WORLD28  Excellent software, very powerful and perfectly efficient. I can synchromize the iTunes library of my wife through the home network, without annoying her, and keeping all her podcasts, playlists. A bit subtile for the installation, but, once done, works fine. Congratulation for the developper. The price is reasonable for the service.

TRILLIUM  First off - always try the trial version of the software.

Secondly I have searched far and wide for a solution that would synch multiple mac's iTunes libraries. TuneRanger is that solution. I've tried rsynch and a myriad of other build in unix utils to no avail.

The one quirk that I found is that it is indeed super picky about tagging. You can't go changing tags once everything is synch'd because it will find it as new material.

I was able to get it to work after some tinkering around, intuitiveness is a little off, but over all it ended up being the right solution for what I was trying to do in keeping to macs synch'd with the same stuff in their respective iTunes libraries.

VERYCARLA  I'm curious to know - will this app work to merge two iTunes libraries on the same machine, or is it only for keeping libraries on two separate machines synced?

LUPEMORENO  Bought it without trying it based on a presence at MacWorld SF 2008. The folks at the booth seemed confident, and so I came home and bought it.

First off, the SmithMicro website which sells the software doesn't support Safari Autofill, so I had to enter all of my information by hand to purchase it initially. Boo hoo. What a drag.

At setup, the registration window doesn't support cut and paste for the registration serial number, nor does it support drag and drop. Very annoying.

The worst part is that the program itself doesn't work at all. I called the phone number on the developers website and got a professional sounding "big office" voicemail routine, but nobody ever answered the phone. I left a message for tech support and they didn't call back.

I wasted my money. Don't make the same mistake I made. If you do choose to use it, make sure you try before you buy. I do hope they eventually are able to make it work, because it's a cool idea, but for now, they are not able to deliver in any way at all.

CHRONICFATHEAD  Tried v1.0 273 on PC and Mac, and it just tried copying every song every time I tried to sync. Mac version has a runaway process bug if you cancel a job, and the pc version kept crashing iTunes.

To top it off, I got a refund, and then it crashed while I was trying to remove it from my PC!!! Arrrggg!

DOUG S.  Can TuneRanger transfer individual songs directly from a connected iTunes Library and is there a PC version available?
