MEATMCGUFFIN  Wow, the fluid interface looks great. Let's hope core animation brings this standard to the entire OS

NAOH  It seems Safari mistakenly downloads the file as a .dmg.bz2 file, rather than just a .dmg file.

This means that when you try to open it, the contents get hashed up by the unpacking process.

If you simply rename a Safari download to .dmg before opening, it opens fine.

The possibility is that the server the file has been hosted on, is configured to identify .dmg files as .bz2 in the MIME information. This would cause Safari to dutifully mark the file with the .bz2 file extension.

GANNET  This looks like a useful app but the archive seems to be corrupted or something. I can't extract it properly and if I manage to get the dmg file out of it it won't mount.

GANNET  Hm, tried it in Firefox and it's working fine. Guess Safari doesn't like it for some reason.

MACUPDATE ADMIN  I used Safari in OS X 10.4.9 to download the file. No issues.

GANNET  Okay, I tried on another computer and it does indeed work fine. So it's just my Safari then. Stink.
