as possible. The amount of development that this app had undergone is phenomenal. I remember this app when it was barely half of what it is today. Keep up the great work, and feel free to push your updates whenever you like. If anything, maybe go to a beta version system - where the latest and greatest go out as a beta designation? Either way, I love seeing apps get updated like yours - it shows that you are motivated and eager to improve your application. This is WAY more than can be said of most applications nowadays. WALRUSCP This application looks like it would be terrific: lots of features, decent price, and a nice interface that has some customizability. Problem is, it keeps hanging on me. I think it's due to the fact my iTunes library and music files are hosted on an Air Disk I access via airport, because when I use it for a local music library it works fine. I have emailed the developer several times, and he has offered some minor suggestions to fix the problem with no success. If he can fix this issue in coming versions, this application gets another star. Until then, this is simply an unusable application for me and others who access their iTunes libraries wirelessly. EAGLELOUK You are asking something difficult because I've searched how to get Airport libraries and I can't find a way to get them. Also, TotalTunes Control is offering something that no other controllers got : Playlists, TV Shows, and Movies selection. And this is just a feature. You can use it like any other iTunes controller (like CoverSutra). If I can find a way out, be sure I'll implement it. (Version 2.3)
| Jun 6 2008 |
WALRUSCP Actually just downloaded 2.3, and it appears to work now with my library. When I get home I will reboot and double check, but for the five minutes I had to play with it before work it was working. (Version 2.3)
| Jun 6 2008 |
EAGLELOUK Hoo I understand... previous versions of TTC couln't work properly ? I thought you meant that the "iTunes" popup can't be used. I've removed the "current playlist" display in 2.3 because there were a lot of problem with it. That's maybe why it now works on your computer, even with Shared libraries. (Version 2.3)
| Jun 9 2008 |
SIXBILLSHIPS I haven't been able to use this either (recently purchased through MacUpdate promo) and my songs are stored on an external hard drive connected via firewire. TTC hangs as well as iTunes unless iTunes is already running prior to launching TTC. (Version 2.3.3)
| Jun 23 2008 |
WALRUSCP This continues to be a problem. It disappeared for a while, but recent versions have reintroduced the hanging problem for those of us accessing music and videos on external drives (over the network for me). CoverSutra, which I got in the MacHeistII Bundle, has no problem accessing my files on my network drive, so I am left thinking that TTC simply tries to do too much in one package. I'll have to stick with CoverSutra for now until the author can finally correct these serious bugs. He has tried to be responsive though, I will grant him that much, so I hold out hope for future versions. (Version 2.3.5.4)
| Jun 23 2008 |

EAGLELOUK Ok I'll put all my music on external disk and test everything. (Version 2.3.7)
| Jul 3 2008 |
SIXBILLSHIPS I now think the problem may have to do with iTunes communicating with my Apple TV when it launches. I downloaded a competing product with the initials CS and the same problem occurs. In this case, the Console log indicated a "DNSServiceResolveError" followed by the DNS name of my Apple TV. Has to be more than just coincidence, don't you think? (Version 2.3.8.4)
| Jul 7 2008 |
WALRUSCP Stability has improved as have the features. Problem remains that I cannot play videos (movies, video podcasts, TV Shows) from the controller itself from my external hard disk on the network. Otherwise, things have improved nicely. (Version 2.4.2)

ITUNER TotalTunes Control is a clone of CoverSutra. It was free for a long time, just recently and without any notification to the user, TotalTunes Control was changed from freeware to payware through an automatic upgrade of the software. Users of TotalTunes Control have therefore to fear the worst from this application and I cannot recommend its further use. Go for CoverSutra, the original, which is being developed by a trustworthy and female (!) German developer. CoverSutra is slightly more expensive than its clone, i.e. TotalTunes Control, however, you will get a fancier user interface, extended functionality and can enjoy confidence in the developer. EAGLELOUK You're justifying your review by the fact TTC became a shareware.. are you kidding ? It was written and it's still written in the update changelog, the user has the possibility to do not install the update and keep the free version. Maybe CoverSutra looks graphicaly better, but it has not so much features as TotalTunes Control. And as I said before, TotalTunes Control is not a clone, when I released the first v2.0 release, someone told me that it looks like CoverSutra, which I didn't know before ! Look, you're saying that users should switch to CoverSutra because it's graphically better and it is developped by a women ? Do you think it's a good reason ? oO You're just angry because you haven't paid attention about the changelog when you updated TotalTunes Control. I'm also developping TotalTunes Control alone, I've got no graphist to make my interface (CoverSutra developer has one). If CoverSutra is better, then buy it right now. If you already bought it, why do you come here and make a bad review of a program that you are not using ? TotalTunes Control asked and continue asking me a lot of work, that's why I changed it to shareware, and sincerely, what is 8$ ? Nothing... (Version 2.2.3)

AVETENEBRAE iTuner: I don't think you know the real story of CoverSutra. I'm the one who had the original concept and did all the design work of the app. Now, she keeps using and sell all my design even if we had allot of troubles and I asked her to remove my (free) work. At least TotalTunes Control's developer haven't steal anything. (Version 2.2.3)

ERIC B. @avetenebrae: Sophia Teutschler tells a different story I'm afraid: 'Since there were no good iTunes extenders I liked I decided to make my own. After about three months of development time I was ready to release CoverSutra 1.0 on January 23th. Thanks to PayPal it was quite easy to sell the licenses online, and people immediately got excited about the app, which in turn helped to spread the word about CoverSutra.' Would you mind elaborating on your claim a little bit further? (Version 2.2.3)

ERIC B. @Eaglelouk: What happened to the comment I wrote this afternoon? I will not re-write my comment. Just the two most importants parts: You betrayed the trust of your users by upgrading their free versions to payware without any prior notice, I therefore do not trust you anymore either. And you removed the last free version of TotalTunes Control from your server. Are you afraid that you users could opt for an older but free version? (Version 2.2.3)

AVETENEBRAE @Eric B. : Yeah, I read this interview, and I'm afraid this isn't strictly the truth. She was a bit carefree with the credits in this early interview : http://wordpress.macoholic.de/?p=1176 I have evidences (mockups, emails and iChat transcripts) about the fact I'm the initiator of this app. Please check with her and ask her why she lied. SOPHIESTICATION I really, really hate to do this but the way Laurent acts here forces me to make things perfectly clear and to show that I'm definitely not a thief. So long story short: I never stolen any interface designs or artworks. It is not a secret, and never was, that I worked with Laurent on CoverSutra. He was one of the beta testers of the very first incarnation of CoverSutra, which was a standalone player back in October 2006. Laurent contacted me right after I quit the first CoverSutra project and said the he totally liked my iTunes Artwork widget I'd made before, and said that it was a great iTunes controller and that I might make a bigger even more powerful app. So one thing lead to another and I ended up making CoverSutra as an iTunes controller. Things changed over time though. Last summer Laurent admitted that he fell in love with me which lead to ... well ... a lot of weirdness. So he quit working on CoverSutra last October. After that he got more and more freaky and today I have no doubt that he is a stalker trying to destroy my business or even me. I could write hours and hours about that, however, I will just quote this email that I received from him this January when he, apparently, was in a sane phase (unlike where he's at now): I've been through allot of introspection this last couple of days. My anger is gone, and it's time for me to apologize for what I've done. It's true, I liked you at first sight, and I contacted you after the CoverSutra 2006 drop, to bring you ideas and concepts that would make you want to work with me. I think I offered you my help to make you owe me something, and unconscientiously, and even partially conscientiously, I wanted you to like me back for that. Days after days, I surrounded me with things belonging to you, and since you were sweet and fun, predictably I felt in love. I guess this is when I declared myself that you understood what I've done. You should have talked to me instead or running away, this is probably what made me the saddest, but I understand how sad it can be to discover such a thing. Now I understand that you hate me, as I hate myself. The only thing I'm proud of, is that I finally helped you to be recognized as the awesome developer you are, and gave you the help you needed for that. But please, remove my credits, cause it will be relieving for you, and for me. Feel free to keep using everything I've done, if you want to, cause you really deserve to keep and use this work, while I don't deserve to keep credits for it. Thank you for helped me reaching this level of quality in graphic design too. I couldn't have done it without you. I've also lost who I considered a friend, Janice, and I hope perhaps one day she'll forgive me. The only thing I'm proud of now, is writing you this letter, cause I still believe this is where the real Laurent is. I'm apologizing again, even if I know I'm unforgivable. Long live CoverSutra and long live Sophiestication. So about two weeks ago, Laurent got mad again and tried to blackmail me, threatening me with an, apparently, fake lawsuit. I've told him that I'm in the process of removing all of his artwork anyways, and that it's just a matter of a few weeks. I'm really sad that I need to publish this, but again, I have no choice. (Version 2.2.3)
| May 4 2008 |
AVETENEBRAE @Sophie: I can guarantee you the lawsuit was not fake. I just didn't had the heart to sue you, because in you emails you seems like you are not rich and I didn't want the hassle of legal procedure to claim my rights. I think I did wrong to be kind now. See, you now agree that I contacted you first, and that I initiated our collaboration. So you obviously lied in the interview. This email was the last desperate answer to all the hate (lies, discredit, etc) you made me suffer. I though you would just stop hating me if I was saying what you wanted to hear. But instead of that, you continued to lie. Please guys, download CoverSutra 1.2.1 and read the About Box. In the light of these new informations, read again the interview. She removed everything that was related to me on her Flickr (credited icons sketches and UI elements), on her Twitter (I assume on some tweets my credit was too obvious), on her blog (the vinyl case post, the only one where I ever been credited), she just "erased me", but kept all my work and my ideas in the app
Isn't it that "trustworthy" ? I worked freely, you promised me allot of things (should I post here all your transcripts too?) and then you "changed your mind" (note the quote). So yes, I had changed my mind since this email too, and no contract forbid me to do so. You wanted to take everything and run? I disagree, and yes, you will hear about me as long as you will try to discredit my work and lie about me. Call that stalking if you want, but I call that "Intellectual propriety's protection against liars and thief's". So again, please remove everything I did in your application "CoverSutra" today, along with everything I did on your website. And do it now. Oh, you want to keep the benefit of all my work, but lie in the interviews to keep all the credit for yourself? Or you keep both, or you get rid of both, you choose, now. Is that clear enough or should I follow the legal way again? Do you really think this email have any contractual value? You will have to share sales revenues, buy me the promised iPod and code me the promised Icon Store if you want to keep the right to use my files. Until then, remove your application download link. Period. PS : I'm really sorry for Louka, this is way off-topic, and I think a moderator should clean up this thread, or move it to the CoverSutra's page, where this public discussion have his place. (Version 2.2.3)

EAGLELOUK "I really, really hate to do this but the way Laurent acts here forces me to make things perfectly clear and to show that I'm definitely not a thief." If you "really, really hate" to do this, why did you do that ? oO Sophie, you're currently acting like a child by replying and PUBLISHING a confidential mail. I really don't understand. AVETENEBRAE @Hendo : I don't get your argument
This have nothing to do with feelings. Even if I would allow you to use freely my graphic elements, I would never allow you to lie publicly about who did them, disrespect me or claim in the about box it's your design. You say nothing, you write nothing, but you don't take credit for something you only have the RIGHT to use, not the ownership. There is a big big difference between "rights to use" and "intellectual propriety". The intellectual propriety is inalienable, and can't be sold. That's the point. (Version 2.2.3)

ITUNER It came as an unpleasant surprise to me when TotalTunes Control changed from freeware to payware without any further notice, TotalTunes Control was simply made payware by the automatic upgrade function. I have therefore no more confidence in the developer of TotalTunes Control. What is coming next? A rise to 15 USD? The deactivation of the software? A spyware functionality in the software? It should have be more skeptical from the beginning. It was always apparent that TotalTunes Control was a clone of CoverSutra, however, I did not care as long as TotalTunes Control was free. HAL0THANE Wow, talk about "Ask and you shall receive!" On 1 May, I mentioned that I'd like to see more cover art included, and it's already done now with version 2.2.3, along with a slew of other enhancements. I'm very happy to pay my $8 for what TotalTunes Control offers. As a long-time user, I couldn't be happier with its development progress and timely updates, the functionality it provides, and the overall invested in it long before it went shareware. It's an essential tool on my Mac. (Version 2.2.3)

HAL0THANE I think that $8 USD is a reasonable price to ask for what TTC accomplishes. Obviously its users like it or they (we) wouldn't use it, right? Allowing the developer to profit from his work should not be seen as such a heinous thing but as a way to satisfy both users and the developer, provided the price is reasonable and development doesn't dry up. Having said that, I've been neglectful myself in donating to the developer of TTC (which I think is an outstanding app); the choice to move to a shareware model, however, has reminded me that I actually should have paid for using this software long ago, so pay for it I will. My only hopes are that we see more cover styles and new features as a result of the move to shareware, not fewer and less frequent releases. (Version 2.2)

I closed my eyes on some mails... but now it's finished. Right now, I'm only giving free licence for users who previously donate for TotalTunes Control. If you have not donate and you're an old user, you'll have to pay. I know it's a little bit annoying, but I realized that TotalTunes Control has grown and has a lot of work behind it. And... 8$ is not so expensive... (Version 2.2)

SULEIMAN KHAN Agreed. I use CoverSutra myself (got it as part of an MUPromo a while back) but before that I was a faithful user of this app, and to be honest the speed of updates leaves CoverSutra in the dust. This is truly a fantastic application, and $8 is two meals at McDonalds folks. Give the guy 2 cents for the hard work he's put into making a fantastic app. (Version 2.2)

TESLANAUT First of all, I would like to say Thank You so much to the Developer :) As for the, "Moving to Shareware", I could see why. I mean, look at it, ain't it a beauty? It sort of competes with CoverSutra which is, I think, 10 Dollars? Give the man some credit. He's put a lot of work into a great App. -I would like to see more Cover Skins -Integration into more Social websites like Facebook/Twitter. Other then that, I LOVE it. (Version 2.2)

EAGLELOUK I don't know why everyone say that. I've done all the thing with my own hands, excepting Cover boxes which some users gave to me. Preferences icons have been made by a graphist, for free, and for me. Interface looks like HUD style and CoverSutra is not the only one to use that kind of interface. Shortcuts come from an opensource framework... Then please stop saying "It looks like CoverSutra, you cheated !". When TotalTunes Control 2.0beta has been release, and didn't know that CoverSutra exist, until someone like you said "ho my god you tried to copy CoverSutra !". My answer was "What ??" And then I've downloaded CoverSutra. Yes it looks like CoverSutra, but I never stole any graphic. Thank you. (Version 2.0.9)

HENDO Yeah, I agree, I knew you'd turn this app HUD soon, it wasn't a matter of copying CoverSutra, the gui is nice but please change the playpause icon, it's so ugly! lol (Version 2.0.9)

GARLICBREATH Tried this newest version on my Intel iMac Core 2 Duo running 10.4.11. Thought it was working fine. After an hour or so, I noticed a high percentage of CPU usage (I have iStat menus running). TotalTunes was using 100% while in the background. Am I the only one with this problem? (Version 2.0.8)

HAL0THANE I used SizzlingKeys4iTunes for the longest time. When TotalTunes Control became available, I thought it was "just another iTunes controller" like all the others, but eventually something about it -- the look of the control window -- made me realize, "Hey, I actually _can_ accomplish everything from here and still have it run transparently in the background." So I installed TotalTunes Control, set the trigger keys to be the same that I had gotten accustomed to with SizzlingKeys (keys that I had customized, incidentally -- both apps allow the user to choose the trigger keys) and haven't looked back. Now I don't have to go into System Preferences to change the settings like I did with SizzlingKeys (which was a Prefpane), and I even get Last.fm support for free -- bye bye, iScrobbler. I couldn't ask for a better iTunes controller than TTC. The developer seems to be very active in updating the app with new features and bug fixes, as well as listening to user feedback. That goes a long way toward loyalty -- and even if it's a free app, loyalty still means something. (Version 2.0.2)

DOUG S. there is a bug that's related to secondary displays in Leopard (might be Tiger as well, I can't test that) where if you have TotalTunes Controller on the secondary display when you disconnect the controller window might be partially off the screen. When this happens, and the top-bar is obscure, it becomes impossible to drag the player fully into view. The only solution I've found for this, when it happens, is to either plug the monitor back in, which isn't always possible, or to close the program, delete it's preferences, and start it up again. DOUG S. You could fix it either by: 1. Not logging default positions (or at least making this an option that can be disabled). 2. Detecting display configurations and having a preference for each configuration. 3. Always having the controller appear on the main screen at a certain position. At least that's how I'd do it. Then again I'm a Flash developer, not an app developer. (Version 2.0b21)

JON.KANTRO To the developer: If you are going to have last.fm support in your application, please use the proper protocol and methods. Right now your application is sending submissions after a track has just been played for 10 seconds. To quote Audioscrobbler protocol, "The track must have been played for a duration of at least 240 seconds or half the track's total length, whichever comes first. Skipping or pausing the track is irrelevant as long as the appropriate amount has been played." I would love to use your application, but I can't due to this. DOUG S. This is the best out of all the mini itunes controllers I've used, if only because it's free and provides 90% of the features the paid versions offer. Features (4): It offers a lot of great features, the only ones I've seen others offer that this doesn't seems to be cover flow and Last.FM support both of which don't matter to me. Ease of Use (4): It's easy to set up and has a lot of options that make easy to use to the point of where you don't have to do anything. Some things aren't always clear right away, but with a little bit of playing they become so. Stability (5): I've not used it a whole lot yet, but so far it seems to be 100% stable for me on my MacBook Pro with Leopard. Pros: Easy to use and customise with great compatibility with OS X combined with the fact that it's free. You really can't ask for much more. Cons: Though there seems to be an option for it, there aren't actually other styles for the album art. Also, though it does have a clean style, things can feel a bit cluttered as there's not much space between the icons and controls so you get no real sense of grouping. (Version 2.0b15)

MACMANIA This application does a terrific job of providing the missing iTunes "mini cover" view. It is similar to Coversutra, but at infinitely greater value! I'm still trying to figure out how MAC OS X with its millions of lines of complex code, and weighs in at several gigabytes can sell for $120, and little utilities like Coversutra cost more than $20! The developer of TotalTunes is working hard at features, and polish. If he turns it into either donationware, or reasonably priced shareware, I will support him. 1. In the mini view, have a method to hide extraneous info, and frame, leaving only the CD. 2. Lower contrast between gray and black of the CD light effect

DNELSON This latest version of TotalTunes Control includes a few new problems: 1. The icon is now in the dock, and cannot be removed, although the preferences make it seem that it could be. 2. It's menu bar is now visible. It's not quite so much a good iTunes controller that stays out of your way when you want it to. As I recall, it didn't previously paste its menu bar up there when you click on the window. I liked it how it was in the background in previous versions. I love its extremely frequent updates (like 3 today), but this one seems different in a not-so-good way. 2.0b8 would be appreciated... (Version 2.0b7)

DNELSON I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 running on a 800 MHz iBook G3. Actually, version 2.0b8 fixed all of the problems. Thanks! I do have some things I'd like considered, though: 1. More "iTunes-like" stars 2. More "iTunes-like" playlist menu icons 3. A preferences option to make the total time tick down like it does in iTunes 4. An actual stop button aside from the play/pause 5. A little more "Mac-like" interface. At least try to copy Leopard's HUD mask window style a little better. No offense, but on Tiger it looks kind of funny. (Version 2.0b8)

EAGLELOUK Ok I'll see what I can do about interface. However, it is strange that the bug is fixed. Coz I have it on my iBook running Tiger. I found how to correct the Dock icon bug on Tiger, it will be for beta9 ;-) (Version 2.0b8)

DNELSON Actually, the dock icon is gone like I wanted it, but I noticed a few problems: Action: I changed the settings (removing dock icon and menu bar icon) Action: Quit program after I was done listening Effect: Once again, works as wanted Action: Tried to open the program to listen to more music Effect: Didn't open. Finder didn't even do the animation that comes when you normally open a program. (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
EAGLELOUK Are you sure you haven't removed the icon from the Dock ? You should open Activity Monitor (Application/Utilities) to see if TotalTunes Control is opened or not. If it is, that means that you chose to run it like a background application (that means that you chose to hide the icon from the Dock) (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
DNELSON No. I mean that the window doesn't even appear. (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
EAGLELOUK Even if you open it from the Dock Menu ?? (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
DNELSON Oh, I'm sorry... I was being stupid. I forgot to close it properly. One thing that will help me among other users: - Once you close iTunes, TotalTunes Control goes out to its "iTunes idle window". I hit the "X", but I guess that didn't close the program. If you could include with 2.0b9 a "Quit" button in that window that quits the program, that will help people avoid failure. (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
EAGLELOUK Hmmm I dunno.. I'll see what I can do about this. If you think that it should quit the program and not only close the window.. why not. I can maybe display an alert panel that says "You are going to quit TotalTunes Control .. blablabla" for the first time the user close the window ? (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 30 2007 |
DNELSON I guess that would work, although I don't see why there can't be a separate close (in this case "quit") button in that window. Maybe there could be two buttons: one that says "Close Window" and one that says "Quit TotalTunes Control". Though even with that option, people who use the settings that I did would not have a use for the "Close Window" because without the dock or menu bar they wouldn't be able to reopen it, thus they would think that they had CLOSED the program, and would wonder why it wouldn't open at a later time when they wanted to use it again. (Version 2.0b8)
| Dec 31 2007 |
DNELSON Version 2.0b10 contains one issue: It opens as usual, but when you click "Open iTunes", the window disappears and I have to, in Activity Monitor, close the program and reopen it. The stars aren't my favorite (I like the iTunes style), but that isn't enough of a problem to really worry about... It seems slightly unstable on Tiger. (Version 2.0b10)
| Dec 29 2007 |
LARRYS02 Alright, I have downloaded and tried Version 2.0b7, and there now appears to be this problem: when iTunes opens, the TotalTunes panel disappears and I cannot make it reappear. I can quit the app fine now, and it does appear in the Dock as described, but something else is wrong (and yes, I quit the program without closing the window first this time, and I am using the default shortcut for toggling the window). It may help for you to know that I am using an iMac with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Would that make a difference? (Version 2.0b7)

LARRYS02 Very good, you have solved my problem. Thank you. I think I know how this works now, and hopefully it will work out. (Version 2.0b7)
| Dec 29 2007 |
LARRYS02 Thanks for your reply. For someone who is trying out your software, you assume too much knowledge on the part of the user. It is an odd thing to quit an application from a "Preferences panel." Why you choose this path, which is a path of greater resistance for the user, is unclear. Nevertheless, I will try your remedy when I do this again. (Version 2.0b7)

The new beta automatically keep the icon on the dock and let you quit TotalTunes Control like an other app. I must think as a user and not a developer who knows everything about his application :) (Version 2.0b7)

MACSTERDAM Sorry to read about the previous commenters' problems. I have had no such issues and can only say I really love the software. It runs great, have had my questions answered by the developer very quickly and am very pleased with the software. There's room for improvement, but even with the current features I think it's really good. (Version 2.0b7)

LARRYS02 One final note: restarting your machine will solve the problem of trashing the app, if that is what you wish to do. But it seems to me that the bug is that you should be able to close the panel/window without any problems when you are through, instead of having to leave it up all the time. This is a bug I suggest the software maker should fix. Thanks, though, for this development. I've wanted an app like this for some time now. (Version 2.0b6)

the problem is that you chose to close the window and not to quit the application. So, it still running. When you first use it, you can see the shortcut preferences. And see that the default shortcut to toggle shown the window is "CTRL + CMD + S". It is not a problem if you haven't seen it (but the alert panel is here to say that you should take a look at the default shortcut to toggle shown the window before closing it for the first time !). However, if you paid attention, you'd be able to re-open the window and then quit the application from the preferences button. (Version 2.0b6)

EAGLELOUK However, because you're the second one that have difficulty for trashing the app, I will keep the icon in the Dock for default. Users will be able to hide it from the Dock if they want. (Version 2.0b6)

LARRYS02 An additional note: I tried restarting my computer to see if that would help solve the problem of not being able to reopen the app. I could reopen it after restarting, but when iTunes opens, the panel disappears and I can't get it to show back up (the being unable to trash the app problem still occurs). LARRYS02 An excellent app. Seems to work better for me than Front Row, because I can roam my playlists and do work at the same time, which is not something I can do with Front Row. (Version 2.0b6)

JOSH LINDQUIST Beautiful and wellllll done. This is easily the best iTunes controller app I've used yet. The floating app and keyboard shortcuts are perfect, this baby drives like a Porsche Cayman S on a newly paved road. (Version 2.0b1)

DNELSON This program is amazing! I downloaded it thinking that it "might be another loser iTunes controller", but after two songs I was totally hooked. The developer has done an awesome job. No freeware or shareware program that I've used comes close (and I've used quite a few). There may be stability issues (like the previous user said), but I haven't discovered them yet on 10.4.11. I can't believe how well it works! If I need say more, it is also loaded with features... (Version 2.0b1)

CYBERATOMIC Seems pretty cool - however, it needs a few things before it will replace CoverSutra which I use instead. 1) It is buggy (I know it's a beta) it seems unresponsive and slow. I clicked for the control window with ctr-apple-s, and the window came up.. I then tried to control the song, rate it, etc.. and the controller window stopped working. There was no way to quit the application either. I ended up having to kill the process through the terminal. So much for TotalTunes Controln - heh. 2) It needs to be able to interface with LastFM to scrobble my recent played items. It's a good start, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. EAGLELOUK You should open iTunes before launching TotalTunes Control. Launch TotalTunes Control. The window should not be hidden if any other app will bring to front. Then, click on the prefs button (its a gear) and choose the shortcut for show/hide (Version 1.1.1)

EAGLELOUK I'm going to improve the first use of TotalTunes Control. The window should not be hidden 'till you have not configured the shortcut (Version 1.1.1)

EAGLELOUK Totaltunes Control 1.1.2 is out. You should remove it preferences before launching (~/Library/preferences/com.macxeagle.TotalTunes Control.plist) TotalTunes Control will automatically brings the preferences in front. (Version 1.1.1)

DOUG S. Wow great response time! And that fixed my problem perfectly! Thanks for the help. Another question: Would it be possible to make it so it didn't automatically hide if you clicked off it? It's kinda annoying to have to unhide it every time I want to do something with it. (Version 1.1.2)

EAGLELOUK Hmm OK. It will be as a preference for the next version. (Version 1.1.2)

MARK EVERITT I really like this. It doesn't get in my way! The only thing is that I'm a little old fashioned, and I play entire albums at at time so in iTunes I navigate through the library. Would it be possible to add in a library tree in the drop down menu? Thanks for this excellent software! (Version 1.0.7)

YIL2201 TTC does what it does really well in a beautiful user interface and is updated frenquently. It does the same job than shareware at 20$ ! The developer is really ready to listen for new features and to implent them quickly in it. Maybe a suggestion : as iTunes now works with videos, maybe TTC could be able to read them by replacing the cover with a preview ! (Version 1.0.5)

GLOBETROTTERDK TotalTunes Control looks good, works well, does what it is advertised to do and it is free of charge. What are you waiting for? It will be interesting to see how the app matures. Request: It would be nice with some Last.fm integration for the future. (Version 1.0)
