PROGRAMHAPPY Developer, I have a HUGE feature request that I think will be quite helpful to many users. There is (was) an add-on called "Twicetab" (see "Twicetab 1.3.1.1" here at macupdate), but it doesn't work on Safari 4. One of the optional features of TwiceTab that I desperately miss is the ability to make a URL (or domain name) in my clipboard open in a new tab. For instance, if I copy the text "http://www.google.com" or "google.com" and then double-click on an empty space in the Bookmarks Bar, it will open the Google home page in that new tab. However, if there is no URL or domain name at the top of my clipboard, the double-click action in the Bookmarks Bar will perform the user's default preference (home page, blank window, etc.) for a new tab. Whadaya say, guys? Hook us up! Thanks in advance! (Version 0.6.5)

MACSOLU Just installed this update, along with CosmoPod and TabExposé -- now I cannot use my mouseball/wheel to scroll up or down web pages while viewing them in Safari. I have yet to troubleshoot, but at least one of these three plug-ins is the culprit. (Version 0.6.5)

Read the requirements above; Mac OS X 10.4 or later, SIMBL, Safari 4 Have you installed SIMBL? In the time it took you to write your comment, you could have searched for it and installed it. SIMBL - http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/18351/simbl (Version 0.6.3)

CALL ME YO DADDY Sorry to crash the party but I was using Saft for better tab functionality before this came out. However a simple terminal command is all you need to make Safari's default tab functionality mirror Firefox and Opera's. This commands simply opens links in a new tab instead of an annoying window. Expert from MacUser: You are required to launch Terminal (which can be found safely nestled within /Applications/Utilities) and enter this command:
defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true Once you hit return and relaunch Safari, youll find that it will never steer from the noble path of the single window web browser now, no matter how trying the circumstances. The gates to ultimate web surfing joy will part and you and Safari will live happily ever after. (Version 0.6.1)

STU02 The bundle must be placed in one of the following directories where SIMBL can find it: ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins

STU02 The current version is not compatible with Safari 3 and should not be used. A new version of SafariTabs that is compatible is currently in development and will be released soon.

STU02 You're going to have to provide me with more information regarding the issue as I'm unable to re-create the problem you're having. The only thing I can think of is possible compatibility problems with other plugins that you may have installed.

A J BENAMU I was using the version prior to 0.4 and it was working fine. But as soon as I copied 0.4 and 0.41 Safari crashed all the time until I took it out of the SIMBL/Plugins folder. I have 1Password plugins there for Camino and Safari, that´s all. (Version 0.4.1)

CUNEYT In the latest version (0.3) there is a problem with the cooperation of SafariTabs with one of the functions of the Saft plugin. With Saft installed when you quit a tab in Safari you can restore/reopen it back with command+Z (its called Restore Closing Tab).. In the previous version of SafariTabs there was no problem. But in version 0.3 when you choose Restore Closing Tab or use shortcut command+Z it opens the same Tab/same webpage 2 times in stead of just 1 time. I hope you can fix this issue, in the previous version there wasnt a problem like this one.. (Version 0.3)

STU02 OK, I've provided a fix for this issue. Version 0.3 introduced undo support for closed tabs and going on your description of Saft's undo support its basically providing the same functionality. That means when both plugins (SafariTabs and Saft) are installed then pressing cmd-Z (undo) to restore a tab will execute both SafariTabs and Saft's code resulting in 2 new tabs as you described. Its not really a fix but I've added a new option in the plugin's preference pane to enable/disable tab undo support depending on whether you have Saft insatlled. I currently don't have Saft installed on my system but I'm pretty sure the fix will work. I've made the new version available on my site and not MacUpdate as of now until I'm sure the fix works. I'd appreciate it if you would try it out and let me know how it works.

NORAA Seems a new bug has popped up in this latest release - the Google search in the menu bar no longer seems to work. When I type something in it, and then hit enter, nothing happens. Minute I uninstall SafariTabs all is well again. Otherwise, great little plugin. (Version 0.2.3)

MYSTICALOS one thing that's always annoyed me is the contextual menu when you click links and you want to choose "open in new tab" and assidently get "download link" instead. I do this a lot. sure I could just command click but I'm just too used to doing it this way since ie 7 works same way. perhaps some tweaking could be done there by chance? (Version 0.2.3)

CUNEYT When downloading something, and you have just one tab open.. It quits immediately when doing command+Q or choosing Quit Safari from the menu.. It doesnt even give a warning that you have downloads running, it quits immediately.. That made me uninstall this bundle, because I had to start download everything all over again.. I think it should give you a warning when quitting while there are downloads running.. That is also a default thing in Safari.. (Version 0.2.2)

CALLE This functionality should be built in. I suppose SafariTabs does the job well in the meantime, though I don't like to have too many plugs installed and have instead put a never-used button right below to close button, to minimize the number of times that I accidently closes the window when all I wanted was to go back.
