KNOWHOWE I love this little app too and it's been a fixture on my desktop for many years. Thanks to the developer! Anyone noticed anything new and different in this version? Seems identical to me... (Version 7.0.7)

MICG Very, very high quality Application for Mac. (It's also available for Mac OS 9 and Panther on pandacorner.com) I have searched the web back and forth trying to find Applications for Macintosh with a Christian theme and PandoCalendar fits perfectly for what I've been looking for! =) I love this calendar with it's Classic styled balloon notes like Mac OS 9's help balloons! It's so cool and such a blessing in my daily life especially with the C.H. Spurgeon's: Faith's Checkbook built into the App! Wow! That totally blew me away with blessings! Thank you Panda Systems, for such a blessing and an Application I finally really, really like! Did I mention it's FREE? I cannot recommend this calendar enough. Compared to iCal, which is a secretary's calendar on steroids, this is a cool glass of water! Awesome!!!! (Version 7.0.6)

NEANISKOS As mentioned in other comments, every midnight from Saturday to Sunday the app pops up a biblical quote. As it turns out, in the pop-up window to the left of the quote there's the app's icon: a panda bear clutching a calendar. I find it hard to suppress a giggle when, every week at midnight, the panda bear miraculously makes its appearance and starts prophesying: "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him" (Matthew 28:9), and stuff like that. Oh, holy Panda Bear, lead me into the light of the Lord's grace! (Version 7.0.6)

NEANISKOS Well, you're welcome, but the one you should actually thank (and probably worship) is the sacred Panda, of course... (Version 7.0.6)

COLLIN BLACKMAN A great app - i started with Pando in OS 9 and think the current slew of features are excellent. Would not have moved to Leopard if Pando had not been compatible. (Version 7.0.6)

FOULGER For those who don't use iCal (and I am One) and who don't want all the sync options, Pando Calendar offers a simple calender & to do application that is practical and elegant with a religious text to give inspiration to those who are so inclined. (Version 7.0.6)

KEDOS For me, it's just not that functional. It would be nice if it would sync to/from ical calendars, because iCal simply offers a lot that you can't get from pando (eg. iPod syncing). It would be nice if Pando could act as sort of a middle man for me, so I don't have to open up clunky iCal if I don't want to. I also think it would be nice if you could select the window to always be on top of the desktop, but not on top of other windows. I'd like it to kind of look like a part of my wallpaper. When it's on top of all windows, it's annoying. I downloaded it, saw it's potential, and deleted it mainly because of the lack of ical integration. (Version 7.0.5)

EASER Granted, there's no screenshot, but it's a good program and worth a look. The only thing you should be ready for, however, is that every Sunday at midnight, it will pop up a Biblical quote. I think that should be advertised more clearly in these postings. I don't have a problem with it. I'm not a Christian, and I simply close the pop-up window when it appears. For me, it's only an issue if one wants it to be. I find it a small tradeoff for an overall effective program. (Version 7.0.3)

MACNERD1984 I found this too - Very annoying having someone else's religious beliefs rammed down my throat. It's a calendar program - If I'd have wanted someone to preach to me then I'd have called a priest so the inclusion of it is inappropriate. What next? Photoshop with a call to prayer at 5am every day? Excel reminding me not to work on the Sabbath? There's no place for it and there needs to be an option which turns this off. Apart from that it is a goo app - iCal integration would seem a natural inclusion so I have no idea why it's not in there but as a handy little app to have around (despite the dodgy icon) it's very good. MARTINK What a bummer that only after so many years working on a Mac I finally run into this software... truly amazing calendar software! I first laughed my xxxx off when seeing the iMac frames... and then I even decided to try one of them. Come on, guys, if you don't like the frames that come with the application download, there are many more on the author's web site plus an app to create your owns... Maybe a future option could be to allow users to change the contents of those 'daily readings'? (Version 6.0.4)

ANONYMOUS Changing the contents would be a good idea. Perhaps choices? If I want to view sayings of Greek philosophers I could choose that over Christian ones. That would be great! (Version 6.0.4)

FOULGER It would show real intestinal fortitude if those critics who hid behind the anonymous label would at least say who they are. As a matter of record, there is no need to turn on the Daily religious text, as Mr Anonymous claims. This small app has been around for many years with no complaints that I have read. Oh - if he doesn't like ugly frames, could I recommend plastic surgery?:-) (Version 6.0.4)

ANONYMOUS This is a free software. If we like it, we can appreciate that it is there for our use. If we don't like it, we can just simply ignore it. Negative criticism is uncool. Negative criticism is like an anwanted virus that creeps into our good computer. (Version 6.0.4)

ANONYMOUS This looked promising. My only dissatisfaction was with the large selection of ugly frames. No good ones in that whole bunch! Anyhoo, you can turn off the frame so it's no big deal. Then Sunday came along. Ugh. I realized that if I wanted to use this otherwise good calendar, I would have to allow myself to be subjected to Christian propaganda. No thanks. I'll take my software religion (and politics for that matter) free. (Version 6.0.4)

ANONYMOUS politics? right. Anyway, what is so hard about clicking the little red circle to close the window?? For me, I've found them to be encouraging-don't dismiss them so fast for something useless. (Version 6.0.4)
| May 5 2005 |
ANONYMOUS I didn't mean this app pushed a political agenda. It doesn't. I just meant that I prefer my software to be free of any positions or opinions. As for finding inspiration or motivation from the displayed religious messages I don't doubt that many people do. Perhaps there could be a special section for such software. However, for people like me who are not Christian and/or who have a negative opinion of most Christians, it would be preferable to not be subject to their messages. Basically, you leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. I think that is pretty reasonable and fair. (Version 6.0.4)

ANONYMOUS I'm agnostic and I still think this is a great piece of software. It's stable, doesn't use a lot of memory, and is fully customizable. My only wish would be that it hooked into iCal somehow. It doesn't look like they will be updating this anymore though. People need to chill out a bit! (Version 6.0.3)

ANONYMOUS Some years ago I was given a used car from my uncle Ralph. It worked well but something smelled a bit off. Then one Sunday I was going on a trip and opened up the trunk for the first time only to find a big 'ol sack of manure. If someone is giving you something with a big load of sh*t hidden inside you'd be a bit annoyed, too, right? (Version 6.0.3)

RAPHAEL DUMA Such a feature full and useful app but with one big flaw... It shills for the beliefs of christians. I realize that it is my choice to use it, I just wish there were something this useful that non-christians like myself would feel comfortable with. *sigh* why are christians often so disrespectful of the religions of others... it can make it so hard to tolerate them. JOEL NELSON I've been using Pando Calendar for over a year now and like it very well. It uses little memory and is fast and convenient as a desktop calendar. As an added bonus, there is a Scripture of the week every Sunday and the Faith's Checkbook feature that can be turned on as an option brings up a daily devotional from C.H. Spurgeon. ANONYMOUS great application, but there is one very serious catch: it displays bible quotes and there is no way to turn that off. The makers call it 'jesusaware', I would call it shameless religious propaganda. Very offensive. (Version 6.0.2)
