DRHJARNTVATT  Jahwarrior you are right.

Exept there are some widgets that are a bit rpoblematic. This app or the terminal command is just ignoring the trouble and making the startups for the dashboard easier

ISPIKE  Nice tip Jahwarrior, that's useful, I like running a couple widgets on the desktop from time to time.

MUSUBANA  Widget-to-Desktop doesn’t cooperate very well with Virtual Dashboard (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22751/virtual-dashboard).

When I switch from one dashboard to another, the W-t-D function vanishes, and I have to launch W-t-D again.

Could you fix this somehow?

JAHWARRIOR  You Dont need to actually use the terminal to allow this. You just open dashboard with F12. Click the + button to add a new instance of the widget. While holding the mouse button down hit F12 again and well, what-do-ya-know. Done!

TIM27  Will this make widgets actually sit on the desktop, or do they still "hover" above all apps?

NYMPHE  I think its a good solution for those, who really don't want to use terminal. Actually I think that, such an option should be included within the os X.

thanks to the dev.

ROBK  This is not new. Running Widgets on the Desktop is officially sanctioned by Apple when developing widgets. You just need to turn on the DEVMODE for Widgets.

DRHJARNTVATT  The F12 button is not always the hotkey for dashboard. On laptops it's F11 for example, because the F12 key ejects cds.

The shortcut may be turned off to.

To check that go to Sytem Preferences, Keyboard and Shortcuts. Check what shortcut the Dashboard has or if it's unactive.

There is no reason for this not to work.

I also know that this is very old but there are ppl who don't want to mess With the Terminal. Thats why i made this app, that also saves time, because you dont have to type anything.

HOOP2125  THIS ROCKS! read the simple instructions but, This ROCKS! The only thing that could be improved is whether it floats on top of applications like it does now or hides behind applications. Besides that did I say this rocks? Well it does.

PHILSH  Totally agree with the need for it to be able to hide behind other running apps on the desktop. Otherwise, works great!
