MRCITADEL2008 I'm using Siriusmac 2.3. Recently I started receiving the following Apple Script Error Message: "Cant make characters 1 thru 6 of "" into type string. (-1700)". This occurs when I try and select a station from the drop down list. I have already solved the previous Applescript error that seems to be the topic of much discussion on this page. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. (Version 2.3)

MELINA635 Hey did you resolve this? I've been using Sirius for Mac for about a year now, and it's always been perfect. Now I get this! The same exact thing your getting. I haven't been able to call Sirius to see if they can help b/c of my 9-5 schedule. It started like 2 weeks ago. I haven't been able to find any mention of this, except for your post. Could you drop me a line if you resolve this? I will do the same for you :) I'm a week or two away from canceling my subscription if I can't fix this.

BOBOAS This used to be a pretty good program. Recently however, there seems to be no support, nor any functioning version of the software around. Does anyone have an older version of Siriusmac? Something like 2.1 or 2.2? I can't believe I never backed up those pesky disc images. (Version 2.3)

SDPOACHER This application worked for me the first time I installed it. In fact it works fine on my other macbook. Using version 2.3 it no longer works on my macbook pro. There is always some applescript error. It went from a 4 to a 1 for me. The forum doesn't allow registrations as I'm sure the developer couldn't keep up with the complaint level. Its time someone else take the reigns and create a new one.

MIDIANVA I would have posted this on their forum.... but forum registrations are disabled (wtf????). anyways, anyone with the baseImage is not defined error, go to the preferences menu, click on the "Player" tab, then change the option for "Dock Icon" to "No change", then restart siriusmac. seems that their applescript file has an error, i tried to look into it myself to fix, but it is a run only binary file. and to the people at siriusmac, if i could have registered at the forum, i could have posted this there, instead of on macupdate, and possibly helped fix the issue myself (im a developer). BIGDAVE56 Five stars???? For what exactly? Spent 15 minutes and can't get app to do a damn thing. Only asked for 'captcha' code on first launch. Subsequently get 'login successful' and 'requesting' screen messages.... Then nothing......zzzzzzzzzz...... No 'Help' whatsoever within the app.... No hover bubbles.... No documentation of any kind... 'BaseImage Not Defined' error on almost every click... Phooey. (Version 2.3)

LVSHOOTER Doesn't work... I just get a "AppleScript Error" (-2753) and there is no way to contact the developer... Too bad it seems pretty cool... it logs me in but gives me the script error...

OUNAVYFLYER Love this thing. Been waiting on an update since my old one quit tracking song info. Always makes working on the computer more enjoyable. P.S. - click on the Favorites location button and hold for about five seconds to set as favorites. (Version 2.2)

KINGADROCK They tried to get way too clever with the interface. It's not intuitive at all, I've messed with this thing 10 minutes and I still can't figure out how to add favorites. I want this application to listen to Sirius Radio, not be dazzled by how it looks like a 3rd rate MP3 Player. (Version 2.2)

BEDOUIN Cool idea, but my main motivation for downloading this was to get around the login process where I had to enter a verification code. I doubt there's ever gonna be a workaround for that -- but if there ever could be that would be great. (Version 2.1)

MRFIREFOXZ Love the new design model, and all the new features, this program is much easier to install. Keep up the good work I look forward to the updates with all the features becoming functional. A must have for a Sirius subscriber with a mac (Version 2.0.3)

NICOLASD i despise growl. it should not be needed. the player interface needs to be MUCH LESS involved. please just use standard mac os x interface. look at a program like transmission for an example of simplicity. on top of that, in version 2.0 the player won't stop even after quitting SiriusMac. i had to use Activity Monitor app to quit the 'mplayer' activity. HURRIKENUX You don't have to install or use growl, so I don't understand the point of your comment. If you don't like Growl, don't install it and programs that use it do nothing with it. I, on the other hand, love Growl. (Version 2.1)

AMCAN12 Finally login worked - but I had to use my Canadian subscription data with US as selected country to get it work. A lot of tries to get the "solution"... I can see channels, I can see songs played... but I have no audio at all. (Version 2.0)

AMCAN12 This is a different application from original SiriusMac. With the original (version 1.x) I am able to use it without Growl - this one won't even let me to Preferences without having Growl installed.... Grrrrrr (Version 2.0)

GOODTIME Yes. There was only going to be one update this weekend. But as usual after we get about 500 machines test it, I felt it was necessary to correct the bugs to make the new user experience more pleasant. We do try to do them one a week or once a month and we do test them thoroughly, but after we get about a dozen people reporting problems. It was our only choice was to fix them and get it back out there before another 1000-2000 people download it and have the same issues. v1.2.2 is it for this week. Most of us only have time to work on this during the weekends. (Version 1.2.2)

MRFIREFOXZ This is a great app, I have not had a single problem with it I use it almost everyday and is just another example of why having a mac is awesome (Version 1.1.2)

HYPERT SiriusMac 1.1 doesn't think that Mac Python 2.5.1 isn't installed, but it is. The message says: File Tiger:usr:local:bin:phython wasn't found. Well, /usr/local/bin/phython certainly does exist, although /usr/local is a symlink to somewhere else in my filesystem. It does work is python itself is a symlink (i.e., python -> python2.5), but not if there's a symlink in the path to python. Is there a way to support symlinks in the path?

GOODTIME At this time, Symlinks within the path to python except for the python symlink is supported. This is a non-standard install. I tested 6 machines and none of them have /usr/local as a Symlink. Why is /usr/local on your system a Symlink? Can you please explain?
| Jul 21 2007 |
GOODTIME fixed in 1.1.2 (Version 1.1.2)
| Jul 18 2007 |
GOODTIME 46MB is the full install. If you already have vlc, macpython 2.5.1, and beautiful soup installed, You can download just the app which is 6.5MB. The app also had the command line version of mplayer embeded inside which increases the file size. We created this new all in one package install to make the install easier and more bullet proof. I was not a big fan of Sirius Radio until I experienced it for myself while co-developing this application. Sirius Radio is awesome. We strive to make your experience, what it should be on the Mac. The GUI is nice. Yes, we are working on improving the install process. It is better than it was when it first started. We used to have to enter about a dozen UNIX commands in by hand. It was painful.

WALTFRENCH Yes, keep working on that install process. On my MacBookPro/10.4.10, the just-released? 1.2 hangs at the "Congrats! EasyInstall complete! Next Step: Login." I had to force quit the program; Quit didn't take with the Prefs open (and unclosable). Seems curious that after installation is complete, it goes looking for GrowlHelperApp in response to "Login." (Version 1.2)
| Jul 29 2007 |
GOODTIME I am working on fixing that today..
| Jul 29 2007 |
GOODTIME I updated the installer if Python 2.5.1 or Growl are not present on the Machine.. if are already there.. it skips over them.
| Jul 29 2007 |
WALTFRENCH 2nd try was (almost) a charm, and DID work to bring up the app, which is now merrily delivering a great Cannonball Adderley track. I trust that the dev will put prettifying the capcha process onto the list of desiredments -- flipping the windows around caused me a few moments of confusion -- so this isn't quite ready for me to install on my wife's iMac versus the Flip/Safari solution that is tolerable if lower-featured. And it's curious that the app's face is cut off at the top -- the Vol buttons are chopped off. Just a cosmetic thing; they're functional, once I guessed what they were meant to do. (Version 1.2)
| Jul 29 2007 |
GOODTIME Trust us.. we are working the best we can on it. There is nothing I can do about the Captcha code at this point until we eliminate some more dependencies. We are working on it. This is a very part time project and its FREE. Once it get it running, you don't have to go thru the Captcha thing very much.. it's cached. (Version 1.2.2)
| Jul 30 2007 |
GOODTIME Captcha code terminal thingy is going bye bye. The Captcha thing will be transparent soon. We are working on a method that will be make this much easier on the user. This should be ready by Mid Aug. Sept at the latest. SiriusMac Dev. Team (Version 1.2.2)

VIZUALMENACE thanks for the compliments. the process of installing is one of our main focus areas. Right now what we have to do to install is not half as bad as what it was. It has been. Thats why we made the scripts. Well i hope that you continue to enjoy SiriusMac. keep visiting the site for updates. Thanks once again! (Version 1.0)

BUD DICKMAN I just got this installed and it's wonderful. The process is a bit daunting (you have to install Python and run some scripts) but once it's running it's great. The interface is very attractive, and it has tremendous functionality. If you have Sirius, you need this. It's awesome. (Version 1.0)
