E_COMMERCE Nearly worthless program. Only after numerous tries would it connect to the Tivo (I know the Tivo connectivity works, as downloading via the built-in web server is fine, as is the NowPlaying widget). Interface is extremely glitchy, frequently not responding to user input, or bizarrely selecting list items that weren't clicked. Attempting to download does nothing - no data is transferred at all. Adding to queue and downloading the queue similarly does not work. Controls sometimes disable themselves, sometimes not, with no rhyme or reason. It's nice that someone is trying, but this software is far too buggy to be of any use. (Version 3.0)

E_COMMERCE iTivo (which appears to be based on the same code) works flawlessly. Not available on MacUpdate, but easy to find via Google. (Version 3.0)

PEZYWEZY I downloaded the program and I put in the correct MAK and IP address and it will not connect to my Tivo. Can I be connected to any network or does it have to be connected to the network that the Tivo is connected to? I don't know what else is wrong. The Tivo preferences allow transfers and I don't know what else could be wrong. Any suggestions? (Version 3.0)

BCWINTERS The README that accompanies v3.0 says that source code is available on the app's SourceForge page, but the notes file on the web page says the code hasn't been released because it's too messy. I'm grateful that the developer of this handy little app has started working on it again and I hope he finds time to do some "housecleaning" on the code--I would love to see if input from some other programmers could get 3.0 running on Tiger, for instance, and it would be great if the bug with accented characters in show names/descriptions could be fixed so those shows could be transferred. NBULLRICH I downloaded the decode manager and works fine without crashing. However when I play the downloaded tv shows in Itunes or in my Ipod Touch, the sound is not at sync with the image. Actually the sound is delayed. Anyone knows if I have a wrong setting or how can I fix this problem? Thanks for the help. (Version 2.1)

ANDYSAND TDM 2.1 misbehaves on MacBook Pro 2.4 Leopard. Every attempt to download and decode a selected Tivo show ends up having to be cancelled because the process never ends. The progress bar indicates successful processing until the end of the process is reached, at which point the process starts all over. The desktop mpeg4 file doesn't finish. So to test the possibility I've somehow corrupted TDM, I want to uninstall all of it. Simply trashing the TDM folder doesn't do it -- the Media Access Key is stashed somewhere, for example. How do I completely remove TDM so I can start all over? (Version 2.1)

CABNDFW I have used Tivodecode Manager for over a year now and until today I have not had any problems. However, with Leopard 10.5.1 running the app crashes a few seconds into a download and decode of a show. Then it loops and starts again writing over the previous fragment of a file. This happens repeatedly. I have deleted the PLIST file and it did not help. Any ideas? Sounds like a Leopard problem to me. I love this program and hope that it gets fixed soon. (Version 2.1)

BCWINTERS I launched TivoDecode Manager, entered my TiVo's IP address and media access key, and within 10 seconds I was backing up a recording of a news program I'd been saving since 2003! Excellent. This app is still rough around the edges, though--I'd rather see the IPs and media access keys stored in the keychain; the progress bar sometimes stalls and times out (I just occasionally Get Info on the ripped file to see when it has stopped getting larger); there's no frames-per-second or other useful metric to tell you how good your CPU's performance is--but overall, it's a sweet little utility that Just Works. Looking forward to future versions! (Note that I'm giving the app 3 stars for stability--it hasn't crashed on me, but that seemed to be the right place to downgrade it for the stalling progress bar and other rough interface issues.) DRAECHEN Fantastic software! I just wanted to add how good I thought this software was. I download my tivo files, watch them via front row as it saves it right to my movies folder. Makes it truly a joy to use frontrow with my tivo content. Keep up the great work! (Version 1.5.5)

RONHUTCHINS I downloaded the tivodecoder today and attempted to download one of my recorded shows. Loved that it was able to download the show, but when I went to play it, it gave me an error message and wouldn't play the show. Any idea? The error message was pretty non-descript. I would love to get this thing working this week if anyone knows if this is something that happens often or maybe this was an aberration. (Version 1.5.5)

AQUAX So far, I've been very impressed. It's a nice clean GUI, and the features keep improving with each version, and the bugs are fewer. It's unfortunate TiVo has completely dropped the ball on Mac support, and we're forced to work around their restrictions, but my hat's off to this developer for creating a very Mac-like solution. GERBER This latest version (finally) works with PPC Macs reliably. Has a few rough edges, interface-wise, but boy, it's tons easier than the TiVo web interface or Galleon. It's a great one-stop solution to take TiVo files onto your Mac! (Version 1.2)

PROFESSORJ This looks like a terrific program, just what I need, but so far it is only producing files with a size of zero K and with the name of the TiVo show follwed by "169423.mpg" I am running a Powermac G4 with Tiger. Thanks for making this program available! I hope I can get it to work as it looks like the perfect app for my TiVo and Mac! (Version 1.1.6)

CHIEFTED Ok love this thing! Was using the tivodecode command line function and not that I minded that but this makes things so much easier! A great program that...well two weeks ago wasn't possible! One request though; I don't remember if the 1.0 version of the program had this or not but would love to see some type of progress bar/indicator. Just to let us know that it is working vice checking to see if the file size is increasing through Finder. (Version 1.1.5)

BRANDON EDLING Also found what looks like a bug... I THINK it's something like this: if you download the app and launch it from the first time in it's own folder, on your Desktop, then move the application (or the folder with the application in it) somewhere else, decoding doesn't work, neither from the "Decode Show" button or the "Decode Queue" button. Little zero k files are created, but nothing happens. So that's a little odd. Some things that would be nice: -A cancel button by the queue -A pause button for decoding -Being able to sort by column -Make the line between the queue and the show listing adjustable -Transcoding to iPod (and enable ability to play in QuickTime) All in all, though, this is a great piece of software. Makes me happy to have my Tivo again! If you add transcoding to the iPod part (and adding it to the iTunes library for syncing)... wowza, this would be the coolest app of the year. DAN NEAL Just wondering if the tivodecode app included in the package is the PPC or a true Universal version? It seems a little slow on my 2.33GHz iMac and wondered if placing the Intel version of 0.14 would speed things up. (Version 1.1)

DJTA630 I'm right there with "aquax". Great product so far. The regular updates have been fantastic - the bugs are getting less and less with each update. So far any problems I have had with this software since V. 1 have been addressed. (Version 1.5.5)

JSH Now if this can be done in such a short time, why in the world has it taken Tivo, who invented the .tivo format, so long to get a Mac version out...which hasn't even seen the light of day. More of a marketing excuse? (Version 1.0)
