BRENT MURRAY  This application does my soul a world of good. So simple, works perfectly, and lets you focus on one task at a time. Thank you for this!

JORDI VIDAL  It works beautifully on a computer with one screen! and sure for 99% of people's needs.

But there is place for improvement, and I am not alone:

I am writing a piece of research and I use two screens (my laptop and a side monitor).

I would like to have not ONE but TWO applications running, each on it's own screen.

Wouldn't it be cool to have one application on each screen? I'd like to have an application to view other source documents in order to proceed with my research writing.

Sure this scenario applies to other people who have to read and write, not just creative writing.

And surprisingly, there are a lot of people who use TWO monitors, at least in the environments where the company provides a desktop and the user has her/his own laptop.

Looking forward to see this application evolving with the need of the users!

Thanks guys for such a great little app!

Hint: the way to chose the applications is great! Why not have one of this controls on each screen?

BOGEN  It's free, it certainly seems well implemented, it works as advertised. What more can you want?

BABYFETT  Not sure what the last poster was talking about because in v1.2 you can certainly use the command + tab feature to switch between applications. I just tried both this app and Isolator and Think wins hands down. With Isolator if I was working in Word and wanted to switch between two documents, I couldn't. I'd have to turn off Isolator and then click on the second document window and then turn Isolator back on. Annoying. But with Think it's flawless and the interface is great and easy to use. Does exactly what it promises and does it great. And I love how you can bring up a guest application (to check mail while writing a Word document) and then just click back on the main application or the background the guest application is hidden away again. Love this. Improving my productivity to no end.

RAE  Pity this works as an app instead of a "plugin" in the system preference... This means that I have to swift between softwares within this application, in this way, I can't use the ordinary command + tab to change in between applications. So might not be all that good if u r frequently using keyboard to give command.

And iSolator does a much better job.

ZANGIEF  Now with Leopard, just use Spaces. If you don't have a tidy desktop, use the basic version of Desktopple (most people will be fine without the pro version anyway). It's what I do for my school work, and it works just fine. Pages and Desktopple in one space, music and anything else in the other three.

MILLCA  The developer link no longer works. Freeverse appears to no longer support Think. Does anyone know where Think went?

MACUPDATE ADMIN  I have no idea why Freeverse has apparently killed this app, but I found Think 1.1 and have posted it to MacUpdate servers, so at least it is still available to download.

WOODEN BRAIN CONCEPTS  This works great for what it claims it does. I find it hysterical that it's made by Freeverse, the same culprits that make major game distractions that are to blame for untold months (in total) of mucking about. Now then, this would be ideal if it took over CMD-Tab from the system to switch apps, and/or if there were a global hotkey to activate it, and/or you could use the keyboard to switch apps. There seems to be a minor glitch with two monitors: sometimes it dims only one until you switch to it and mess with its controls.

SARTIN77  Does exactly what it says it does and it's very useful. I use it when practicing my flashcards on Studycard Studio Lite. It's especially useful when I set my sons down to have them use the flashcards. It decreases the chance that they'll go poking around on my desktop.

PETER DA SILVA  I don't see anything that this is doing that wouldn't work on 10.3.9, why does it require 10.4?

153957PHOTOGRAPHY  Works splendid,

well two questions:

Would it be possible to make the panel show up by using hot corners? (or would i need something like butler for that?

and when Illuminating the Finder, would it not be wiser to Hide all other applications, so we can also see the desktop, which might contain useful items, i know we can also access it through the folder structure, but when a lot a files are present on the desktop it might be easier to use, and when one illuminates the finder while no finder windows are open one will not see anything.. well i have one of my mouse buttons set to open a finder window so Im oke, but some people might not know what menu/shortcut to use to open a New Finder Window.

153957PHOTOGRAPHY  I think it would also be nice to be able to 'collapse' (via double click for instance) the Control Panel, to only show the activation button, and then when its active also show the quit/color/transparency control.

153957PHOTOGRAPHY  And, when i activate the Think Panel, and launch a new app from the dock and then move back to think it will not show the new app until I illuminate another app and then move back to Think.

MUSUBANA  Hi, I really like this app.

However, it should be possible to exclude items of your choice from the menu.

Right now I'm using several "decoration" programs like MenuShade (search it here on MacUpdate), and it is really irritating that it appears as an icon whenever I start Think. :-/

MUSUBANA  Using Dockless (which works fine on Intel macs, despite being a ppc app), I've been able to solve the problem.

YNOT  This is awesome. I would pay for this, and eagerly await to see the direction of this app's future.

I agree that it does need to have key combinations that are assignable. It would be nice to set certain apps as always viewable, or dimmed at a different level, but still active for clicking. This way, apps like iTunes or a web browser winder could be seen for a developer, but not quite as bright as the frontmost window. I see great things from this software. It almost has the feel of a true 3D interface, where one can shove windows into the background to minimize their impact, and bring the most important to the front.

ORION MK. V  Very nice, especially in low-light situations where my iMac's uber bright screen can be too much. This way I'm able to cut down glare and focus just on the app I want.

Only request: either a keystroke or menu-based method of turning it on/off, as I don't want it on all the time.

MMORALES  This is a nice little application, and can be quite handy. I think until you use it, it's not apparent how much windows in the background can distract you from what you're trying to work on. So in that respect, this serves a good purpose.

There are only 2 comments/suggestions I can see for it. Like others, a keyboard shortcut to bring up the illumination panel would be very handy. Also, I'd like a way to keep the app running, but be able to switch it off easily. Having to quit it to get back to the regular window mode seems silly to me. It's a minor quibble i know, but I still think a toggle on/off would be good.

HENRIKTEKNIK  I've been using this for a week now, and I intend to keep using it!

Light-weight, nice looking (both icon and interface), low memory footprint, and most importantly; very justifying to its purpose! It really helps focusing in on the program you're currently working in.

Although the Think app itself is already very unobtrusive, I'd wish there was an option to invoke the "focus selection screen" by means of a keyboard shortcut.
