ROG It was a good idea and when it worked it did just what I needed. Sometime it would not start up. I also noticed that something weird was going on on my Mac that I couldn't pin down to any other process. When opening any window or returning from screensaver there would be a long delay. This applied to any window of any app, even simple ones like address book and calculator. It would sometimes take 20+ seconds instead of the usual 1 if that. I would also see the memory and processor activity spike for that period of time. I took all the other Preference Panes and startup apps out and this was one of the only things left running. Ever since I've removed it, the problem has gone away. I don't know what it was doing for those 20+ seconds... (Version 3.0)

AKROBAT Fairly good application. I'm not into all the hierarchical menus as I find them a pain to navigate. I find it easier to go to the Facebook site instead of having to wade through the menus. Personally I prefer MacFace / Amigo as it also shows the photos of your friends and gives just as much info as this app, however it's a matter of personal choice. (Version 3.0)

ROG I started up for me the first time, then after restarting it wouldn't start up. I trashed the prefs, and tried again and it worked, but I had to reenter the username/password. I'm new to FB, so I don't have any freinds yet :( ... so I don't know if any of the functions are working. (Version 2.5)

ARAMKOLT Crashes in Leopard for me on my 1.67GHz PowerPC Powerbook. It worked at first for a few restarts, then fails to launch in the menubar... A fix would be greatly appreciated. (Version 2.5)

MACLOVIN I also have the problem of it randomly quitting. It seems to do that when my Wifi goes out temporarily. Also, I wish I could have it start at login without putting it into my dock. Or am I just missing something? (Version 2.5)

XANDAMAN The app seems to randomly quit. And I mean randomly, i'll look around and suddenly the apps gone. Thought itd be a bit unfair to give a low rating now. (Version 2.5)

BOB_TM The app doesn't handle being logged out very well. If you are logged out for some reason, FMenu just sits there and gives no indication that you have been logged out - it just doesn't update anything. Another thing: How does one go about telling FMenu to fetch the password from the keychain? (Version 2.1)

BOB_TM A nice app - I like it! This version seems pretty stable. Seems that if I hide pokes they remain as unseen pokes in FMenu, but that's a minor detail. Great alternative to refreshing the FB page all the time. (Version 2.1)

LENSOVET Yeah, I'm aware of this, it's due to memory handling (mostly) and was introduced as part of my attempt to remove the previous memory leak. I will be resolving this in the next release. (Version 2.1)

PODDUS I've been getting some weird photo updates recently... maybe it's the API again, idk. I have 2 photo comments and after a recent update it shows up as 102...

LENSOVET Yeah, those are API issues, and I already check for them on all methods except for the photo comments one. This will be fixed in the next version, I'm just waiting on how to resolve some memory issues with Apple's Cocoa methods. (Version 2.0)

PODDUS login doesn't work correctly anymore. when logging in, it asks for the password twice, and after the second time it loads the facebook page. logout doesn't work either. When I try to logout, it tells me I have successfully logged in. The menubar icon still turns grey, and as long as the "login" window is open, the menu looks as though I have logged out. however, when I close the window, the icon turns blue again and I'm still logged in. The Console doesn't return anything either, but after I close the window, FMenu performs a full update. hope that helps a little. Anyway, I like how you added the sex in Growl notifications (his profile, her profile). Nice touch.

SHANE SMITH Great little program, just needs a couple more functions. The ability to add as a login item would be great and like the last comment ability to auto login to FaceBook. Other than that it's perfect! Keep up the good work.

PODDUS Well, I've been using this little app for a while now, and there are only a few things that I would like to have added: Photo comments counter in menu bar auto-login feature (Or at least auto-fill. having to type a pseudo-random password every time is kind of annoying) universal login (By this I mean possibly adding a cookie to the default browser, showing that you are already logged in.) Other than that, great job! I love the growl support, the layout is straightforward, everything works (as far as I know).

LENSOVET Unfortunately, photo comment count will actually be dropped from the next release because Facebook dropped the feature from the API. If you don't like that, let them know (there's a link on the program webpage)! Keychain support is something I want to do in the next release, if it's possible. Unfortunately, the only "cookie" that I'd have access to will be from Safari I don't see being able to use cookies from other browsers as being anything close to manageable. (Version 1.7)

MISCHIVO Perhaps you can add a feature that disables those annoying growl notification for such useless things as "someone change a something in their profile", "someone added a photo", etc. When you have as many people on facebook aa some, these annoying notifications can really bombard you by the minute. Also, why can't I just have it update everything at once, but once every few minutes, instead of seconds? (Version 1.7)

PODDUS You can change the growl prefs in the growl preference pane, and you can change the update frequency in the FMenu preferences (Version 1.7)
| Feb 14 2007 |
LENSOVET As Lpod correctly pointed out, all the pop-up notifications can be changed and turned off in the Growl prefpane just click on the Applications tab, then choose FMenu from the top list, and uncheck the notifications you don't want to receive. Since the app is designed to give updates near-instantly, they are broken up to prevent facebook from blocking your account. If you want more rare updates, just set the interval in the prefs to some really high number (i.e. 6000 seconds) and use the "Force update now" menu item to refresh the data. (Version 1.7)

LENSOVET Thanks! Unfortunately, as mentioned on the program's homepage, if your friend isn't showing up, that means that they have not released their info to the Facebook API. Tell your friend to go to http://www.facebook.com/privacy.php?view=everyone and make sure that the box labeled "My information may be used according to the restricted Terms of Service" is checked. (Version 1.6)

MEATMCGUFFIN Thanks for the help! I've got stuck in the habit of downloading directly through macupdate without visiting developer websites and so i didn't see the notice. I like it even more now :) (Version 1.6)
